Open Farm pet foods are some of the best quality, however they are also some of the most expensive. They are currently not labeled as Human Grade ingredients, but I was told by a rep that they are moving in that direction.

Update: please be warned if this ships from Amazon alone as a single item, they will either slap a label on the bag or put it in a bag and it will be DUST when it gets to you; sometimes Amazon will even smash it to fit it into a smaller bag especially when you order the 22oz one! It is best to order directly from Open Farms (free shipping) because they properly ship it in a fitted box and it comes uncrushed and as it is designed to be served to your pets. The food that is packaged and handled incorrectly by Amazon are a hassle to return and they do not understand why you are returning them and will just put it back on the shelf to send out the dust to someone else, or in my case I got the exact same bag when I reordered, because I marked the bottom. The dust can be added to homemade dog food to boost the nutrition, so not a waste but not what I want to pay $60 for; I won’t order it as a single item again if Amazon is the shipper/handler. The food is still great, I’m not downgrading my 4 stars, because Amazon can’t seem to understand proper packaging and handling. This for the last 8 years is a common theme to Amazon that they do not train people how to pack; if the FDA did an inspection they would fail because you don’t pack food and chemicals together and Amazon just cannot get that so it’s up to you to place your orders so it doesn’t happen. It is fine (most of the time) with my monthly order as that comes in a box. Dogs are in love with this food. 4 star because it is very expense compared to other freeze dried brands.

My Frenchie is allergic to chicken, pork is safe. She’d been having problems with her wet food and has been very happy eating this twice day

this stuff smells so good I want to eat it 😆it smells like maple syrup to me 🤷🏻‍♀️dogs love it! mix it in with their kibble or feed as a treat or topper!

my dog is a pom and we have gone through so many kinds of food. She is 7 lbs with a tiny mouth. She doesn't seem to like the lamb much but likes the beef. I crush it up in my hands a little so its easier for her to eat. She does not like it wet so I feed it dry to her to pick on. only downside is its pricey.

For a picky eater, this is worth a try. I’ve fed it as a dry food and slightly rehydrated (quick spray with water). I like the meat:vegetable ratio which is mostly consistent. But, I did received one bag that had a lot more “green” in it, and my dog wouldn’t touch it. We’ve tried Beef (a no go for him), Pork (hit or miss), Turkey (meh), Lamb and Chicken (likes these the most so far). One issue I have is that several bags of the product have arrived with ¼ - ⅓ of it crushed into powder, which is a packing issue. YowPets seems to pack it for shipment best, as orders from them are usually ok. My dog will not eat the powdered form, so that is an expensive throw-away. I recommend purchasing from the YowPets store if possible.

Our dog loves freeze dried raw pork best. It can be difficult to find so we are pleased to be able to order online. Love open farms quality also!
