Carpet is like new again! (but change vacuum filters often)
A dry cleaner was recommended by the flooring professional that restretched my carpet. I moved into a 16 year old condo with bumpy carpet. After getting the carpet restretched I used my wet shampooer which worked ok. It seemed like every 2 or three months spots and stains would reappear. My first plan was to use the Capture dry shampoo in between shampoos. I realized the stains were just seeping up from the pad when I used the wet shampoo. The dry is a little easier to use and does not really require "dry" time. I spray the pre treatment then sprinkle the powder and brush that it; lightly for general cleaning and vigorously for stains. After about an hour I will vacuum it. Make sure to run the vacuum over the cleaned area several times. Sometimes it keeps looking better after a few vacuums. Make sure you change your vacuum air filter or wash the foam ones often. I have spares so its no problem to change the filter after doing a couple of rooms. This helps all the particulate get picked up. The particulate was only off white so I wondered if it was really working. I took a little of the used powder from the vacuum and put it in a glass jar with some water. It turned to dark brackish water with a lot of gunk in it so I feel like its doing at least as good a job as the wet shampoo. It looks and feels fresher so I'll use the dry shampoo as my primary cleaner. I almost look forward to cleaning the outdoor furniture now - it will be so much easier than the wet shampoo!!

Clean smell stain gone
This stuff is amazing but you do have to get down on the floor with the brush. You stay it with the stay stuff and then sprinkle the powder over the light spray spread it evenly over the area and let it dry well. Vacuum it up and it takes out dog urine smell. I have an d dog who has occasional accidents and it has been the best cleaner so far.

Wow this stuff works for smelly carpet
So I always read the 1 stars first when ordering something so I know what the worst case scenario is. There were issues with the dust staying in the carpet for some and what sounded like dislike of smell of the product or wrong carpet type usage leading to damage. And I thought to myself: I own a Shark and I am sure that particles left means crappy vacuum...Oh and I am not an idiot. I have short to medium carpet which seems the normal intention for this. Also, since I am saving to remove the crap anyway...Who cares! So I gave it a go for the mildewy smell battle. I applied this: Anti idiot style (Do not SMOTHER the carpet with the dry material. It is meant to bond and so needs little and a brush to combine. Seems to be a baking soda/borax type thing and the spray is some sort of vinegar type thing I think. So when you brush it together you get the reaction plus time that does actually DO THE JOB! I have tried baking soda and vinegar before and the smell is bad and it really does clump and stick. This is definitely a notch up the ladder. The smell is very carpet cleaner and so it does a job on its own of blending out the mildew. 30 minutes with this and I feel like I can wait to rip this up for a bit :) I am always walking the dog barefoot so the mildewy is definitely my fault...But i did this all barefoot and I could feel the reaction and see it on my own feet. I had a soapy wet washcloth at the ready for that but yay for personal proof of working. Cannot say my carpet looks amazingly better but then you use a stem cleaner for that and this is definitely how I am combatting the fallout of bits of water left in the carpet and tracking over time. Still it does look a bit better too and was way less drama than steaming. THANK YOU! Good product!

Good product!
The product does what it says it will do. I got stinky dog smell out of my area rug. I have used on paint droppings and it lifted the paint out of the carpet. I do leave on longer than is suggested. I have used it for years.

Sorta works, for large areas I would use a machine still.
Left behind white residue even after scrubbing and vacuuming with a shop vac. Did not work on low pile carpet. Obvious stains left behind. It worked about 50% as good as shown. If your carpet has light staining it may work better for you. 3 Stars as it is better than nothing though it is a pain/mess (and you will absolutely want to make sure you vacuum up all the dust carefully!) I would try the product again on less tightly knit carpet or on newer stains.

It's worth it, it WORKS!
Love this product, I've been using it for years now. I have an Oreck Orbiter that I use with this product and it is way better than wet-cleaning your carpets, especially if you have dogs. The smell is light and it really does take the "dog" odor out of our house. I really like the fact that after an hour you can just vacuum up the powder and poof, you are done! I will continue to use this product as long as it's available. I find it a lot easier to come by then the Oreck brand of dry cleaner.
