Tortoise House Habitat Wooden, Chicken Coop with Run Rabbit Hutch Small Animal Hutch Enclosure Indoor/Outdoor-Grey + White Trim

I needed something to serve as a duckling brooder after another option failed. This product had all the features I needed so I took the chance despite other reviews. First, it was very easy to put together. Took me about 45 minutes with a standard screwdriver. The pieces are labeled and the directions are decent. It's easy to clean & move. Convenient access for changing food & bedding. Prospective buyers should know a few things: -This cage is absolutely not waterproof. It is not appropriate for ground contact and will not protect your animal from rain. If you decide to attempt this you'll need to seal the wood and use tarp or pressure treated lumber underneath. I have it under cover on concrete so this wasn't a concern for me. -I can't speak for mammals but it's perfect to brood up to (6) chicks or ducklings for the first 4-6 weeks of their lives, but that's it. It's not tall enough for mature chickens or ducks. -A heat plate is fine, but this does not appear safe to use with a heat lamp. The metal bars can melt.

We use this for his outdoor habitat in the spring and summer months. It's held up well under the intense TX summer heat and the multiple heavy rain storms. I would highly recommend weatherproofing it if you plan to leave it outdoors. I have moved it several times without any issues to the frame but you have to do this carefully. The only con I have found is the bottom board that goes into the closed section has become easily warped with rain which is natural I suppose. On a good note, it can be easily replaced with another small piece of board.

I bought this enclosure for my red footed tortoise. I like the design and it was for the most part easy to assemble, but I would have liked for parts to be labeled as shown in the instructions. It took less than an hour to put together. I plan on placing it outside during the warmer months of the year and move it inside the garage when it gets colder. My only disappointment is that one of the pieces was bent and we had to bend it back with pliers to make it fit. Also the wooden parts had a very strong pine smell. Overall I am happy with my purchase and hope it’s not falling apart 6 months from now.

I did a little customization by painting a little desert mural on the back panel before I put it together. In his previous enclosure which was glass, I had put a painting behind it, and I had started to notice he’d come out just to look at it! So I had to paint him his own scene when I got this :) It took a bit of time to put it together but it really wasn’t bad, and the directions were pretty good. I didn’t have a power drill so I did it all by hand and it still wasn’t bad. It’s very sturdy when all together and looks so nice! Even my little grump of a tortoise is very happy with it. In the big open part I put down some self-adhesive pieces of tan felt to give him some grip but also to be soft. And in the fully enclosed part I put a good inch and a half of playsand, then a couple inches of coconut bedding and topped it off with a layer of cypress mulch. He loves digging and burrowing down into that. Tortoises should have their basking spot to be around 100 degrees F and between 70-80 degrees F on the cool side. This enclosure is big enough for him to thermal regulate properly! The basking spot is right at 100 degrees, the middle is 80 and the opposite side is just over 70. I was worried it was going to be too small but it’s actually perfect! I highly recommend this if you need a nice, sturdy, good-looking small enclosure.

It’s real pretty and was easy to assemble. Even though some holes where in the wrong spot. It’s not treated wood and do not think it’s going to hold up in any kind of rain. Not sure how it’s made for outdoors. Seems like it will easily warp.

Amazing product. We'll built and easy to assemble. The size is absolutely perfect because I use it for my tortoises indoors. We added walls and a bottom with ease. And it's not heavy so very mobile.

Absolutely LOVE!!! I had bought to use as a Joel Salatin type chicken tractor but I’m seeing SO MANY possibilities for use! We bred chihuahua and this would be a perfect welping box. I’m also going to recommend it as a puppy pen for our clients. Great room for small dog or pup. Also for outside potty training. Do their business and move the pen easily. The construction is light weight and easy to move also it really is put together very well. I sure couldn’t build it for this price! Also I don’t know if it’s sprayed with a ceder smell to detract bugs or actual cedar but I LOVE IT!!! Oh and it’s pretty roomy! I have 15 teenage chicks in there and it’s got good room to grow. Even better than I hoped for!!

Let’s just say my first review was rejected for profanity. That’s how strongly I feel about the poor quality of this product. Everything that you should know so you won’t buy this product: 1. The latch was smashed in production. 2. Four holes were drilled incorrectly and I had to drill them myself. 3. Two holes were missing completely and I had to drill them myself. 4. The front “door” is not a door. It’s just a “ladder.” It can’t be closed. 5. There is mismatched yellow wood glue all over it. 6. The screws are very poor quality. I had to use mostly screws of my own. 7. The top was misaligned. There are gaps when it’s shut. 8. The wood is very rough and thin. 9. The instructions are hard to comprehend. 10. The assembly was so frustrating that it took me three hours to assemble. Ten very non-profane reasons not to buy. Please heed my warning! This will serve its purpose (holding a tortoise) for maybe a year. If you want something permanent, keep looking. This is not your product.
