Great feeder (replaced flowers) *WARNING*: Dishwasher heat will warp red plastic pieces!!!
Best looking feeder Iโve found thatโs well made and functional. I originally purchased mine in 2023 and still really like it. โ ๏ธ WARNING โ DISHWASHER HEAT: Do NOT put the red plastic pieces in the dishwasher unless youโre using a lower-temperature cycle. High water temperatures can warp and misshape the plastic. If youโre unsure, check your dishwasher manual for the wash-cycle temperatures. My Bosch has an โEcoโ cycle that uses its lowest water temperature (113โ122ยฐF), which hasnโt damaged mine. The CrystalDry cycle (135ยฐF) hasnโt damaged them either. ๐ธ REPLACEMENT FLOWERS: I wasnโt a fan of the original flowers, so I replaced them with soft silicone ones from Perky-Pet. They fit this feeder even though it isnโt a Perky-Pet feeder, and their smaller feeding holes also helped deter bees. Unfortunately, Perky-Pet doesnโt appear to sell those silicone replacement flowers anymore. Natureโs Way DOES still sell soft replacement flowers that fit this feeder, though! Theyโre very affordable. You can order them directly from the Natureโs Way website (natureswaybirds.com), although youโll have to pay for shipping, or use their store locator to see if a retailer near you carries them. ๐ฉโ๐ณ EASY HUMMINGBIRD NECTAR RECIPE This is the easiest large-batch method Iโve found because you only have to heat enough water to dissolve the sugar! Youโll need: โข 1ยฝ cups plain white granulated sugar โข 6 cups water (tap or spring water is fine) โข Large glass measuring cup (4-cup/32-oz) โข 2-qt glass pitcher or jar with lid Directions: 1. Microwave 2 cups water in the glass measuring cup until boiling. For my microwave, it typically takes 5โ6 minutes. 2. Stir in 1ยฝ cups sugar until completely dissolved. 3. Pour into your pitcher and add 4 cups cold water. 4. Mix well, date the lid & refrigerate. This makes the standard 1:4 sugar-to-water ratio recommended for hummingbirds. Use only plain white granulated cane or beet sugar (hummers typically prefer cane sugar) โ no honey, artificial sweeteners or red dye. Store extra nectar in a clean, covered container in the refrigerator for up to 7โ10 days; discard sooner if it becomes cloudy or shows any sign of spoilage. IMPORTANT: Sugar water can spoil rapidly, especially in summer heat. Mold and fermented nectar can make hummingbirds seriously ill, so if you canโt commit to regularly changing the nectar and cleaning the feeder, itโs better not to put one out. A few hummer tips ๐ฅฐ: โข ๐ก๏ธ Change nectar immediately if it becomes cloudy or contaminated. Otherwise, temperature is a helpful guide: 60โ70ยฐF: every 5โ6 days 70โ80ยฐF: every 3โ5 days 80โ90ยฐF: every 2 days 90ยฐF+: daily When in doubt, change it sooner! โข ๐ Fall migration/cool-weather tip: Keep nectar at a 1:4 ratio while itโs still hot outside. When daily high temperatures are consistently below 70ยฐF, some hummingbird experts introduce a 1:3 mix for migration fueling. โข ๐งผ Clean the feeder thoroughly between every refill. If itโs not dishwasher-safe, take it apart so you can clean the ports and crevices where mold can hide. Rinse extremely well before refilling. Periodically disinfect, and deep-clean immediately if you see mold or slime. โข โ๏ธ Shade/weather domes help keep nectar cooler, slow spoilage, and protect it from rain. Avoid placing feeders in direct afternoon sun whenever possible. โข ๐ Keep garage doors closed when possible, especially during migration. Hummingbirds can become trapped because their instinct is to fly upward while looking for an escape. โข ๐ฟ If one gets trapped, a large leafy branch can give it a natural place to perch while you gently guide it toward the open door. This happened to us, and the tree-branch method is what ultimately worked. โข ๐ซ Never add red dye. The red on the feeder is enough to attract them. โข ๐ Bee stings can be lethal to hummingbirds, so if bees/yellowjackets take over, avoid yellow feeder accents and choose feeders with red feeding ports. Bees donโt perceive red the way we do, making red less attractive to them. Bee-resistant port designs can also help. โข ๐ Ant guards are SO much easier than constantly refilling water moats. I like Perky-Petโs AntGuard because it doesnโt require water. Another waterless option is the BugSnub Hanging Ant Guard. And if you love hummingbirds, I HIGHLY recommend watching Hummingbirds: Jeweled Messengers, narrated by David Attenborough and available to watch on Amazon Prime Video. Itโs fascinating and I learned so much from it! โค๏ธ๐ฆ

The Birds Will LOVE It!
The More Birds Bird Health+ Ruby Hummingbird Feeder is absolutely beautiful and has been a fantastic addition to our outdoor space. The ruby red glass design is vibrant, elegant, and instantly attracts hummingbirds while also adding a decorative touch to the yard or garden. The quality of the feeder exceeded my expectations. The glass feels sturdy and well-made, and the overall construction is durable enough for outdoor use in changing weather conditions. The feeding ports are designed very well, allowing hummingbirds to feed comfortably while helping keep the nectar cleaner and fresher. One of the best features is how easy the feeder is to fill and clean. The wide opening and simple design make maintenance quick and convenient, which is very important for keeping hummingbirds healthy and returning regularly. Since putting this feeder up, weโve had frequent hummingbird visits throughout the day, and itโs been wonderful watching them gather around it. The feeder holds a good amount of nectar while still being compact and attractive. Overall, this is an excellent hummingbird feeder with beautiful craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and dependable performance. Highly recommend the More Birds Ruby Hummingbird Feeder to anyone who enjoys birdwatching and wants a stylish, high-quality feeder for their outdoor space!

Great hummingbird feeder
I've got a pair feeders with metal bases. Dang things are all tarnished and rusty inside and out after only two seasons. So I got one of these. Love this thing. Seems very well made. Good fitment between all pieces. Base is fully plastic, so no opportunity for rust or corrosion. Cleans easy. I like the glass bottle as well. There's a reason this is the number one seller on Amazon. It's a great feeder. I have a high feeder in the yard and a lower one on a shepherd's hook type thing. The hummingbirds have always preferred the high one. I replaced the low one, mostly because it's easier to get to. The birds are definitely favoring the new one. I already have a second one in my cart. I hope this review is helpful to you in making your hummingbird feeder purchase. Take care. :) Update (May 2024): I don't know what it is with the darned flies this year in San Antonio, TX, but they are bad. They have been crawling down into the sugar water. Gross! Was trying to come up with some 3D printable or off the shelf solution and came up empty. So got to thinking about what may work. I have some 24G stainless steel wire. Chucked it up in a drill and twisted it to give it some rigidity. Cut little short pieces at a slight angle to make the ends sharp. Popped out each "flower" and each rubbery piece. Ran that little wire across the lumen right under the rounded rim of the purple piece kinda right at the white flower/purple rim interface) and clipped it. Uploaded a pic. Can see the newly added thin wire running horizontally across the port. Of course, was concerned the birds wouldn't be able to get their beaks into the good stuff. So filled them up a bit, let the fluid settle, then marked the fill line on the bottle, and waited. Good news, the feeders were getting hit. Better news, after an hour or so, the fluid level was noticably lower. Pretty happy how it turned out. Will see how it does to prevent the danged flies from getting in there. Still a five star feeded. Much more action on these than my old ones, but the access ports perhaps could be a little narrower or have a bug guard designed into them.

Great feeders, poor packaging
This is the second set of feeders I have gotten from Bird Health. The first set had lasted for 3 years, but were starting to show wear. One base had a crack in it. My little hummers seem to really like these feeders. They work well and are very easy to maintain and keep clean. They do not leak like some other feeders I've had and standup to hot weather well. My only disappointment with this order was the way they came packaged. Both feeders were loose in the box with just the paper packing to keep them from knocking against each other. Original pair candy in individual boxes. Overall they are good feeders and worth the money.

Easy to fill
The glass sugar water container unscrews from the base to refill. The red plastic top it hangs from just threads on to the top, so it's easy to carry back outside, and then invert it for the feeder part to fill. This is the easiest hummingbird feeder to fill and use that I've had, and I've gone through quite a few over the years. A quarter cup of sugar to a cup of water fills it about right. I recommend this feeder. The top serves as an ant moat, but evaporates quickly in hot weather. Amazon also sells an ant moat that holds about a quarter cup of water, with a hook on each end so the glass moat can hang on the branch and the feeder hangs below it. I've never had a problem with ants using this system. I recommend that extra moat too.

Simple and easy
This is the best hummingbird feeder Iโve used. It has an ultra simple design making it easy to fill and keep clean. Because it uses glass itโs more attractive and you donโt need to worry about stains like you would see with plastic. It still lightweight though. No leaks either. I pointed a camera at mine to record the activity.
