Why is this over half off vs the Zwilling website? Is it fake?

Zwilling is often discounted between 40-60%- Zwilling often has similar discounts direct on its website.  I purchased this on Amazon for $50 at one point. It is real.

How wide is this blade? Need to know slot size in my knife block

Accepted Answer

The widest portion of the blade (near the handle) is 1 15/16". A 2" wide slot will be needed. Since this is "Pro" series knife, block needs to be suitable for "Pro" knives to fit properly.

what's the difference between the “regular hollow santoku” and a hollow “rocking santoku”?

Accepted Answer

Asian blade styles are generally designed  for either forward push/chop and lift cuts, (santoku, nakiri), on vegetables. Thus, you pass the blade through the food. Western Chefs knives blade styles have varying degrees of round curvature in the “belly” of the blade to facilitate rocking the knife while keeping the tip on the board. Thus, you pass the food through the blade. Additionally, Chefs and kiritsuki knives both have a drop/clip tip for fine detailed work.
What is being termed a “rocking santoku”, is a fusion of these styles, to create a “one knife solution for most tasks performed by most  people, most of the time. So, you may push cut, chop, rock cut and slice a bit then use the wide blade as a spatula to transfer.
At seven inches with a two-ish mm spine, in steel with a hardness 57-58 to 60-61, hollow or flat ground, beveled at 11 or 22 degrees. It could be a “Goldilocks” knife! YMMV...

We dropped this knife on the butt and cracked the end of the handle below the rivet.  Can this be fixed?
