Phenomenal Grill!!!!!
I normally do not write reviews, as either I enjoy the product and do not take the time or the product was o.k. to sub-par and choose to work it out with the vendor if I have to. That being said, this grill is AMAZING! First off, once I set the temp I can forget it for indirect cooking. I have great temperature control and can get the high heat I need for searing steaks as well as slow and low if I choose to slow roast (although I do have a smoker for this). The grill has plenty of usable grilling area and the smoker box does well for a quick hit of smoke for steaks, chicken, fish, and kabobs. The grill rotisserie motor does it's job and spit roasting is a breeze! Because all of the important grill parts are stainless steel, cleaning the grill is a snap as well. I usually just get it to 550 degrees and brush the grates, but every 2 weeks clean the drip tray, and thoroughly clean the interior and exterior. When cleaning I almost feel as if I wouldn't have to clean the grill and it would still last at least through the 10 year warranty. The side burner works as expected....not over or underwhelmed by it, and there is ample storage for grilling accessories. This is my first Weber, and plan on adding another for a secondary outdoor kitchen. Worth the money, every cent. I would buy 500-600 grills and have to replace after 4-5 years. This one, I do not anticipate replacing in 20 if at all. I have included some dishes I or my wife have already made using this grill.

Great grill- delivered damaged-poor customer service
I'll start by saying that I've never written a review before, not my style. But this situation has me shaking my head. I ordered this grill through the Home and Garden club -Amazon Marketplace. The grill was not delivered on the date promised, arrived 2 days later. Almost a month for delivery, not the 5-7 days indicated originally. Really bad communication breakdown with delivery service, not the end of the world, but not what we've experienced in the past from Amazon. Finally get the grill! Delivery guys were pleasant and gone. It took over an hour to get everything out of the many boxes, and upon inspection we noted 2 damaged parts on the grill. Apparently, we should have had the delivery guys stand there while we inspected every part of the grill. Our mistake. We immediately sent an e-mail to Amazon. Their response requested pictures and an explanation, fine. Sent off another e-mail with pictures. Now is when it got interesting. The response read "There is no need to replace these damaged parts because it does not effect the performance of the grill"....WHAT? Really? We buy a $2000.00 grill and should just let it go because hey, your grill works, quit your whining!. Wow. Thats like a car salesman saying "I know the windows are missing in your new car , but it still drives doesn't it"? Amazon follows that by saying "usually they would call Weber and arrange for the parts to be delivered, but since this repair requires a technician, I now need to call Weber directly".They also indicate that "Weber will arrange for a technician to come out and repair the unit quickly and easily"....Great news! So, I call Weber. They will send parts in 7-10 days, but tell me that I will be repairing the grill as they don't usually send out a tech for these types of repairs! The service rep indicates that nearly the entire unit will have to be disassembled in order to fix one of the pieces. This thing weighs 250 lbs. and seems like its not an easy fix. I'm handy enough for a lot of home repairs, but this doesn't feel right. I buy a new grill, it comes damaged. I order new parts, I'm told that Weber will fix it. Now Weber doesn't want to send someone out as promised by Amazon. Seems like a real disconnect between Amazon and Weber. I end up calling Weber back and basically demanding that they take care of this as promised by Amazon, service rep says she will put in a request and we will have to wait and see if we get a tech to fix it. This all just seems so typical. When you are buying something they are so attentive, but when there is a problem, they try to snake out of doing the right thing, we are hopeful that Weber follows through and does the right thing. Love this grill, its amazing. Very disappointed with the repair situation.

Great Grill
This purchase was a 'return to Weber' for us. A few years ago we bought another brand and it was a huge disappointment so now we are back to a Weber grill and couldn't be happier with this grill. The temperature control is excellent, the side 'stove' works great (frying fish outside is a blessing). My husband is happy about the fact that all parts can be replaced giving you lots of opportunity to maintain the grill for years. One note on assembly - we signed up to have someone come to assemble the grill but scheduling never worked out - two no shows. But the good news is that the assembly was quite easy and my husband ended up doing it himself. He does all of his own maintenance on the grill so he was familiar with the parts. Not sure how hard if you don't have experience. But scheduling was a problem if you need help. Bonus with this grill - the box is super sturdy with a thick plastic bottom. We put the plastic bit on top and turned it into a 'house' for a grandchildren and they are having a good time with it. It's so study they even climb on top. So don't recycle your box - haha - find some kids who will turn it into hours of fun.

the plastic knobs are unacceptable
This is an excellent grill, for the most part. However...making a $2K grill with plastic knobs is absolutely shameful. Two of my knobs have broken in two years.

A Big, Robust, Bring It On, Grill, not for the faint of heart or inattentive.
Great appearance, ready to go in minutes, feed a crowd in short order. grease drain off and disposal is best design ever it all but eliminates the possibility of grease fires, heat distribution is uniform across the grill, temperature control is sensitive until you have become accustom to what heat the controls are capable of producing. Once familiar you con do good things like ribs, my family and neighbors favorite. This grill is design and constructed to serves without fail for many years, hence the ten year guarantee. I expect mine a natural gas model to last much longer and pass on to my grandson when I am no more.

Worth every penny! Quality build that you don't find elsewhere.
First of all, I was a bit leery of the price. I'll admit this is a lot to spend on a grill. I read the reviews, I did my research and I must say I couldn't be happier. I've tried a bunch of other "high end" grills with name tags attached I'm sure you'd recognize. Nameplates that match quality products that we all grew up knowing. The construction on those grills was good enough generally to last one or maybe two seasons, but after investing upwards of $600 I expected a lot more. THIS grill is built to last. Comes pretty well assembled with all the important stuff in place. It takes about an hour or so to finish everything else up, and it's very well packaged. I went with the Amazon delivery service (just delivery not setup) because of the issues some other people had with delivery windows. I'm glad I did, even though we ended up paying tax, there were a couple of speed bumps in the delivery and Amazon Concierge handled it all beautifully. In short, I'm in love with this grill, you won't be disappointed.

Don't trust the "newbie" reviews. I've owned this grill since 2007 and I know the high and low points very well
I've owned a stainless Weber Summit 450 grill since 2007. Ths 470 is the newer, updated, prettier model but they are essentially the same grill with cosmetic changes. Below are my pro/con based on a over decade of ownership. Pro -The grates have held up really well - no issues with deterioration over a decade of use -Works very well for the first few years -Natural gas model heats evenly and has high heat capability for blackening fish and meat -The side "smoker" hopper has its own heat control. It takes experience to figure out how to get it smoke and not just incinerate the hardwood chips -I like the upper "warming" rack on my model -The electric rotisserie accessory works really well and has a large capacity -The inner grill top broiler is awesome but requires experience so you don't cremate food Con -The "slop bucket" under the burners is an absolutely miserable design and it has to be changed frequently depending on usage. If you forget about it, the smell from the grease and the liquids collected reminds me of Bourbon Street at 6AM during Mardi Gras - a sort humid, dumpster smell. -You should change the slop bucket when it gets about 1/4 full or the smell alone will ruin your grilling experience. The disposable aluminum pans aren't expensive if you order the generic ones on Amazon - I bought 50 of them for $20. But check them OFTEN and replace them OFTEN. One hint from personal experience - NEVER, EVER drop even a semi-full slop bucket. -Cleaning as the grill ages and gets more and more challenging. I clean the grill box out about every 4-6 weeks and it's 20 minutes with a putty knife, grate brush, degreaser for the outside and making sure I have a new aluminum "slop bucket" on hand. -There is a removable, sliding stainless tray that catches a lot of debris and that definitely requires a putty knife. Cleaning the actual cooking grates after they get a few years use gets really tough - you almost need to bead blast them to get them clean. I soak them overnight in degreaser and use a fine wire cup on an angle grinder and it's a mess but it works and you need an angle grinder. I - tried turning the grill burners on "high" and letting the unit "self clean" which I guess would work but when I did it, the stainless top discolored and it looked like a forest fire and smelled like a crematory. -Using a grill cover is mandatory in areas where it rains/snows because rainwater infiltrates around the top and will fill the slop bucket fast and make a nice stinky slurry -I bought a Weber because I thought parts would be readily available and reasonably priced. For the first few years parts are easy to find but as your model ages, they become harder to find. Price for some parts? Some are ordering on absurd if bought locally - online they are cheaper. Replacement "flavorizer bars" are $100 and rather than packaging them as a full replacement set, you have to buy two sets of 4 for my model. I bought stainless angle iron locally for $50 and cut it into the proper size. -The side burner blows out in any sort of wind because it's not wind protected so if you are in open area with your grill and you have 15+MPH winds, it won't work -The igniters integrated into the knobs can die out pretty quick and are expensive and a pain to replace. I quit replacing them and keep a small gas wand style grill lighter in the base cabinet. What's weird about the igniters is occasionally they decide to work again after long periods of not working. -I have the stainless steel top model and the top requires degreaser and Scotchbrite about 4-5 times a year after a few years of use -The rubber bumpers for the top keep deteriorating and they are hard to find on parts websites. I bought a bag of 12 of them a few years ago and they are almost gone. For nearly $2,000, I expect a better design and if you could not tell, the biggest issue for me with any Weber grill is the ubiquitous Weber slop bucket. I have a Grill Dome ceramic cooker that takes longer to light than the Weber but it cooks a LOT better, there is almost no clean up and all the "slop" gets incinerated and doesn't stink like Weber and it does not require, not an aluminum pan. The Grill Dome was 1/2 the price of the Weber. I added a few pics of the slop bucket for your enjoyment. I changed the slop bucket 4 weeks ago and have used the grill 2-3 times a week since. The pans fill up fast - it's like owning a cat - check that litter box frequently! Hope this helps and maybe it's just time for me to start looking at another brand of gas grill that is better designed. Keep your glove up - Tretiak

Performs like a grill should
Fantastic grill. This is my second Summit grill, and this one works as well as the last one. I have prepared entire meals on this grill including dessert. Standing Rib Roasts, Rotisserie Chicken, Cedar Planked Salmon, Grilled Tuna, and 2 inch thick Rib Steaks all done flawlessly. I don't think I would have tried many of the dishes I have prepared on a lower quality grill. I only hope this one lasts longer than my first Summit grill that unfortunately rusted through ( the stainless steel model) and just became unsafe to use. I was also disappointed with customer service or lack of it when I tried endlessly to contact Weber, just to be waiting on hold and no one picking up. Maybe that was during the Covid years and things are better now.

BBQ works well but came with broken parts.
BBQ work good but 1 bottom caster arrived broken and there are 2 broken knobs for the grill. Tried calling for support, a couple times over 3 days, never got a response.
