Doesn't seem to be as creamy as you would think from the photos. Does anyone have any application tips?

I've bought several colors of these and love them-- I use a eyeshadow brush- it evens the application on the eyelids and the color lasts all day long at work til I come home. If you are using your finger to apply it will go on way to thick and hard to apply evenly ..hope this helps

The metallic gold and silver is very shimmery. The taupe is matte. There are leather-y ones also. So I think it depends on which color you select.

I think it's more about your skin's undertone and your color preference. A cooler undertone usually means that the veins in the underside of your wrist will appear purpleish, while a warmer skin tone's veins will appear slightly greenish. If the veins don't appear particularly appear either color, your skin tone is probably neutral. I'm neutral leaning cool and this color looks great with my fair complexion, ashy brunette hair and brown eyes. The most important thing is to always do you and rock what YOU want to rock.

Is this shimmery or more matte

This is more matte with a very slight sheen.
