Favorite Coffee! Great for those who like true coffee flavor
San Francisco brand French Roast coffee has been my go to coffee for years now. It consistently has an enjoyable bold, true coffee flavor and aroma. When visiting coffee houses trying coffees from different regions of the world is something I enjoy and it's so cool of an experience tasting the differences. Hanging out or frequenting those groovy little independent coffee shops is not easy now due to living in a rural area. While this coffee might not be some peoples choice, it works for me and works really well. It's definitely bold and full-bodied and sometimes I taste some sort of smoke aftertaste that's enjoyable. I roast my own coffee and am careful about selecting beans but haven't been able to find time to do that this year. When out of San Francisco French Roast coffee I literally freak for a minute and then search all over for anything with actual flavor that might be lurking forgotten in our coffee pantry. When I find all we have is my husbands Max... House breakfast blend it makes me cringe and take a deep breath knowing I didn't plan well enough to reorder and now will have to struggle through a cup of that weird flavor and weak taste until it can be replaced. This coffee arrives quickly once ordered, and is packaged carefully using recycled products. The pods are designed to work in single serve K-cup type brewers but they're environmentally better bc they don't have all that plastic that gets wasted. The tops are made of thick paper and the bottoms are made of a densely woven sort of paper netting. They work just fine and without any hiccups in my plain, single-serve, k-cup brewer. The pods are made to be recycled too. Each box contains, I think, 8 compostable bags and in each bag there are 10 single serve coffee pods. An added huge bonus comes when you open one of your bags and - poof! - out comes the intoxicating aroma of fresh ground, full-bodied coffee. So good!

Good coffee
Good coffee at an acceptable price. Good flavor although there are cheaper brands that are just as good.

Strong and Clean Taste
I enjoy the bold flavor of dark roast coffee. It has been difficult to find that good strong flavor in a k-cup, until now. These k-cups brew a delicious cup of coffee. It tastes like good percolated coffee. I also like that I can easily cut open the k-cup to access the grounds for my compost bin. The cups are "commercially compostable," which means the whole cup can be successfully composted by an industrial facility, but the entire cup will not break down properly in outdoor home compost. No worries, since these aren't encased in plastic, it is easy to access the grounds. If you are a fellow dark roast coffee lover, this k-cup provides richly dark colored, smooth, fresh coffee. The k-cups were not messy. I have an old Keurig which often requires me pressing down on the cup bin to ensure it brews properly, but I didn't have leftover grounds in the Keurig, and very few in my grounds at the bottom of my cup. Cheers!

I Approve :)
I've bought a few of the 80 cup variety packs now and I would recommend San Francisco Bay OneCups to my fellow coffee drinkers. I think overall, the coffee is great, but there are some downsides that others may not enjoy. Let's break this down shall we? ============= Flavors I've Had ============= Fog Chaser - 4/5 - Not as bold in flavor, but still has great flavor, very smooth. Breakfast Blend - 4/5 - Not the best breakfast blend I've had, but one of the top. French Roast - 5/5 - One of the best French Roasts IMO Rainforest Blend - 2/5 - Not a fan, but not the worst coffee I've had (better than instant) Espresso Roast - 5/5 - Love this one, very bold flavor and very smooth Donut Shop Blend - 1/5 - Definitely not a fan... I'll take Walmart instant over this Hazlenut Creme - 5/5 - The aroma and taste are fantastic ==== Pros ==== - Compostable which is pretty cool - Most of the flavors are awesome - Fantastic aroma - Great price - Variety packs available (mix it up every few cups) ==== Cons ==== - Some grounds seep through the filter and sit at the bottom of the cup (I don't mind this, but I know others do). - The bottom of the cup is open mesh, so you do not want to store these in the open air (e.g. in a K Cup holder. I store mine in a loose leaf tea jar). - I had one cup open up inside the bag, so opening the bag was a bit of a mess (one cup out of about 240 I've had so far)

Good coffee for K cups
Really good coffee. One of the best Kpods I have found. They are not stale and the flavor is robust.

Went one year without SFB French Roast (forgive me)
After trying many coffees my wife brought home, I finally found one I genuinely enjoy. I love rich coffee with lots of cream, and this one doesn't taste watered down when I add cream. The fresh smell of coffee when opening the sealed package brings back good memories, making me feel more connected to the experience. Each pod is actually strong enough to make 2 cups, which makes me feel like I'm getting good value.

Taste good and environmental friendly
Love this coffee. it’s environmental friendliness also with less plastic in the pod.

Not bad, but decidedly unlike any other K-Cup product
Full disclosure - I worked briefly for the people who make this product back in the late '70s. Since I had a personal connection to the product, I really wanted to like it. And it's not bad - it's OK, but it's just a bit odd. First off, the packaging. These aren't your father's K-Cup, where it's an actual cup. These have a top like the traditional cup (so they'll fit in the brewer) but the bottom is completely different. It's almost more like a filter than a cup, and kinda rounded rather than cup-shaped. They come in sealed plastic bags of twelve, so you need to keep them in a ziplock bag or some kind of airtight container once you open the bag, unless you're planning on using them all right away. Second, the flavor. It's OK, not bad at all, but it just tastes a little off for some reason. A hint of odd flavor. Also, it seems to lack body, for want of a better term. It doesn't have that rich, full, satisfying flavor I expect from a good cup of French Roast. Lastly, it seems to leave more sediment in the bottom of the cup than traditional K-Cups - not sure if that's a by-product of the design or what. Bottom line - it's not like I'm going to throw them away. I'll keep them and drink them, but I probably won't buy them again. I much prefer the flavor of just about any regular K-Cup to these, even non-premium brands like Folger's. UPDATE: After drinking my way through the whole case and comparing them with other K-Cup products, I have a bit more appreciation for these and might consider buying them again, particularly given the excellent price of around 38 cents a cup if you use Subscribe and Save. One other point I neglected to mention in my original review is that these seem to produce more "crema" - the brownish foam that appears on top of a good cup of coffee - than most K-Cup products. Keep an eye out for my reviews of the Rainforest Blend (which I found somewhat weak and flavorless) and Fog Chaser (which just arrived and I've yet to sample) varieties coming soon.
