HUMAX HDR-1100S 1TB Freesat with Freetime HD TV Recorder - Black (Renewed)

The unit arrived by Royal Mail, well packaged and one day early. The package contained the HUMAX HDR 1100S 1TB recorder and power supply, a YouView Remote control, a HDMI lead and a Let’s Get Started User Guide. The recorder, purchased as Renewed, looked brand new, in excellent condition with no visible marks on the cover and all the warranty seals in place. The YouView remote was not the original HUMAX remote but as I was replacing an old HUMAX 1000S the original HUMAX remote worked fine with the new recorder. The reason for replacing the 1000S was the unit was old and becoming unreliable. The connections to the unit were easy and the set up very straightforward, just follow the on-screen instructions. Once your Post Code is entered the unit searches for all appropriate TV and radio channels available. The connection to the Internet was also straightforward for both Ethernet connection and Wi-Fi. The recording function worked well and was also easy to set up via the on-screen TV Guide. I am very pleased with the unit; the HD picture quality is excellent via the live feed and via a recorded programme. There are a couple of minor niggles. The Standby/ On LED, which is at the centre of the unit but underneath and is very hard to see. Also the top cover, after a day’s operation, becomes quite warm to the touch. I hope this does not affect the long term reliability of the unit. Overall the recorder is a great buy and I would fully recommend this 1100S from Chigwell Satellite.

My wife and have always loved the Humax Freesat and we both had one for each of our TV in the same house mine broke down so I had to go with the “Freesat box PVR it was crap and kept crashing. When I saw this at the good price I jumped at it. Only had it a few weeks, but it’s easy to use and it works. So that’s it.

Next day delivery by Chigwell at no extra cost. Arrived as expected. Condition is as new, very clean with everything you need supplied. Very easy setup and up and running in 10 minutes including installation. You can link your tv remote but I had issues with this so unlinked them. All you need tv remote for is turning tv on/off. Only critism is the remote batteries didn't appear to be new and were flat but I've got lots of rechargeables so not a major issue. Edit 8/4/25 Been using this for several months now and generally very few issues. Tends to lock up occasionally meaning I have to remove power for 30 seconds and restart. This doesn't affect recordings etc and is an inconvenience at best.

Worked OK and received TV picture but remote didn't change the volume . I tried two other Freesat controllers. which I know work on my other Freesat box. Sometimes they worked and sometimes they didnt. Conclusion fault on Freesat box. Tried to return item but which company is Phantom Technology. Google give several. Do they make jamming equipment ? Do they make wearable technology.? Amazon don't help coz they don't clearly give address information. Mr Bezos I'm not happy!!

Bought to replace the one we had which kept freezing. Wasn't sure about getting a refurbished model but the cost of a new one was too much. This one came and didn't look like it had been used, it took no time at all to swap for the old one and set up. It works well, keeping fingers crossed it will last a few years.

A neat, sleek item which was easy to instal and set up and works very well. One MAJOR negative. Who would ever design a set-top box with no read-out panel on the front to show when it is operating. When you switch on the only indication it is running is a tiny dull led placed UNDER the machine. If you make the room dark you can just about see the red light change to blue if you have excellent eyesight. What was wrong with the old Humax with a panel on front lit up to show when on, when recording, what station etc. A BIG step back by Humax.

Pleased with product. Price very happy with.

So far so good. Purchased to replace one from around 2012 that had died.
