The knife does exactly what it was made for. Blade is extremely easy to keep shape with little effort. I recommend this product.

I carried a fixed blade knife in my waist band for the last several years (ESEE 4, Condor Kephart) but wanted to try my luck with a folder again. After several check-outs and returns, I pulled the trigger on the Free K2X. Although it IS thick, I like it a lot and definitely recommend. I was hoping I would like this knife _even though_ it was thick, but I think I actually like it BECAUSE it is thick. It feels like a very solid, hefty knife in the hand, which is good for a knife this length. I didn't want a knife that felt as light and thin as a hair comb or something, and this thing is a good fit. I keep it in my back pocket next to my wallet, so the thickness might be more of an issue for a front/side pocket wearer. Now, if it was just made super fat with no tools in the handle, it might feel kind of stupid. BUT THERE'S TOOLS! I like having a few extra implements at hand (and ONE hand at that). If you are just looking for a simple box cutter/letter opener, this may not be for you. I like that the blade shape, the overall styling, made in the US and 25 year warranty, but also this thing just feels and operates like a finely machined tool. I don't know what "magnetic locking" means, but this knife is very smooth in all its movements and very secure when locked (both open and closed). There is no play on the blade or tools when opened. The K2X looks and feels like a very well-made, high-quality device that is both handy and good to look at. Definitely recommend.

I’ve had this knife now for about two months. I had originally bought it at full price and then returned it for prime day discount. I would not pay full price for it. It is a really good tool and I use it almost every day. The aluminum frame keeps it light and even though it looks big, it feels small in the pocket. The Phillips head works well despite being flattened, so kudos to the designer. The downsides are that it does need a fairly long break-in before the tools move easily. I have gotten some corrosion on the hinge already, which was surprising. The blade redesign with the teeth is great, but the blade itself dulls very easily, and the tip snapped off already. Overall, a good multitool that has just enough of the right tools to be used every day, but there are some concerns about the quality. If it’s on sale, I’d recommend it but not for list price.

I thought it is smaller but it is really big knife and built like a tank.

I have a bunch of knives. I also have multi tools. I carry a knife everyday but run into trouble when I need to pry something or turn a screw. I tried carrying a multi tool but it takes too long to get to the knife. The main tool I want for EDC is a knife and this brings together the best of both worlds for me. Since I put the K2 in my pocket it has come in handy many times. Opening a paint can, installing a ceiling light, and opening a beer battle have all been tasks that my “regular” knives wouldn’t have been good for. Yes it’s a bit bulky but 100% worth the trade off. If what I said fits what you need, get one.

So this knife is pretty much a T4 with a bigger blade. It is bulky and definitely not an every day carry. It is a good build but there are other knives out there that can do more and are convenient to carry around. You want something to fit comfortably in your pocket? Not this one.

Every single thing that Leatherman builds is of utmost quality, and is built to last. I've beat the hell out of this knife, and it's still kicking!

The Leatherman K2X is the best carry knife I’ve ever owned. The additional tools on the backside is what makes it so special for me. I used to always have dull knives from cutting boxes but now I can use the back tools & keep the knife sharp in the event I need it. I appreciate it so much that I bought one for all of the groomsmen in my wedding! So I am currently 5 deep on these. I highly recommend this knife - it’s the perfect balance between a standard pocket knife and a multi-tool.
