Got these at the recommendation of chat gpt. This is my first set of grips and they are extremely comfortable and my hands stay put when riding. They feel kind of sticky when you grab them but as soon as you let go your hands don’t feel sticky, it’s an extremely weird sensation, but effective. And they look really sharp as well

The ODI Rogue lock-on grips with the metal clamps on both ends (difficult to find in 2026), and plastic snap-on inserts, are my favorite grips. The rubber compound is soft yet durable, and has a large surface area. They're ideal for people with larger hands. I usually wear minimalist gloves when riding, and even with gloves I can still feel a noticeable difference over lesser grips. They're ideal for mtb, but I recently fixed up an old commuter bike and put these on for a custom feel. They are definitely a winner; can't go wrong with ODI lock-on Rogues.

These are great grips. They feel comfortable on my hands, reducing numbness from long rides, and stick to my hands like glue. So far when the grips have been wet, they still offer a solid hold for my hands. I sweat a lot so hopefully this remains true once summer rolls around. The locks-ons make installing and removing the grips easy. No fussing with rubbing alcohol etc. to slowly shimmy the grips on and off. My only complaint is that my original shipment was missing two of the lock-on clamps. Reading some other comments this does not seem to be an uncommon issue. My replacements did come very quickly though (next day). Hopefully they look into this issue because otherwise there is nothing to dislike.

I've been on a journey with a 2003 GT Palomar. I didn't care for how it rode, fit or shifted, when it was given to me new in 2004. So after a few short rides it was put in shed. When it saw daylight for a ride in 2013, it was hit on the rear wheel by a car. The wheel was bent so badly that I was barely able to limp it home with the V-brakes released. Then it went back in the shed. In 2021, it saw daylight again as I was going to junk it. I didn't think the cost of a wheel straightening, or new wheel and tune up at a bike shop was justified on a 20 year old $230 bicycle. But, it had less than 100 miles on it and seemed to be comparable with some new bikes in the $500 and up range. So I cleaned it up and figured I'd try to fix, service and sell it. I watched videos, then fixed the indexed shifting and straightened the wheel. From there the old GT got a full tear down, cleaning and service. On a test ride, it was smoother and quieter than anything I'd ever owned. At this point, because of it's age, I figured no one would give me what I felt it was worth. It also had a Chrome Moly frame, which I prefer the ride of, over newer aluminum frames. So, I decided to try to make it fit me better instead of selling it. I replaced the stock seat post with an Orign8 400mm and the bars with Bucklos risers to make the bike fit better. While, it fit better it still wasn't right. So, I thought new grips would feel better and might help with the fit and handling issues. Based on some research and reviews, I decided to try the ODI grips. Especially as several reviews mentioned that they were comfortable and fit larger hands. Even though they were longer than the 100mm stock grips on the GT, I ordered them in. Hindsight being 20/20, I ordered these grips, before trying to simulate how a 130mm grip would feel on my bars with the grip shifters. When I simulated a narrower hand position on the bars during a ride, I found that the bike felt worse. But, when I tried a wider hand placement on the bars, the bike rode better. So I figured when the ODI grips arrived, I'd return them and began searching for grips that seemed as plush as the ODI, but narrower than the stock 100mm grips I had. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything else I wanted to try. When the ODI grips arrived and I put my hands around them, they felt great. They are very comfortable. Firm, but have give when squeezed and are not slick on a bare hand. They are also larger, outer diameter, than my stock grips. But, they were too long for what I wanted. After looking at how the grips are constructed and how the locking rings work, I decided to try to modify them to meet my needs. I took a measurement, a deep breath and felt stupid taking a hacksaw to these brand new grips. A utility knife and file were also used to complete the job. In the end, the modification worked perfectly and the grips are maybe 80mm now. They solidly lock on to the bars, feel great and work perfectly with my Revoshift shifters. I've done about 100 miles so far, bare hands and with light gloves, both on pavement and light trails. All has been good and comfortable. No regrets on this purchase and I bought another set to replace the old Oury's on my 2006 Cannondale F2000SL. Please know the grips did not solve my riding and handling problems with the GT. I found more video's on riding position and eventually, after gradually lowering my seat about 1/2" and moving it forward about 1/4", the bike became a great handling, stable, ride. I also played with rolling my bars, shifters and brake levers slightly forward and backward until I found the "sweet spot". In the end, the final piece of the puzzle was swapping the Bucklos 620mm risers for 720mm carbon handlebars. I took a chance that extra 100mm in width would solve the handling issues I still had and it did. Hope this helps and ride safe.

Awesome grips

I bought these grips after experiencing a lot of numbness and discomfort, even on short rides, with my new mountain bike. I switched from an XC bike to a trail bike, and I think the geometry has me putting a lot more weight on my wrists and hands, which causes them to go numb and be painful after a couple miles. At first I was disappointed because these grips didn't really seem to fix the problem for me. I had already tried a few different grips, so I just assumed numb hands would be part of the game now and gave up and left these on the bike. Fast forward a few months with some heavy riding and I can tell these grips are much softer than when they arrived. It was difficult to compress them when they were new, but now they squish and move a lot more - in a good way! I wasn't aware there was a break in period for grips, but these seemed to take a couple months to soften up, and now I really like them. I can also tell a huge difference between these and the thinner XR Trail Comp grips I was using before. The pain and numbness hasn't gone away completely, but it doesn't interfere with my riding anymore, and I suppose that's all I can ask for. I would recommend these grips for those who experience pain or numbness in their wrists/hands when riding, those who have larger hands, or those who just want a chunkier grip that grabs onto their riding gloves. However, give these grips a couple months to soften up. Once they do I think you'll be very pleased.

These have to be the best grips that I've ever used. A friend of mine was raving about these and my right grip just ripped so I read the reviews on Amazon and they conveyed the same sentiment. The grips arrived on time and I went straight to the garage to install them. I was already half way through the install when i realized the package was missing the locking ring and the caps. It did read some other reviews who experienced the same thing but I figure it might be a one off. I guess I was another unlucky customer. I contacted Amazon and they promptly shipped out another package along with a return slip for the first pair. Yes, this was annoying but I'm not going to dock any stars from the product itself because they are amazing. They are the most comfortable grips that I've ever used and they just look slick on the bike. The lock rings are metal and clamp on to the handle bar with ease. The end cap is plastic and I'm not sure how they will hold up over time but they lock in place very tight. The grips are spongy for some added comfort but not mushy where you lose control. The biggest thing I've noticed is that my hands no longer fall asleep on those long epic adventures through the trails. Love these things. They are a bit expensive compared to other options but they are well worth the price. The only thing I regret is not buying these sooner.

These grips just arrived today and I already love them after a short test ride. They are VERY easy to install taking all of about 10 minutes. Before installing on your handlebars, place the two locking collars on each grip with a few whacks with the palm of your hand. There are cutouts on each ring which fit into like cutouts in each rubber grip. When that's done, just pop on the end cap. Finally, slide the assembly on your handlebar and tighten down the two allen screws on each side. If you're a perfectionist, you can align the "Odi" logo on the end cap horizontally before screwing down the outboard screw. That's it! You're done! The grips fit the hand well and feel somewhat tacky. The rubber doesn't appear to be super hard so they should absorb most road or trail shock. I highly recommend these grips because not only do they look sharp, they work well and should last a very long time.

Ottime manopole, come detto da altri hanno un diametro importante e sono quindi più indicate per chi abbia mani lunghe, l'installazione è semplicissima, basta una chiave a brugola e prestare la massima attenzione a non stringere troppo. I primi km (20? 50? Dipende da caso a caso) devono essere considerato di rodaggio, inizialmente infatti la gomma risulta appiccicosa e le mani non scorrono al meglio, successivamente rimane solo la grandissima capacità di smorzamento delle vibrazioni e la grande comodità, con la gomma che diventa morbida ma non cedevole. Per completezza io d'estate uso sempre guanti senza dita, quelle rare volte che sono stato senza guanti comunque non ci sono stato problemi di sorta in un uso XC. Consiglio l'utilizzo di guanti con poca o punta imbottitura, è sufficiente la capacità di assorbimento delle manopole. Ho da più parti letto che sono ottime per DH e enduro, ma anche in XC hanno il loro motivo d'essere. Valgono decisamente quel che costano.
