SAFAVIEH Himalaya Wool Area Rug 5x8, Modern Striped Ivory HIM413A

This is a beautiful, thick rug. The color is definitely true to the pictures and not the “gray/olive” name. It is a muted blue/teal with ivory and flecks of olive mixed in. The blue is more evident in natural light, but I’d always call it blue and not gray. It will go well with beiges as well as grays, and could blend with most blues that you may have in your decor. It’s soft and quite neutral, for a color. The pattern will likely hide stains pretty well. Quality seems great. Really happy with this!

Firstly, the rug we received is good quality, nice thickness and feels comfortable underfoot, it’s fairly soft and makes the room feel cosy.. Second, the colour appears different in every light, ranging from light grey, to a yellowish beige. It’s mottled with all sorts of grey and black specks and flecks running through it. We would have preferred the base colour to be a lighter less yellow colour, like advertised. However, the other reviews made us aware to expect the colour to be off, and overall it still goes with the rest of the furnishing, so we decided to keep it, the quality being the deciding factor. Lots of fluff in the vacuum every time so far, this should reduce over time. The colour issue is likely the reason for the cheap price, so we reasoned you can’t have everything! Hope this helps you if you are considering purchasing this rug.

I’m happy with this wool rug. I have steam cleaned it twice now (once every 6 months) with regular steam cleaner solution. One oxy clean carpet cleaner and another of “resolve” brand. Nothing special. It dried in about 2-4 hours which was faster than other rugs. Really happy about that. It didn’t lose color or discolor at all with steam cleaning. I had some full vacuum canisters for the first few months which I really don’t care about. The carpet doesn’t seem to have lost any volume/density. It didn’t lose fluff onto our clothes or socks during that time. I really like the edges and how they don’t catch or roll up at the edges in my high traffic homestead/farm/rural home. I’ve had other rugs that are good quality catch at a corner and my family just will not leave it alone. I’m so glad this one stays down! I have a run-of-the-mill shark rocket vacuum I use on it. It doesn’t really fluff up when I vacuum which would feel satisfying but it gets clean and not much dust underneath like most rugs collect. So it seems to be cleaning thoroughly. It is soft which was a must since we lay down on it a lot and my husband play wrestles with the kids. I loved the value/price. It has done very well with our big dogs on it and even the cats decided to give it some good hearty scratches and it still looks good.

The quality is absolutely awful. The material is super itchy and uncomfortable to walk on barefoot. It sheds excessively, producing tons of fibers and dust that linger in the air – if you or anyone in your home has asthma or allergies, this will trigger constant coughing. It also seems to dry out the room noticeably. While the gray color and pattern are a bit busy for my taste, that wasn’t my main issue – the poor construction and shedding are the real problems. To make matters worse, returning this heavy rug is a huge hassle. You can’t just drop it off; you have to contact customer service, explain the issue, and wait for them to arrange a UPS pickup. Otherwise, you’re stuck paying outrageous return shipping fees (potentially $100–$150) for a product that’s essentially worthless due to its flaws. Save yourself the frustration – avoid this rug entirely. The low quality isn’t worth the risk The photo is not even from the real shed of this rug . The photo is from 20 min after vacuuming the house and immediately noticed the sheds in 5-6 min

I purchased a pink color rug. However, the color is not pink at all. It is brown. Unfortunately, I will keep it because returning it can be a hassle due to the weight and the size. By the way, the rug shed a lot more than expected.

THE BEST! I went from rug to rug and finally found the one that worked. This is off white enough and the ABSOLUTE PERFECT SIZE! Thank you

So this rug looks really nice and is very soft on the feet, but it sheds fibers with every vacuum. At some point there won’t be any rug left.
