Great Bike rack! Sturdy, lightweight and easy to use
Very pleased with this purchase. Moved from a 4 bike to this 2 bike carrier. I have a beach Cruiser style women's bike and have a hard time making it fit other bike racks without the special bar adapter that you have to purchase to make my style of bike compatible with most other bike racks ( I have had issues with these bars bending). This bike rack eliminated that dumb bar for me! Yay, one less thing to worry about and adjust! I also found that my bike (beach cruiser) would always sit lower than other bikes on bike racks that hold bikes by their frames and not the wheels. This was another reason I purchased this model as there is no more concern on whether or not my bike might hit the ground when we go over a dip or coming out of a steep driveway. Love the sliding padded- frame holders - having the press release on these instead of the twist kind is also a bonus... quicker and faster! The Tire holders work well with thin 10speed style, standard, and mountain bike tires. Fat tires will NOT fit in this one, but this was not an issue for our family. Carrier does not wobble more than just a tiny bit and that is because of the movable tilt joint - THIS IS NOT a big deal at all and anyone who is experiencing big movement like I read about in other reviews must not have something tightened up enough. I use this this on a 2x2 hitch and do not have any issues SECURITY/LOCKING: While the bike carrier itself does not lock the bikes or can you lock the carrier to your car, there are plenty of holes and other parts that you can loop a bike lock through to accomplish this. Overall I am very pleased with this

Great! Once you've got it put together!
I am a 68 yo woman, recently retired, looking to take my bike places. Wanted a bike rack I could handle, not too heavy, complicated, yet reliable to use. Wanted the bike tray type for the wheels, so I don't have to lift my hybrid Giant bike too high. Considered Yakima Hold Up and Thule, but way too much $$$$ for amount I would be using the rack. Decided to give this Swagman (which had many great reviews & suggestions) a try to attach to my 2020 Subaru Forester. I tried putting it together, per instructions, to no avail. Asked my son to help. Then after reading reviews on "easy to put together (not)", I decided to give it another try. It took me about 1.5 grueling hours, reading, re-reading the instructions (not very user friendly, I would be happy to write Swagman new ones), I finally did it!!!! Felt so accomplished and proud. Many said the instructions made sense once you were successfully done, true, but they could have been better, for sure. Got my bike secured and just took it for a trial run about town. Very little wobble, my bike feels secure. The tilt feature is great, as can still open the hatchback. The rack is heavy to take on and off, but I will see about that. I fear I will pop the auto open hatchback button and then what?!?!? All in all, I feel it is a good, quality rack, nice features and a good value. I am happy with my purchase, just read the directions very literally.

Great value, easy to use
While this rack is not as heavy duty as more popular, expensive brands, it's a great value for the cost. It is sturdy and easy for me to mount and unmount from my Ford Focus hatchback. It tilts out perfectly so I can get my groceries in the back, so it's quite compatible with my car. It folds and moves easily when I want to put on my bicycle. It holds my bicycle securely. I never have to be concerned about it wobbling around or falling off.

Excellent, love the tilt back to access into my hatchback. Sturdy, well worth the money. Have had it for 2 years

Good sturdy rack.
This rack was easy to assemble in fits well in my 2" tailor hitch receiver. I have a Day6 bike which will not fit properly on many bike racks, but it fits easily on this bike rack.

Reasonably priced hitch rack with good quality
This seems very sturdy and high quality. Compared to the other versions, this has a tilt and the tire straps. I've already appreciated the tilt function and it works quite well and easily. The straps also come in the XTC2, and they're fairly basic. I would have appreciated ratcheting straps like on my Yakima roof bike rack. If I was debating between the XTC2 and the XC, which is $50 less but doesn't have the straps, I would say just save your money since you're essentially paying $50 for some $5 straps. What sold me on this one was the tilting function, and it was the cheapest one I could find that did that and so far i haven't been dissapointed.

Roadtrip Worthy
This bike rack surpassed my expectations for it. I recently finished driving from VA to UT (~2500 miles) with two adult sized mountain bikes (~34lbs each) and had no issues with it along the way. Many of the reviews mention alot of wobble with the rack, however once I tightened all the bolts present on the rack it wobbled significantly less. The instructions say to make sure the bolts are really tight and they mean it; I thought I had them tight until I had to STRUGGLE for the last quarter turn with a socket. After that, no more wobble! I have a 2” receiver and I purchased their locking 1/2” threaded pin for extra security, however the standard 1/2” threaded pin it comes with does the job- as long as you tighten it down. I removed the seats from the bikes to prevent any rubbing from the bikes handlebars and put duct tape over the seat post holes to keep out debris. The bikes are held to the rack with two hooks on the vertical arm of the rack; these can be locked in place with a Masterlock model 131T. I also used a KryptoLok and cable to lock the frames to the rack itself and ran a 15’ cable in between the wheels, frames, and chain rings located on my hitch. The tilt feature of the rack was very helpful in my journey across the US as I needed to access the back of my car every night. My one complaint is that after the drive, squeezing the clamps in to move the hooks on the vertical arm of the rack was rather difficult, I’m not sure if it is from dust/debris along the way but I did see other reviews mention this too. You really have to squeeze to get them to move. Other than that, I didn’t have any other issues with this rack. I would recommend it to my friends in a heartbeat, especially considering the price-point. You are not wasting your money by purchasing this rack!

Overcoming the wobble
Nearly returned this carrier due to wobbling so severe my wife said she couldn't look back at the bikes on the rack when we were on the road. I contacted the company and was told the bolts/nuts have to be VERY tight. So I literally whacked the handle of my wrench a couple times with a hammer and that seemed to do the trick. There is still some play but the unit feels far more secure. I also found the instructions, particularly the diagrams, to be awful. We're keeping the rack but, while we have been using it without incident, my recommendation has to be mild. It's not great but the price is good and it seems to hold the bikes pretty securely.

Great product, great features, great value and easy and effective to use.
Got this for my wife’s vehicle and she absolutely loves it. Got it with the locking cable as well which ensures we can secure bikes and hitch to car with no problems. Was easy to install and works very well. Easy to tilt which allows here full access to the back of the SUV without having to take the bike rack or bikes off which is fantastic and definitely worth the little extra over the models that don’t tilt. Far less expensive than Thule and some other brands but we have found it to be just as easy to use and install and it is really sturdy and well built and the locking cable add on is great and easy to use as well. Would definitely recommend for anybody looking for such an item - think it’s great value for the money and good quality product.

Well made bike rack
I’ve used this rack a few times now and overall I’m very happy with it. It was relatively easy to assemble and since I don’t want to leave it on my car all the time, it is easily removable when not in use. One tip - definitely tighten the bolt into the hitch ‘very tight’ as the instructions dictate. Otherwise there is a bit of play in the hitch mount. The tilt feature is a must have!

Great bike rack
Really happy with my purchase. First time I bought a bike rack. After checking a couple of reviews, decided with this model for quality-price. Couple of notes (good and less good) - relatively easy to install, although written instructions could be a little clearer (illustrations size is realy small) - Works great and is really secure and solid - tilt feature is a great option (part of why I choose this model), but is a bit hard to make work - black coating paint is really easy to scratch

Great Value!
The difference between this XTC2 Tilt and a low cost Costco solution is like night and day. I'm very appreciative of the differences between the two products. The tilting feature has been very convenient - I wouldn't be able to use my trunk otherwise (Honda CRV). The two vertical hooks work on a notch system instead of a tightening bolt. This prevents the hooks from sliding down as your placing your bikes but it also adds a second layer of security if needed. There are circular cut outs so that a dead bolt (albeit a thin one) can be used to prevent the notches from moving up, effectively locking the bike against the lower platform. Wobble is present but it's minimal in comparison to my prior rack. I like that you can buy a security lock to prevent someone from straight up stealing the entire rack. I love that this is a Canadian company! Only negative is that the ends of the hooks on my rack are exposed (but painted) from the rubber. I'd recommending adding tape or foam around it so that it doesn't scratch your bikes.

Ripping people off
Bought a locking hitch pin and guess what, it doesn't work with this bike rack!! They are forcing you to buy their own Swagman locking hitch pin for like 50 bucks or so on purpose, so if u are towing or using your tow hitch you constantly have to change the locking pin! I fixed this by drilling a bigger hole but now its pretty wobbly! For the price look elsewhere much better items out there
