Can anyone compare to the sonxtronic xdr-8000?

Well, these are so tight they’ll progressively squish through your ear canals and brains like a watermelon through a vice till your skull collapses and explodes under the pressure as the two ear pieces reunite and embrace among the carnage like some romantic, post-battle wartime couple at the end of a Jerry Bruckheimer movie. Do the  sonxtronic xdr-8000s do that?

Are these similar to the sony mdr-w14? i'm more concerned with fit than quality of sound. i listen to audiobooks.

I bought these to replace my Sony MDR-W08 headphones. These fit pretty much the same and sound really good. Other than the bright yellow cord, I love them.

How's the sound quality of these for music? Coming from Sony MDR-W08L. Very curious if these are of the same sound quality. Thanks!

As I dimly recall, there really is/was no Sony MDR-W08L to compare with these. Over the decades, the Sony headphones kept being manufactured further and further from Japan (sort of like WWII in reverse ;-), and I don’t think the moves improved quality. As far as these headphones are concerned, I've been using these while exercising since the Sonys disappeared, and I have no complaints. IMHO, perfectly acceptable audio quality, reasonably rugged, and they don't seem to mind being rinsed.

AFAIK, these Koss KPH14 headphones are the only quality “side firing” headphones made. Unless things have changed, you have no other choice. At one time there were two Chinese copies available. The one I tried was of extremely low quality in every possible way -- and about twice the price of these. I never tried the other clone, nor do I intend to.

The ear piece has a speaker stat is flat and just sets slightly inside the ear. It points forward and allow the sound to be bounced back into the ear. Not dependent on a bud jammed into your ear canal. Much more comfortable for people with small ear canals or who dislike/can't wear ear buds. But doesn't push on your outer ear like headphones.
