GREAT product for leg and lower back pain.
For over a year now I have had a lower back pain which I was told is piri forsis. The pain starts in the lower back and as I walk radiates down to my legs making walking INTENSLEY painful. I saw several doctors none of whom could really do anything (and physical therapy, yoga and chiropractor only helped for a day). This item was recommended by a friend (who I often call my holistic hippie contact), and I truly doubted it would do anything to help. But for lack of other options, I figured give it a try (as daily of codeine -Tylenol 4 - is NOT something I desired). I can not tell you exactly what this thing is doing or how it works. I can tell you it was a GREAT investment. Yes, I still have pain when I walk, but it has gone from a 7 or 8 (on a scale of one to 10) down to a very manageable 1 or 2 when I am out walking. The pain also takes longer to actually start (used to be in the first few blocks...now it does not even start till I am passed the 3 mile mark or on my feet for well over an hour). I am able to walk close to my normal older routine (which is about 5 miles every other day). It takes some getting used to the feeling because it is a little tight fitting, but I think that's what makes it so effective. But it can be worn under socks, or with sandals since its skin toned. After a few days, you can still feel it on, but is hardly noticeable to you. Jut make sure you actually wear it properly...make sure the fit is smooth with no bunching (as this will annoy you after a short bit). And if I wear it for a full day, usually the next day I can go without it with the effects still holding. I have been wearing it now for about 6 months, so my words are based on an actual lengthy duration of use (still on the original pair, so yes they are durable and long lasting).

Feels like a miracle!
I have been dealing with Plantar Fasciitis for about a year now. I am a tour leader, and thus am on my feet for hours, walking miles per day some days. The pain had gotten worse, but I was determined to make it better, so I began the task of researching all my options via the Internet. I looked at stretches, insoles, boots, and advice for staying off the foot (not an option for me). I did have a period of 6 weeks off from work recently that I intended to use to fix this problem to the extent possible, not intending to get much further than a reduction in pain. Most reputable sites (Mayo Clinic, NIH, etc.) tell the reader to expect a 10-12 month recovery period at the minimum. I started doing stretches. I bought a boot to wear at night (that thing, purchased from a major chain pharmacy, was fairly worthless, bulky and annoying to sleep with). I bought a pair of insoles to put into my walking/hiking shoes but I'm not sure how much they really helped since the shoes already had very good support. I tried to avoid walking long distances (more than around the house and into stores), especially without supportive shoes on my feet, and let me tell you, that's easier said than done. While I did notice an improvement in early morning discomfort, none of my efforts really felt like they would have benefited me in the long run when I returned to my work, being on my feet all day long. Finally I decided to give this little foot sleeve a try about 2 weeks prior to my return to work. I wish I had bought them sooner! Somehow the compression on this sleeve seems to not only support my arch when walking and putting pressure on the foot, but also to, for lack of a better way to put it, hold everything in place for proper healing when worn at rest (i.e. while sleeping). I wear it when hiking up to 6 miles per day plus general walking around time, take a break from it (since it is a compression device and the foot needs a chance to rest from it), and put it on to wear at night. Occasionally, I wake up in the night feeling a little rubbing sensation around my ankle or near my toes, but I'm able to take it off for immediate relief and go back to sleep. The instructions say to wear it no more than 8 hours straight, then remove for at least 1 hour before putting it back on. Since I have this issue in only one foot, I am able to alternate days with the pair, which hopefully gives the compression elastics a chance to recover. I hand-wash the sleeves and expect to replace them in 6 months or so, if still needed, based on the manufacturer's recommendation. Overall, I am beyond extraordinarily happy with this product. What I anticipated being a lengthy and possibly futile (given my profession) recovery period has turned out to be a short breeze. I have gone the last two days without wearing the sleeve because I forgot! That's how much better my foot feels. I'll make a point to wear it at night from now on until there is absolutely no hint/twinge of pain when walking in my less supportive, but cute, sandals, and always when working and walking long distances. I can't say enough about how well this is working for me.

OrthoSleeve + orthotics = pain gone!
This foot sleeve works wonders! I bought it to help alleviate some foot pain I was feeling after doing much walking during a trip. Before ordering, I made sure to order according to arch size, as recommended by others, and not by foot size. The sleeve fits like a comfortably tight hug but it's a compression sock so as long as my foot's not turning purple or blue, it's all good! After 15 minutes of wear, I noticed that my pain was not as severe, though still present. The sock has a slight chemical smell that goes away with a good initial hand wash. Since the pain was only in one foot, I keep the other one in the box until the first one gets worn out. For the first day, I wore the sleeve for two hours and then wore it at night for about four days, then for two weeks about four hours on, two hours off, and continued to wear it at night. If I ever had to go anywhere, I wore the sleeve with the Pedag Holiday 3/4 Leather Semi-Rigid Orthotic . On the third week, I stopped wearing the OrthoSleeve because my pain pretty much went away and it only felt tight on my foot. Now, I still wear the Pedag orthotics to help support my arches. Amazingly, this combo worked out and I never went to see a doctor (even though I should have, just in case). I'm not sure if I had a case of plantar fasciitis and/or fallen arches but orthotics + OrthoSleeve = pain gone! I really have to emphasize to others reading this that I did my research and made sure to measure my arches in order to get the proper compression sock and orthotics. There's also the arch test (google it) where you dip your foot in water and step on a paper towel. If the arch area is: mostly wet = low/fallen arches (tendency to pronate/walking angled inwards), somewhat wet = medium/average arch, mostly dry = high arch (tendency to supinate/walking angled outwards).

This product works very well for me
I now have 2 pairs of these and have recently ordered 2 more pairs (on the way). Obviously, I like this product a lot. But I am not using it the way many people are -- for plantar fasciitis. I am using it for degenerative osteoarthritis. I have a pretty bad case of it and it very much affects my feet. I walk a lot, usually 3 or 4 miles every day, and so my feet take a beating, even with good shoes and cushioned socks, and with soaking them. I have the customary swelling -- more aptly known as "thickening" -- in my feet that comes from this kind of arthritis, along with constantly aching feet at night. I wanted some kind of compression sock or sleeve to use at night. I like to sit and read, and I usually elevate my feet -- and I thought compression would help. These sleeves are perfect for me. I think it is vital to measure correctly. These DO NOT go by shoe size, and they DO NOT go by the circumference of your ankle. They are sized by the circumference of your ARCH; that's where you measure, from the bottom of your foot and arch up around the top part of your foot. The size chart on the box reads this way: S = 5 to 8 inches circumference; M = 7 to 10 inches circumference; L = 9 to 13 inches, and XL = 11 to 15 inches circumference. My circumference is 10.5 inches so I bought a large and they fit perfectly -- a little snug but not too tight at all. Quite comfortable after the first 30 minutes or so. Right now, I am using these at night for maybe 2 to 4 hours, and so far, they have really reduced the pain on the tops of my feet and the swelling there. For the first time in many months, I can actually get up and move around the house at night very comfortably and normally, and not feel that my feet hurt me with every step. I can get around generally fine during the day, but I used to dread the evening when I became less mobile. Now, I slip on my FS6 sleeves at home every night and feel about 90% better than I used to. These sleeves have just the perfect amount of compression for me (I would call it light since the material is 24% spandex and 76% micro-nylon), and they have improved the quality of my life a lot. I won't be without at least 2 pairs from now on.

SNUG and SUPPORTIVE
. SO FAR SO GOOD.. Previously, I Bought the small/MEDIUM "Feetures" brand (Feetures Plantar Fasciitis Single Sleeve Size S/M) It came as a single sleeve from Amazon, but for a few bucks more plus 8 for shipping I got this pair from ING Source. These are the exact same weave and size as the Feetures (it just says FS6 on the outside rim instead of Feetures.) Still, the Feetures single sleeve I bought has "FS6" stitched on the inside of the upper cuff.. So it is probably same manufacturer. I've been wearing it 24/7 for 2 weeks (obtaining noticeable results) (when i read reviews, I want to know product info - Size and Fit - not shipping ) Buy two if you need one, so you can have one in the wash. (they get spunky from being in shoe all the time) Hence, for comparison: My foot is 26.5 cm (not narrow, but not wide) Men's Shoe size 8.5 to 9.5 THIS Small/Med FITS GREAT!! Snug - Not too tight - Not too loose Many people with plantar fasciitis complain it lingers like an old war injury that never goes away. Unfortunately, the 1st 2 months I didn't do much other than a cheap silicone shoe insert.. And my problem got worse.. Now I am going into all out war against it, since it is lingering and I don't want to fight it the rest of my life. What i did to help cure my foot: SLEEP WEARING: JOBAR - Plantar Fasciitis Splint - THIS DESIGN WORKS - Toes pulled from higher up on the leg . Positives: 1. It does what it is supposed to. It actively draws-up toes to keep Fascia in a stretched position. 2. It is very inexpensive. Negatives: 1. Digs into leg at front of leg above shin (so it's not as comfortable as it could be) 2. Digs into foot at bottom of foot as the foot is pulled up. ALL in ALL: STRETCH arch and foot twice a day (at least) JOBAR brace - Nightly FEETURES Sleeve - 24/7 ORTHERA Orthotic - Daily (Orthera Dress Orthotic Inserts, Mens size 9.5-11) Ice - At night after work (reduce inflammation) [Frozen 1 liter bottle of ice rolling on ground with arch of foot.] Naproxin - Morning and Night (reduce inflammation) Update: Almost 1 1/2 yr late I can say plantar fasciitis 99% gone.. and yet still careful of what shoes i buy Note: photos of compression sleeve after many many hot machine washings.. even with bleach.. (see how the top hem came undone and yet it only made it slimmer to fit under socks)

Good for running, but not for night time compression
This is a mixed review because I have pros and cons regarding these compression sleeves. I came down with plantar fasciitis in both feet, as well as Achilles tendinitis (small tears) from running. It's been a long ordeal and I've received various forms of treatment. That being said, I purchased these sleeves after an employee at a running store said they worked for her. I bought them through Amazon because they were in stock and at a better price than the running store. I tried wearing them at night, as suggested. This was to keep my feet in a more flexed position while sleeping, so that the pain wouldn't be as severe in the morning. I attempted this on multiple nights, but could never get through a night without my feet beginning to ache from the tight compression. I would have to pull them off mid way through the night and then suffer through the pain in the morning when getting out of bed. So, for night time compression, they did not work for me. Now for the positive side of this: For my job, I had to take a physical fitness test, which requires me to do a sprint and a 2 mile run. There was no way I could get through it without pain or possibly causing more tears in my Achilles, so I wore these compression sleeves to get me through the test. They worked perfectly. I paid for it after I took them off, but for the test, they held everything together, especially my Achilles during the sprint. I will continue using these in the future for any running I am required to do. Hopefully everything will heal soon and I can avoid these altogether and get back to running!

Excellent!
Over the past year and a half I have had arthritis in both my ankles. I have tried every foot/ankle sleeve/support I could find locally. I tried all of them from CVS, Walmart, Target, and a nearby Medical supply store. They all had the same problem: they worked fine barefoot, but were too bulky to fit in my shoes comfortably unless I wanted to buy shoes 2 sizes larger. My foot and the support were too bound by my shoe and even though I did want support I did not want that much of a restricted range of motion. I started to have more pain because of the restriction. Now that's where these come in. I was sold a pair of these by my podiatrist and they were exactly what I needed. They give a good amount of support but are thin enough that you can wear them with normal socks and shoes without any issues at all. They aren't too bad looking either if you wanted to wear them with a pair of sandals or flip flops. I wear a size 13 shoe, sometimes in a slightly wider than normal size. I have pretty thick, but not very thick calves and ankles. The large size OrthoSleeve fits me perfect. They are a little hard to get on if your feet are moist or clammy. The company does not recommend leaving them on for more than 8 hours without a break(because of circulation), and I do agree, they start to hurt after more than 8 or 9 hours of wear. They also recommend hand washing them to extend their life. I hand wash them with mild soap (I use Dr Bronners for hand soap and this task) and hang to dry about once a week. I seem to wear out a pair every 6 months. Amazon is by far the cheapest I have found to purchase these. Half the price they are at my doctors. These are absolutely perfect for several foot problems. But please do not use these as a replacement for seeing a doctor if you have pain or swelling that is not ordinary for your health. It could be something more serious. My ankle arthritis was found to be caused by a disease called Sarcoidosis that had also negatively effected many other parts of my body. The arthritis is getting better with medication, but these still do help a lot. I highly recommend.

comparative review with Bitly compression socks, and comments about arch pain
I like these compression socks a lot. My foot measured right at the length where the Large and Medium meet. So I got one of each. I've used them both and if I had to choose I'd say the large is probably the better size. It's a bit long for my foot wanting to go over the ball, but the medium is really tight on the foot and left quite a mark after taking them off. Sometimes the tighter compression felt good, but I usually used the large. After a year and a half I had worn a hole in the ankle seams, and I bought this product to replace them: Bitly Plantar Fasciitis Socks (1 Pair) Premium Ankle Support foot Compression Sleeve (Large) . The Bitly socks are more comfortable. They're not as stiff and may be a slight bit thinner. The compression weave pattern is pretty much the same, though. You can see my pictures for a comparison--The Bitly is on my right foot and the FS6 on my left. As I wear them, the compression is stronger on the Bitly, but the FS6 has seen a lot more use, so that probably accounts for the difference.I would often wash them by hand in the sink, but sent them through the wash a few times when they were really dirty if I recall correctly. I always air dry them, though. I use the compression socks for relieving foot pain at times once in a while under the mid-foot but usually around the arch. They work well as treatment along with rolling exercises (e.g., rolling on a frozen water bottle, a baseball, or spiky ball, etc.). I don't wear them when rolling, but they help with comfort and circulation after rolling my feet. I've found that a very aggressive rolling session, while putting my feet in severe pain at the time, will make my arches feel nearly 100% better within a day or a couple days. And then I can run on them with no trouble. So if you're on this page because of arch pain from weak foot (fallen arches), that's my experience with helping remedy the pain.

Life saving product! Instant relief from pain and after a few weeks my condition is basically gone.
After suffering from significant foot soreness for 2+ years this simple product has all but solved my problem in a matter of weeks. I have been to see multiple doctors and podiatrists who made custom insoles for me. These have had no effect and possibly made the condition worse. I decided I had nothing to lose by trying this well reviewed product. As others have said, from the very first night I wore them there was a significant relief from the typical morning soreness I had felt everyday. After wearing the socks nightly for a couple months now, I can say that I have only a hint of soreness from time to time and for the most part have almost completely forgotten about my previously constant discomfort. I have even started jogging again with no adverse effects to my feet. I sometimes forget to put them on at night as there is no more discomfort to remind me. It says not to wear them more than 8 hours and I can confirm that after a certain time they can cause some minor discomfort. I have been putting them on just before bed and removing them when I wake up. Easily the best 20 bucks I've ever spent on Amazon. I only wish my podiatrists and doctors would have told me about this product which would have saved me a lot of pain and money. In addition to this product I have been wearing Dr. Scholl's insoles. The ones for high arches are what work for me, but I think each person's feet require a different model. I recommend trying several different insoles until you find the ones that work best for your foot type. Then order more of those.

Happy feet
I love these! I have been wearing them for about a month now. I can wear them with any shoes ( even flip flops) and gives my feet great support. They have made such a difference in my feet. At the beginning I wore them 24/7 but now I feel the need to wear them during the day at work. I have bought extras now that I see how great the first pair were.
