Frailty [Blu-ray] by Lions Gate by Bill Paxton

Watched this on Sky movies and had to buy the dvd ,it's classed as a horror but to be honest it's not but quite scary due to the great acting all round especially the two boys, you don't see blood or gore but you don't need to lets you imagination do the work.The ending has a twist and i shall be watching again to make sure I understood it.Great film not to mention the price and well worth to be added to your dvd collection

The film is excellent. Regarding this dvd purchase in particular, I do not think it was 'new' as described, as the picture was 'freezing' at the very beginning of the dvd but thankfully, the actual film part was not affected and I was able to watch it through without any further problems with picture quality. It did make me 'dubious' about dvd purchases in the future from 'sellers' via Amazon - when I buy 'new', I would expect the item to be genuinely 'new' :/

I gave this a five star rating even though it's not perfect because the one gripe I have about the film (Powers Boothe says four words too many at the end for my liking) doesn't merit knocking the score down by a fifth. It's still an original and genuinely unsettling ride and it's a shame that Bill Paxton hasn't been given more directing gigs.No complaints about the blu-ray (US import) which is clear as a bell and has bonus features that add to the enjoyment rather than pad out the disc. There are several different commentaries, from Paxton and others involved with the film, deleted scenes (with commentary to explain why they weren't used) and a making of feature. One of my best buys and worth every penny.

While this film gets a lot of good reviews I found the story and characters unbelievable from start to end.

Underrated and overlooked gem. A great performance from early McConaughey before his latter career revival and also great work behind and in front of the camera from the late Bill Paxton. American disc that plays on UK blu-ray player with great selection of extras.

This is a good film. If you like Bill Paxton, then its worth buying. Don`t watch the trailer first as its better to watch the film without knowing what its about.
