Solve numerous problems with simplicity
I have many issues with hand mobility and chopping fresh herbs or almost anything with a knife is almost impossible. This bowl solved so many issues for me. I made the best fresh herb egg salad in no time and no pain in one bowl. You have total control of how chopped everything gets by when you add it. I love this. I will use it for so many different things. Salads are a great start. The cutter is simple to use and allows you a certain flexibility in grip strength and angle for mobility issues or pain if you have these issues..It cleans up so easy and is an ample size for larger salads. I will keep this very handy..

Another Great Oxo Product - Works Great
A short while ago I tried a "chopped salad" in a restaurant and loved it, no overly large pieces of lettuce you have to stuff in your mouth [not so lady like] or cut with a knife! Thus the reason for my purchase. I debated over several "salad chopper" styles and decided to keep things simple and chose the Good Grips based solely on previous experiences with Oxo products. First, the bowl is really big....in fact its huge! Which is a plus as it can double as a mixing bowl [would be perfect for letting bread dough rise!] It is made of VERY STURDY plastic and is dishwasher safe. The cutters/chopper's blades are slightly larger than a pizza cutter blade and are also very sturdy. The blades roll smoothly and the angled design of the handle fits perfectly with the inside slope of the bowl's sides. All you do is dump all salad ingredients into the bowl and start rolling the cutting blades down the sides of the bowl. The salad can be chopped from coarse to fine depending on how long you continue rolling the blades. Yesterday, I made cabbage slaw with it and I think the uses are only limited to the imagination! You can make a salad in half the time it takes using standard methods. All in all I believe this is the best designed salad chopper, its easy to use and clean. I've never been disappointed in Oxo Good Grips products and this one is no exception.

This changed the way that I eat!
I know it seems silly to say that one kitchen tool changed the way that I eat, but it couldn't be any more true. I've always enjoyed salads, but at the same time, I didn't REALLY enjoy them until the last few bites where all of those goodies that you add have dropped to the bottom of the bowl. Pure heaven! Needless to say, I didn't eat much salad. Maybe two or three a week. When I purchased this bowl and salad chopper I wasn't sure what to expect. I put in a handful of baby kale, a handful of arugula (two greens that I generally couldn't stand that much of in my salad, but are a POWERHOUSE of goodness), and a handful of spinach. A couple slices of cucumber went in also, as well as half of a chicken breast, half of a hard boiled egg, about 5 or 6 dried cranberries, a pinch of nuts, a few shakes of badia complete seasoning, and a couple squirts of boar's head sandwich olive oil with herbs. Holy cow. Every bite was like that delicious salad at the bottom of the bowl! I have been eating salads for two meals a day ever since. As far as the actual product, it is very sturdy. When I saw that the bowl was plastic I was a little worried about how it would stand up to use with the chopper. I thought that perhaps the chopper would form grooves in the plastic bowl. So far, after two solid weeks of use, there is not a single scratch on the inside of the bowl. Clean up is a breeze as well, as nothing has stuck to the bowl at all. I even left a little salad in the bowl overnight by accident, and when I woke up in the morning it all easily wiped out with no scrubbing power at all. The only thing that I don't like about it is that you can't take the chopper apart to clean it. That said, I am able to take a toothbrush, put a little soap on it, and really get down into the grooves of the chopper with each use. It's not even a big enough drawback to remove a star.

Great Chopper!
So simple, so easy to clean. This non-electric (non-gimmicky) salad chopper does exactly what it claims. You can chop an individual salad or enough for a family and guests. The end result depends on how long the user chops. There is no learning curve....you start chopping, you watch the salad, you flip it over a little with the side of the blade, you chop again and stop when you like what you see. You can chop lettuce only or throw anything and everything in the bowl and chop it at once. We now eat chopped salads at every dinner and it's never failed me. I've thrown everything at it...onions, nuts, cherry tomatoes, hard cooked eggs, cheese, dried cranberries, celery, carrots, etc. I have learned to start with the hard stuff (celery, carrots, nuts) and throw in the soft stuff at the end (like the eggs or cheese). I never pre-chop entire salads for the next day, but I wouldn't do that with any chopper. There's no storage issue because the big, sturdy bowl stores with your other bowls and you can use it for anything (including trick-or-treat handouts). We've used this chopper many, many time and the blades thus far show no sign of dulling. I'm buying two for Christmas gifts.

Solid choice
Great salad bowl/chopper! As other reviews have noted, with the two bases it's a bit easy for food to get caught between the rollers. Took a little practice to get the movement right - I was expecting to roll this more but ended up having to use short rolls/small movements given the shape of the bowl. Made a great chopped salad, if slightly awkward to chop. Materials are extremely well made, seems like this will hold up well over time.

Bowl is the best part, well made as all OXO things are.
This bowl is great. With the bottom of the bowl being a smooth curve, it's great for chopping things with the roller or a regular messaluna. Really sturdy, with a nice base so it doesn't get away from you. The rolling cutter worked well, it's sharp, has a nice handle, but I don't think I'll keep it. I really just wanted the bowl, I also have a regular mezzaluna. I wanted to chop my salad, and that included baby carrots. With the roller, they'd just roll in front, not getting cut, so then I had to chop down on them instead, but then I might as well not have the roller cutter. In the end, I used the regular mezzaluna to chop my salad, and it was much easier. The main issue, though, was when I went to clean it, trying to clean between the blades was a bit scary, I kept thinking I'd get nicked by the blades in the process. If I have to worry about that every time I clean it, it's not worth it to me. But the bowl was worth the purchase.

Kale tamer
This is a great salad chopper. My jaw is very happy with no longer having to chew through the giant pieces of kale.

OXO salad chopper and bowl

Expensive but excellent product
Very expensive for what it is but my wife wanted one and frankly could not find an alternative. Having said it is expensive it is certainly fit for purpose, I imaged the bowl would get scratched to buggery but there's no marks at all on it and my wife is using this daily to make salads for her to take to work.
