Pink Tape, 1" x 5 yards (PACK OF 3), # 10LF - Pink Medical Waterproof Surgical Tape

Purchased repeatedly for wound care. Adheres well to skin but removes without skin damage.

Have been using this tape for years and recommending to other ostomy patients. The last order was totally different. It came in irregular roles that were not cut properly, appeared to have been subjected to heat and was deformed , was sticky on outer surfaces and yet did not seal well to skin. It was also much more difficult to remove and required large amounts of solvent to remove from skin. Apparently, the manufacturer has big problems on their production lines which need to be fixed ASAP.

I purchased this Hy-Tape Pink Tape to cover my new abdominoplasty "tummy tuck" incision to protect my scar from the UV rays while tanning. It works and stays on well, even when wet. It has occasionally left some sticky residue on my skin when I have left it on for an extended period. I found the best way to remove the residue is with Goo Gone. I then thoroughly wash this area with isopropyl alcohol. The price I paid ordering from Amazon was less than what I have paid ordering directly from the manufacturer which I have done in the past. The only difference between the two was Hy-Tape ships the spools of tape in three individual boxes whereas with Amazon I received three individual spools of Hy-Tape in a transparent plastic bag with no boxes. That seems like the only difference which I could care less about having it in three individual boxes. I also recently had a posterior lift so I am going to go through these rolls fast when I start tanning again.

While I was using the tape it proved to be very useful.

I got this product to cover my surgical scar from the sun. It is easy to apply, waterproof and covers my scar fully. I swam and showered with the tape on and it didn’t budge. It peels off easily when I take it off at night. My scar is looking great after using it for several months.

Some folks have very delicate skin which can actually be injured by standard medical adhesives. HyTape is one of a spectrum of substitutes that can be very useful. It's a trade-off of course between adhesion and ease of removal; it's expensive but worth a try if you have that problem. It is silicone based, so it's suitable for folks with latex allergies.

Ordered was multiple rolls..one roll just fine, should be a 5, but one roll was wound incorrectly and was a complete sticky mess. Time had passed to return and too darn expensive to throw out! Trying to " make do" for wound care.

I've had an ileostomy for 10 years and every day of that time I've had a roll of this within arm's reach. I keep one in my bathroom, my living room, my car, and my purse. It's an absolutely essential item. If it looks like I might get a leak I'll slap a piece on that section of my wafer and I also put a piece over the filter on my bag to prevent odor or leakage from the filter. Normal medical tape or imitations are useless... It has to be hy-tape.
