MLB SouthPaw Backpack

This is actually my 2nd review of this item....I'm guessing from another seller, because its not showing on this page. That first review was not a good one because the first bag completely fell apart at the seams. I had explained in that review that my son was in 2nd grade at the time, and that means, his bookbag was not filled with much. I contacted Amazon about it, and they sent him another one. I updated that review a bit and now, I am adding another one since I am given that opportunity. My son has been using the replacement bag the latter half of second grade and now, 4 months in to 3rd grade. And it is going well. No problems. Great storage, and knowing I will get great replacement service from Amazon is wonderful.

I read the reviews about the bad zippers but bought this anyway because it was so cheap. I figured if we made it through a school year we'd have our money's worth, and my 7 year old would likely be begging for a Seahawks one next year or something else anyway. The material is really sturdy and nice and the design and applique are high quality. They just missed the boat on the zippers, which is a shame. I have had to replace the pull on the main one (after less than 2 weeks of school) and I imagine I will end up having to replace the entire zipper before school is out, or maybe before the semester is out. I hope the company takes note and changes the zippers. Really glad I didn't pay full price.

My 10 y/o son really wanted this backpack for school this fall. It looked great, seemed to be perfect. After about a month of use the string off the zipper came off. That was an easy fix. Then a few weeks later the zipper toggle came off. Again, not a bad fix....until the zipper finally broke completely. The backpack was used for less than two months...didn't even make it to the winter season that would have been a much heavier load. I hate to give negative reviews, but this was a money waster. The price was very good and maybe that should have been my first clue, but I get a lot of great deals from amazon on very well made products, so that usually doesn't deter me. I gave it a two because it has a great look to it, but that is about it.

I like the design of this backpack, and it fit my tall 7 year old perfectly. It has nice side pockets and larger front pocket. However, after only a week of use one of the zippers for the main section of the backpack was unusable, it's off the track and won't zip the bag. Luckily there is a second zipper that still works, so the backpack is still being used, but I'm just waiting for that one to go since the first went so quickly.

I love the backpack. I got it to hold all of my information for our 5/6 Baseball team, and it held up for the entire season. The only thing I don't love about it is the zipper, which can be a little difficult to open. But this is a minor issue, and I've been able to work around it rather easily.

ordered for my sons b-day. have had it for about 3 months now. was gun shy because of past experiences with zippers. seems to be holding up but then again he's in second grade. great day pack when we go hiking. my only drawback is there's no #3 version. if that last part lost you then you don't deserve to buy. get the astros stuff instead. highly recommended

My son was so excited to get this backpack for school but on the first day one of the zippers split (the backpack was no where near full). Then the zipper completely broke. He was very disappointed. I was not able to return the item because it was past the 30 day mark (I bought it in June and school began in the beginning of August).

WE LOVED THE BOOK BAG JUST WHAT MY GRANDSON WANTED BUT IT LASTED FOR 36 DAYS. THE ZIPPER BROKE OUT. HE IS ONLY IN THE 2ND GRADE SO NO HEAVY BOOKS OR PAPER WORK. I CHECKED ON AMAZON TO SEE IF I COULD RETURN IT AND IT SAID NO. I GUESS I PAID FOR A DISPOSABLE BOOK BAG AND DID NOT REALIZE IT.
