I bought the GDMINLO Soft Tape Measure Retractable Measuring Tape for fishing, as it looks very similar to the free ones given away by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. It serves that purpose perfectly for quickly checking fish length on the go. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and the retractable design works smoothly. The markings are clear and easy to read, and it feels familiar if you’ve ever used the standard giveaway measuring tapes. That said, it’s not the most durable option out there, so I wouldn’t expect heavy-duty use or rough handling to extend its lifespan. However, for the price, it’s more than good enough for casual fishing and occasional use. Overall, it’s a very affordable and practical little tool that does exactly what I needed it to do.

Quality feels like it’s paper and plastic. The steadiness of the tape is not really steady at all. It’s floppy the fit is small smaller than the size of a hand. Measurement range is really good. Usually this is used for Tailor measuring waist sizes shoulder sizes so I never went over the limit.

GREAT TAPE MEASURE

After 3 years, the little tab at the end ripped off and the tape retracted inside its holder. There is no way to open the tape measure and retrieve the end without destroying it. I guess this isn't so bad for something that cost $4, but it's not what i would call high-quality.

This is 1000xs better than a normal sewing body tape measure and much more storable and manageable for my projects
