How do I stop the iron from leaking?

We have no leaking at all from this iron, having had it for quite a long time now. Don't know how long you have had yours, but they are warranted for 1 year.

Does it work by electricity 220v

The product manual indicates you may only use the product with the specific power requirements that are specified ...mine said 120V

what is the warranty?

It is warranted by the Manufacturer for 1-year from the Purchase Date against defects in material and workmanship.

Is an extended warranty available for this iron? For this price, I would like some additional assurance.

I have owned 2 Rowenta irons. Both were purchased at sources other than Amazon. I don't recall being offered an extended warranty either time. The first died before the warranty ended and was replaced at the retail outlet. The second died not long after the warranty period. I replaced it with another brand from Amazon. In my opinion user reviews on Amazon are more valuable than extended warranties which are, in reality, insurance policies for extended life. I suggest anyone considering this question read Wikipedia on Extended Warranties then make a judgement about buying a product after reading both good and bad Amazon customer reviews which I have found very valuable.
