I have never wrote a review in my life but I am so impressed with this food, I feel like i need to share how good of a quality this is! My diabetic cat is 16 and she spotted eating her Science Diet food. She lost a lot of weight and started becoming very lethargic. I thought her diabetes and she was just catching up to her but after doing some research, i found a few soft food alternatives to try. This food by far was her favorite! After just a month she was back to her playful self, coming back upstairs and her hair was growing back much healthier! This food is pricey but it brought my cat back to life! So thankful for this product!

Cats hate "prescription" diets, and this is a great alternative. It has low phosphorus, which is one point of these script diets for cats with kidney issues. But what good are those if cats won't eat them? I've never had a cat who did. It does have pieces of squash, and if cats eat those pieces it's great. If they eat around them, they still get nutrition. You can spin it all in a blender or food processor to blend those pieces into a puree and they will also get that benefit. Low phosphorus apparently means companies must label this as not being a complete food for a cat's diet, but it's only because it has lower phosphorus, which CKD cats are supposed to limit. Weruva has many lower phosphorus foods. Their web site is one of the few were all these values are listed and easy to find. Again, this is not a puree, but you can turn it into one, if that's what your cat likes.

I purchased for my 15 yr old who is in early stages of kidney disease. Unfortunately she won't eat her prescription food so vet said any food is better than no food, prompting me to research lower phosphorus and protein options. This brand and flavor was at the top of the list, aside from prescription. My cat seemed to enjoy at first, though she just licked it to death, leaving the bulk of the food behind. This created an expensive waste for the little actual substance she was ingesting. The younger kitties, however, love it. While the 15 yr old used to eat everything, she's become picky with old age, so maybe it's just her.

Our cat likes this brand and flavor and always begs for it. This batch may have been bad or was siting in the hot warehouse for too long because she won't eat it. I hate it when this happens.

So my cat has CKD and obviously has to have a special diet. I normally get her royal canin (and there is one one kind she will even go near because she is the pickiest of the picky). I've tried literally every other food on the market and have not had much success minus the Forza food sold here on amazon (she gets tired of that though and I have to swap) So, I looked through the values on this and they are within acceptable levels to feed a CKD cat, so I went for it. She actually will eat this. It isn't her royal canin, but she don't hunger strike with it, so thats good enough for me. If you have a CKD cat, you should talk to your vet if you are looking for a supplemental food for your picky cat - because this might just work for you.

My cat is more of a surf than a turf gal, but I decided to give this food a shot to see if it would help her kidney disease. She ate it a bit at first but eventually decided that it wasn’t for her. Obviously it’s a high quality food but might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Fortunately Amazon refunded the money quickly without my having to return the remaining cans, which I donated to the local animal shelter.

Read that it's a great healthy option, especially for cats with kidney problems. My babies polished everything off their plates when I feed this to them!
