Best sunscreen in the market
Iโve been using this sunscreen every single day for the past two years, and I honestly canโt see myself switching. Iโve tried several other sunscreens, including Shiseido, but I always come back to this one. It feels incredibly lightweight, blends beautifully into my skin, and gives just enough tint to even out my complexion without looking like makeup. It never feels greasy, doesnโt clog my pores, and works perfectly under makeup or on its own.

MD Elta 46 is the Beat in Every Way
Iโm 52 and never wore sunscreen. About a year ago, I noticed some discoloration on my upper cheeks. I asked my dermatologist what I could do about it. He said that it was melasma from sun damage. He sold me a cream that contained hydroquinone and recommended EltaMD Tinted 46. So, I bought some. EltaMD seemed very expensive at the time. So, I bought a big bottle of another brand with a pump on it and used it every morning like lotion. Quick and easy. But, I could feel that I was absorbing what I learned were chemicals (I didnโt know the difference in physical and chemical sunscreen at the time). So, then I got into a rather obsessive series of chats with ChatGPT about chemical sunscreen (for months). Most chemical sunscreens in the U.S. use the same four ingredients. These ingredients do absorb into the skin and some impact hormones. So, I bought Zinc Oxide /Titanium Dioxide sunscreens. But, they literally turn your face blue. OK for the beach. But, you canโt wear it to work. People think you are low on oxygen and are dying. Definitely not worth the distracting conversationsโespecially if youโve lost a bunch of weight taking a GLP-1. As I said, I became obsessed with this subject and know all of the chemicals used in the U.S and Europe along with associated target wavelengths (I didnโt look too much into Asian sunscreens). But, Iโll say that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is really in the way with chemical sunscreens. The approval process is so expensive, the sunscreen companies donโt go through the approval process in the U.S. But, the Europeans have a lot of options. And they are very good options. Particle size, and some other characteristics, ensure that they donโt absorb into the skin, are reef safe, and donโt degrade quickly in sunlight. So, you donโt have to apply them every two hours if you are in an office and not sweating (because thatโs the other thingโIโm not getting caught in the restroom mirror, or with a compact mirror, applying sunscreen at work). So, I ordered a lot of different European sunscreens to be shipped directly from Europe. Why so many? I learned that blue light is what causes melasma. And there are a couple of ingredients (Mexoryl 400 and TriAsorB) that stop blue light along with UVA and UVB. But they made my face shiny (like, your face looks like it is slathered in olive oil). I bought matte versions that were still shiny. Or they had perfume in themโvery floral feminine scents (God knows I donโt want to show up at work smelling like a girlโor a Romeo fresh from a romp either). Some of the bottles were comically small (fits in the front pocket of your slacks without bulging) for exhorbatant prices that were exacerbated by high shipping costs. But, mostly, they are oily. So, I bought a great U.S. zinc oxide one that is very mattifying. Worked perfectโฆ almost. The problem was that two layers of sunscreen (I didnโt want to give up the blue light protection) with a mattifier absorbing so much oil made it look like I was wearing foundationโand turned my face blue. I tried a lower zinc oxide spf concentration. Still blue. Then I got tinted versions (the first one was too dark and made me look like I was drunk). And, that much sunscreen makes you feel like you are wearing a mask and you canโt wait to wash it off at the end of the day. After washing, my face would be dry (donโt use Castile soap on your face). So, I bought moisturizers (several because ChatGPT gave me a whole regimen on a Word doc so I could tape it to my mirror). Some made my face oily. Some made my face sting (even the simple volcano water and hyaluronic acid stung). For the love of God! So, ChatGPT tells me that my barrier is compromised. So, I buy a bunch of mild cleansers. Cream to foam is not strong enough to remove caked on sunscreen. Squalene oil emulsifier works great. But, this was all too much. So, this morning I saw, among a bathroom sink full of so many products it puts my wifeโs side of the sink to shame (sheโs very unhappy with this obsession by the way. She says I look like a girl putting on make up (rubycell sponges are the best in case you are looking for that kind of thing))โฆ. Well, to make a long story short, I saw an old bottle of EltaMD 46. Very smooth application (I think that it is the Octinoxate that creates the perfect viscosity). It feels like I have nothing on my face. Thatโs a great feeling. No white cast or blue face. The tint does not seem to wear off as easily on things like a white collar or the inside of a hat (probably because it spreads so well you donโt have to use a lot. Iโve purchased a dozen hats to protect me from the sun too. But thatโs a whole nโother story). The bottom line is that my dermatologist was right. And, I could have financed a few years worth of EltaMD 46 purchases if I hadnโt gone down the European rabbit hole. Do not buy the EltaMD 50! It does not spread well. One more thing. The iron oxide used in the tint blocks blue light that causes melasma! Who would have guessed. I didnโt notice that message the first time I was reading the bottle label. Just buy the EltaMD 46. Trust me. Itโs the best in every way.

My favorite sunscreen!! โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ
I have acne prone skin and this sunscreen works really well for me. It feels very light on my face and does not make my skin feel greasy. The tint looks natural and helps even out my skin tone without looking like makeup. I love that it blends easily and feels comfortable to wear all day. Definitely worth trying if you have sensitive or acne prone skin.

๐OILY SKIN PEEPS๐
I am amazed! If you are like me and have oily skin, like legitimately oily skin, then this is what you're looking for. I'm the girl that always has shine from my oily skin.. constantly blotting my face with rice paper throughout the day. It's ridiculous but it is what it is. So as you can imagine, wearing facial sunscreen is a nightmare for me. THIS IS AMAZING! Not only did I not get more oily from this sunscreen, but I'm not even oily at all today. I rode my horse outside in the arena, sweat, AND NO OIL! Today was the first day using EltaMD so of it changes, I'll edit my post but as of right now, I'm so excited. My face feels soft, no shine, no white build up, no sunburn, just all goodness. TINT COLORING... I will say that the tint was very minimal so if you're looking for coverage with the tint, I wouldn't expect it to cover sun spots, etc. The next true test will be on my upcoming vacation to the humid and hot weather in Dominican Republic.

Great product
Love this. I use it daily. It is light and has sun protection. Usually get it when it's on sale as it's kinda pricey but it's worth it!

The Perfect Non-Oily Sunscreen!
EltaMD UV Clear Tinted Sunscreen is an absolute lifesaver for daily sun protection. The most excellent part about this product is that it is completely non-oily and absorbs beautifully without leaving a greasy residue. The subtle tint blends perfectly to even out my skin tone while providing amazing lightweight coverage. It keeps my face looking fresh, shine-free, and protected all day long!

Lightweight tinted sunscreen that works well under makeup, but finish depends on skin type
Iโve been using this sunscreen daily as part of my morning skincare routine, mainly under makeup or on no-makeup days for light coverage. The texture is very lightweight and spreads easily without feeling heavy or greasy. It absorbs fairly quickly and doesnโt leave a sticky residue, which is a big plus for daily wear. The tint helps even out mild redness and gives a subtle โmy skin but betterโ look rather than full coverage. It layers well with moisturizer and foundation, and I didnโt experience any pilling when applying makeup over it. That said, the finish can vary depending on skin type. On oilier skin, it can start to look a bit shiny throughout the day, while drier skin types may want to moisturize well beforehand to avoid any uneven blending. It also has a very sheer tint, so it wonโt replace foundation if youโre looking for coverageโmore of a tone-evening sunscreen than a makeup product. Overall, this is a solid everyday sunscreen option if you want something lightweight, non-greasy, and compatible with makeup, especially for sensitive or acne-prone skin.

This Gets Rid of All Kinds of Reasons You May Not Want to Use Sunscreen
I was not really a fan of tinted sunscreen because I was afraid that it could worsen my acne (even when it says for acne-prone), dry my skin out, darken my skin tone, and the list goes onโฆ I even opted Elta MD out of my list because I tried their sunscreen before and it irritated my face badlyโฆ Reapplying sunscreen every 2 hours is absolutely necessary if you want continuous protection, especially if youโre treating your acne or dark spots. Iโm treating both so yeah I have to follow this rule. But the problem with regular sunscreens, whether chemical or mineral, is that after like the 3rd reapplication in a day, it starts to form a white cast on my face, and it makes me lookโฆ horrible. So the journey begins, I looked for tinted sunscreens hoping that it would solve this problem. I tried 2 from other brands and they didโฆ but they left my face looking shiny in a bad wayโฆ I got upset but I still wanted to keep lookingโฆ and after having watched a few Youtube videos. I decided to pick this oneโฆ and Iโm so happy that I did! First, it doesnโt cause irritation, which was amazing because their untinted did. Second, it blends onto my skin quickly, easily and without compromising your skin tone. The tint looks dark when i get it on my hands at first, but then it goes almost transparent after I spread it all over my face. And because of this, it doesnโt really darken my skin tone at all after multiple applications throughout the day. Third, it feels oily, but doesnโt make my face look shiny. So, it further encourages me to reapply every 2 hours. Fourth, it is not water-resistant. You may not want to use this sunscreen if youโre heading to the beach, or living your life outdoor on a rainy day. But if you spend most of the time indoor while the outside is sunny and dry, and you have little contact with water, this sunscreen is fabulous! On top of that, you can avoid the hassle at night that is trying to remove it off your face. Using just water may or may not be effective so I still need to use an oil-based cleanser first to remove it. The thing here is that I need just a tiny bit of the cleanser with little to no rubbing to get the job done. And last but not least, it sure protects you from those UV Rays. I have used this for a week and havenโt got any sunburnt or any sign of worsening dark spots on my face and neck. And while protecting my skin, the sheer tint also hides away my red & dark spots, even my skin tone and therefore making my face look better! Overall, this is a 10/10 sunscreen for acne-prone, sensitive skin type. It solves all kinds of hassles that stop you from consistently applying and/or reapplying sunscreen.

Lightweight and Effective Sunscreen for Sensitive Skin!
Iโve been using the EltaMD UV Clear Facial Sunscreen for a few weeks now, and itโs quickly become my go-to sunscreen for everyday wear. Hereโs why I love it: 1. Gentle on Sensitive Skin: I have sensitive skin, and this sunscreen is perfect for me. It doesnโt cause any irritation or breakouts, and itโs so gentle. Iโve struggled with other sunscreens causing redness or stinging, but this one is soothing and comfortable on my skin. 2. Oil-Free and Lightweight: This sunscreen has an oil-free formula, which is fantastic for my combination skin. Itโs super lightweight, absorbs quickly, and doesnโt leave a greasy or sticky feeling. I can wear it under makeup without worrying about shine or heaviness. 3. Broad-Spectrum Protection: The sunscreen offers broad-spectrum protection, which is crucial for preventing sun damage. Knowing that it shields against both UVA and UVB rays gives me peace of mind, especially when spending long hours outdoors. 4. Perfect for Daily Use: Itโs designed for daily use, and I love how it doesnโt disrupt my skincare routine. I apply it every morning, and it blends in seamlessly with my moisturizer and makeup. The formula is non-comedogenic, so it doesnโt clog pores either. 5. Helps with Skin Tone: Iโve noticed that my skin looks brighter and more even-toned after using this sunscreen regularly. It contains niacinamide, which has helped with my skinโs overall texture and clarity. Overall, I highly recommend the EltaMD UV Clear Facial Sunscreen to anyone looking for a lightweight, effective, and non-irritating sunscreen for daily use. Itโs perfect for sensitive skin and offers excellent protection without the heavy feel of typical sunscreens!

100% worth the investment for me
It's perfect. Feels amazing on the skin. No white cast on me due to the tinted formula. I actually want to put on sunscreen now because of this product. I also don't use makeup so this acts as a light and hydrating foundation for me, which I appreciate for my acne-prone, dry, textured skin. I had to replace my old Sun Bum tinted sunscreen because they changed the formula and it began to dry out my skin. This silky smooth formula feels even better on my skin than the old Sun bum formula. I'm in love! Expensive but it's a health product that goes on your face; it's worth the investment IMO!

Still my favorite!
This has been my sunscreen for the past 2 years. I use this alone with no foundation. My skin is naturally very oily. This does not feel heavy and my skin loves it. Yes it is pricey but worth it. I have never found anything close to this product.
