Camping Tarp Tent Footprint Tarp Poles and Suction Cup Camping Supplies Camping Tent Review: Kept my tent dry - I bought this as an extra rainfly because our tent isn't so waterproof anymore. It worked great, we stayed dry. The rectangle shape was a little awkward for a 2 person tent with 2 vestibule. But it has plenty of hooks along the edge to tie it out as far as you need, so I made it work. The stakes are good quality, don't bend in hard ground. The rope is durable but nice and thin so it doesn't take up too much space. Black wouldn't be ideal camping in a very warm place, it heats up your tent. It was great for making the tent darker inside for sleeping before the sun went down. Review: Ideal Cold Weather Backpacking Set Up - Here's the package we bought below. We wanted to get lightweight, compressible gear (for backpacking in mountains for days), that's easy to set up, comfortable, and warm. Ever since we first tried this package out together, we were sold on it, and have used it ever since (January, February, March '21 backpackers this year). And I anticipate using it for a very long time going forward. We used this package on the Appalachian Trail and Rocky Mountains backpacking in single degree weather, and we were as warm being in our own house. No joke. We could not believe how warm and comfortable we were. It would even get hot at times (we had thermal top and bottoms on only) so we had to peek our head out a little to get some cool air. And comfort? So comfortable. We (my 15, 16, 19 yr old boys and I) are never going back to tent camping ever. This is too good. So easy too. No worries about wetness on the ground, rain hitting the tent, packing up a wet tent, sleeping on the hard ground (we even had super killer self-inflating camping pads are that are awesome, but it's still a degree of hardness because you're on DIRT!), mildew worries from tent moisture, etc. etc. The time it takes to set up and take down is incredible. Obviously, you need trees or some other structure to hook onto. But other than that, this is the way to go for us. Best of luck with finding your ideal set up. We found ours. Tarp is OK, included rope/lines are crap
We bought this tarp to extend the life of an older tent whose rain fly was no longer waterproof, even after re-treating it with water protectant. We erected this tarp over the old rain fly and it did the job - no water seepage inside the tent during rain. HOWEVER, the orange rope/lines that come with this tarp are total crap. They clearly are not UV-resistant. With only a few uses, the line disintegrated into scraps. We replaced the included lines with a reliable brand 550 paracord and the tarp is again secure. FYI, there has been some UV-decolorization on the tarp itself (sun-exposed vs non-exposed areas), so we'll have to monitor the level of UV-protection in the tarp material. Do yourself a favor - simply throw out the included lines or promise yourself you'll only use the cords inside and away from sun exposure. (Note: it is too early to know for sure, but the little black plastic cinch blocks that allow you to adjust the effective length of the lines seem to be more UV-resistant, so far, and might be re-usable with good quality replacement lines.)

Great rain fly for the price!
I have used and abused this rain fly for over 2 years. All sorts of weather, from sunshine to rain and snow. Itโs held up remarkably well considering the cost. Only on my last trip did it finally start to show signs of wear. Itโs kept me dry for many, many nights on my backpacking trips. It packs small and is relatively light considering the price point. If youโre on a budget, this is the rainfly to get!

An excellent value and great beginner tarp!
This is an outstanding camping tarp for the money. I tied this bad boy up over my hammock between two trees on an exposed ridgeline and it endured 20mph winds all night. It wasn't even loose in the morning and all the tie outs were perfectly intact. A pretty good testament to the durability of this thing. And the size is excellent. The only thing I would change about it is the number of tie out points. You can do the basic configurations but none of the fancy ones that require more than just halfway point tie outs on each side. Would buy again!

Must have.
This is a must-have if you camp or do much outdoors. I'd even recommend just keeping one in your vehicle. You can always use a tarp. This one is very light weight and very compact when bundled up. Makes a great improvised shelter for getting out of the rain or keeping your stuff dry. You can also use it as a ground cover if you need one. The ties held very well and it has a center tie-point. The stakes are really sturdy but for god's sake, make sure they're easy to see as they'll mangle your feet in the dark. I use brighter cordage so kids aren't tripping over them when we camp. I'll probably be buying another just to have in the truck.

Never been wet in the storm
I'm not sure how but everytime I go backpacking, it rains the first night. This rain cover has saved me on more than one occasion! I've camped on top of a mountain on a slope and down in a valley. As long as I set up the rain fly securely (tied the rope tight enough), I never felt a drop of water. The material has held up well, never ripping or tearing from trees, rope, or rocks that it occasionally got stuck on. If you enjoy camping/backpacking, this is definitely an item you would add to your pack! The only major heavy thing about it is the metal stakes. The tarp itself is very light. If you aren't looking for rain protection, this also works well just to help keep you warm if you are camping in hammocks.

Impressive quality and accessories for the price.
Lets get this out of the way right now- The rope this comes with is junk. It's most likely cheap polypropylene, as it's slick and stretchy. I'll keep the short guy lines, but the longer lines will get replaced with some double braid polyester I've got laying around. But I was expecting to toss it anyway, so it fine. The fly itself is pretty great. I set it up for a few days to see if any loops ripped out, and it's withstood the test. I would like if all intermediate tie down loops had the cool steel gromets, but I can live with the two short fabric loops. I'm not sure what the plastic hook is for in the middle on the underside, but that would be better as a fabric loop as well. Or a reinforcing patch for a pole would be great. The stakes are an added bonus. I figured they were getting scrapped, but the design is surprisingly strong yet light. If this lasts two years with light use, I'll be happy. I'll buy a new one for this price.
