Has a high quality feel, and is pretty heavy. I found the carrying case to be a nice bonus, and all the attachments fit with ease, and all store away conveniently in the case. The inclusion of the scissors, and the barbers cape were much appreciated too. As a guy who hadn’t had a haircut since pre covid, my hair was extremely long. I kinda used it as an excuse to grow my hair out one last time as an adult, and take advantage of it I did. I felt like if I was going to cut it, I wanted to do it myself. Plus, even at run of the mill places, a haircut is still at least $20, although, my regular place pre covid was roughly $35. Meaning, in just two or three cuts, this set of clippers has already paid for itself. I was a little nervous at first, but after preparing myself mentally, I had no issue going through with it. I appreciate the level of power this set of clippers has, it’s legit, and it’s something you could expect to see your barber to using. The power cable is pretty huge, and heavy. For someone looking to cut hair all day, I suppose I could see the weight being an issue. But, as someone who is using this for personal use, it’s perfect. I have a Chow Chow, and I’m fairly confident that I could use this set of clippers to shave him with no issues. Of course, I feel like power is rarely questioned, since this isn’t a cordless set of clippers. For the money, I felt like this was a great buy, and definitely worth every penny. The combination of bonus items, from the case, the barbers cape (which I didn’t use, but quickly regretted not using) the scissors, and all the attachment's, make this an easy recommendation. For now, I just use one size all over, but hopefully in time, I can become more confident and more comfortable and use different sized blades on the sides, and top. TL;DR: High quality clippers with lots of blade attachments, scissors, barbers cape, and a convenient stowaway case. It’s simple to use, and cuts great, even for someone like myself who had never used a pair of clippers on anything. The weight, feel, and quality are similar to what I’d expect a professional to use. For the price, it’s hard to beat, and I give it my full recommendation. Just make sure you oil the blades, and clean it up nicely after using. It should last you a very long time with proper care and maintenance. And it should only take two or three cuts before it pays for itself. If you’re new like I was, I’d recommend checking out some YouTube tutorials on tips and techniques for cutting your own hair. I’m a barber and I totally recommend the Wahl Pro kit if you buzz your hair or cut your kid/husband’s hair. I bought this set a few days ago strictly for the clipper guards. They’re the new “Elite” line of guards that have a metal clip on them and sturdier teeth. They’re miles better than the guards you’ll get in any other set. They also have a smoother ground tip on the teeth, so less poking. The set of guards alone would run you $35. The clipper itself is also great for the price. It’s definitely a budget model, but it uses the same magnetic motor that the professional line uses, although it’s likely the v5000 model instead of the v7000 or v9000 model in the Super Taper or Seniors. It has a precision cut blade, which is more forgiving than the surgical/fade blade most barber will use. It also has a considerably better power cable than any other clipper you’ll get in the price range. As far as I could tell, the cable is the same gauge as on my Wahl Seniors. As long as you brush out the blade and oil it after every use before letting it sit, it should honestly last a lifetime for home use. Seniors can last decades of use at 20 cuts a day, and these clippers aren’t that drastic of a step down in build quality. As far as the extras are concerned, the comb is fine, and the cape will be very useful if you usually find yourself just wrapping someone in a towel. It comes with a small bottle of oil which should last a home user awhile. All it takes is a couple of drops of oil WHILE THE CLIPPER IS ON to let it work through the cutting blade. All together, it is a fantastic home hair cutting kit, and you won't find a better clipper kit at this price.

My wife is not a hair dresser but she helps cut my hair and these clippers are still going strong. They've paid for themselves many, many times over. What I love most is how reliable they are. The motor is powerful, and they cut through my hair (which isn't the easiest to manage) without any snags. The self-sharpening blades are a lifesaver; they've stayed sharp all these years. The guide combs are also really sturdy. The stainless steel clips give me confidence that they won't pop off mid-cut, which is a huge plus. And the long cord? It's a small thing, but it makes a big difference when you're trying to reach all those angles. The whole kit is pretty comprehensive. When I was younger my wife used to cut my hair. Now I get my haircut at the barber shop to save her the work. But with COVID-19 in full effect, I found myself once again leaning on my wife. My current unit has a quick release blade to allow for better cleaning after use. While cleaning the unit with the blade removed, I knocked the blade by accident and it fell to the floor. The drop was counter height (about 3 feet), and the plastic clip that attaches the blade to the handheld unit broke off. Knowing I would most likely need another cut in 4-5 weeks, I began my search for a replacement. I looked locally at the big box stores first only to find that I was not alone in needing personal grooming equipment. With experience from my last mishap, one of my requirements was to be that the clips need to be metal. This narrowed my options greatly. Online search brought up mainly professional grade clippers for business use, and attached with them were professional grade prices. After a quick check online with the Membership Warehouses, I happened upon a combo set of Clipper and Beard trimmer by Wahl that fit the bill. It was on sale for forty bucks! Two days after placing my order, I was informed that they were sold out. Knowing that Wahl makes clippers with metal clips, I began my research with Wahl products and settled on this one. Don't get me wrong, everyone was still sold out everywhere, but I began a weekly search in case inventory was replenished. Amazon was the first to post availability. It was a pre-order with stock expected in mid-May, but it was good enough for me. I placed my order immediately. Good thing too, I checked my order that same evening and the pre-sale was sold out. There isn't much to clippers, pretty much blades and a motor. So my focus will be mainly on these two things. This clipper was used 3 times since it arrived and my wife is pretty impressed with it. It's got a good weight to it at about 1 lb and the motor isn't too loud. For the blades, this set claims to have self sharpening blades made of stainless steel! 3 uses and still no tearing out my hair, so no complaints from me. As for the motor, it's powerful enough to move the blades quickly enough to not pull at my hairs. I think it's worth mentioning here that my hair is considered thick and coarse. As I mentioned before, the motor is relatively quiet, and while the unit does heat up, it doesn't get too hot. The other good thing about this set is that it's backed by a 5 year warranty. On the downside, there isn't much to say right now. After 3 uses, nothing went wrong. And with a 5 year manufacturers warranty, I don't expect many issues to come. The guide combs range from 1.5mm (No. 1.5) to 1 inch (No. 8), and they all have metal clips. If I had to nit-pick at some improvements, I'd say that the blade cover could be of better design. I found it difficult to put on after cleaning it. Oh and the cleaning brush, it would have been nice if they provided a larger one in addition to the small detailed brush. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase. The unit performs well and doesn't break the bank. It's a great balance of quality and affordability for the average home user.

Really great cuts hair super well!

Sadly, this review is not a good one. I have been cutting my own hair for over 25 years, and my sons hair for almost 10. I have been through a fair amount of clippers in that time, trying to find the highest quality. I had previously had a professional series Wahl that I paid over $100 for that lasted me about ten years. Phenomenal clipper. So when that one finally died, I ordered this Wahl Elite Pro as it looked similar, had great reviews, and I like the metal clips on the attachments as several of my old ones broke as they were only plastic. Unfortunately, name is the only thing this Wahl shares with the last one I had. This new Wahl Elite Pro is a piece of garbage. My last Wahl would cut everything. You made one pass with that clipper up the side of your head, and you clearly saw where it went, because all the hair, was cut in one pass. I cut my hair this morning with this new Wahl 0Elite Pro, and after the first cut, if I hadn't heard the motor running I would have thought it was not powered on. There was just a few hairs on the clipper/in the sink, and you couldn't see any difference on my head from where I had cut and where I hadn't! My hair was a little over an inch long, and I was using the 1/16" guard, so leaving it at stubble length. My old Wahl took me about 10 minutes to cut my hair from start to finish. My hair would be mostly the right length in about 5, then I would spend 5 finishing it: getting areas where I couldn't see as well and had missed some, trimming the neck and beard, etc. Today, with the new Wahl Elite Pro...nearly an hour to get it all done. After about 45 minutes of fighting with this thing and hoping it would start working, I pulled out my beard trimmer, and finished cutting my hair with it. I tried to adjust the power with the "screwdriver" handle on the brush, and the tip twisted off. So I grabbed a real screwdriver, and no difference. This isn't a hair clipper, it is a motorized power comb. Pros: Nice case Metal clips on attachments Cons: It doesn't cut hair. Kind of a problem for a hair clipper. I am hoping, based on the other reviews, that mine is simply a lemon. But it is certainly nowhere near the other reviews I have seen. This will be getting returned today, and I will try a different brand. I have used Wahl for over a decade with great performance. No more. This one is SO bad, they either sent me a complete piece of garbage, or Wahl has removed all quality from their products. Because this Wahl Elite Pro, is an Elite piece of junk.

Item returned as not suitable for Australian 240v power despite several websites indicating the Wahl model I purchased was suitable for 110 - 240v. Amazon have agreed to replace the item as damaged when powered into 240v.
