Sperry Mens Gold Cup™ Authentic Original™ 2-Eye Boat Shoe

My husband originally bought these shoes in college during his sophomore year in 2016. I’ll let you do the math there but he still has them. Have they seen better days? For sure. These shoes should’ve been put out of their misery years ago just from all the trauma of places they’ve been worn because #collegefratboylife. But stay with me here. He would not get rid of them because he said they were still comfortable and they were still wearable. Finally after almost 10 years together I strongly encouraged he at least buy a new pair to be his nice pair and he did. The old pair haven’t been tossed yet (emotional attachment maybe idk) but the new ones are worn far more frequently. They fit well, they’re obviously durable if they can survive my husband’s college days, and they still look decent even after all those years. The second he put on the new ones he said “oh I forgot just how comfy these used to be when I first got them. Wow.” They pack well, are semi lightweight, go with plenty of outfits, and they look great. *** in the photo the one with the darker sole is the original, the sole just has gotten darker from years of wear and from my husband’s roommate spilling something once that never quite came out. The new ones are on the bottom of the photo. ***To clarify, though his original pair are old and worn in, they’re not falling apart, they just look like they have been well worn and he needed a new pair. The material is such a good quality on both pairs. In ten years from now I am sure we will be buying these again

It’s difficult ordering shoes online however these Sperry Gold Cups are absolutely the perfect fit. They are superior shoes that feel so comfortable on your feet. My husband loves this brand of boat shoe. In particular, he likes the look and feel of the Gold Cup Authentic original. The colors are what's he's used to. The fit perfect for his slightly wide feet.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Sperry maintains a classic style that combines simplicity, taste, and functionality. I wear the CVO sneakers religiously but there are times when you want a little more style. When I saw that the Gold Cup version were made with suple high quality leather, and tgst the insole and footed were lined with padded sheepskin, I decided to spend a little extra for them. To my delight, they were like slipping into a pair of cloud-like kid gloves for my feet. A perfect blend of soft foot hugging comfort and support which at my age, has become a serious, sometimes comfort over style choice. Fortunately, there is no sacrifice between the classic style over comfort with these boat shoes. They are soft and ready to wear out of the box. I can’t comment on durability because I just received them. But I can tell you that I have never put on a pair of shoes that blew me away like these. They are beyond fantastic … the leather outer is soft and supple, and the interior feels like silk sheets. These feel like your best broken in shoes, right out of the box, and my feet have never been happier. I’m not being paid for saying this LOL, I’m just ridiculously happy with how these shoes feel on my feet. Bravo to the folks who make these gold cup Sperrys. Truly phenomenal shoes, with a softness that would make wearing them with socks, a felony hahaha.

Well made, comfortable and remarkably narrow - not in a bad way but having narrower feet, I generally find most shoes are created on a medium to wide last these do not seem to be. So far, I am pleased with the purchase. I generally wear a men's 9.5 to 10 depending on brand and shoe, the 9.5 in these Gold Cup Sperry Topsiders fit perfect.

Such a comfortable shoe, great price! Came with a slight defect with the sewing near the back, not a huge deal but when you're still spending close to $200 you generally assume more perfection than not. Again, no biggie I still love the shoe, soft and supple leather, super comfortable, don't sleep on them if you have been considering!

They feel plush the second you step into them. - The Fit: Because the lambskin interior is so unbelievably soft and smooth, they fit best with bare feet or when using a no-show sock. Standard socks ruin the streamlined look and the incredible next-to-skin feel of the luxury lining anyway. They look amazing with shorts or chinos, and the non-marking outsole provides excellent grip. Definitely the ultimate boat shoe.
