Would be perfect if knurled correctly
This is a very robust set. If only they had the knurl in the right places, it could've been awesome. I dropped one star because of this. I had to use pliers to tighten it enough to hold the small 1.6mm tap. I am using an industrial grade tap that has a big enough square on the end, but I still had to use pliers to tighten it enough to hold it without it coming loose while tapping. I can't help but to believe that even with the knurl in the right place, I still would have had to use pliers to tighten it. I am 68 years old, so I doubt I would have had the the strength to do this without pliers. The other 2 I can't say, because I only bought this because of the price. I had only planned on using the smallest one. It is such a shame. This is a really nice set. The looks and feel would tell you, "Man this a a very nice set for $13.00." But then, alas, it isn't as nice as I thought. I am really curious as to "Why" it just doesn't tighten so well? Go figure.

Great tool ...IF u've EVER used one before.
I used it the first day that i received them. They are awesome tools, they work very well, and they are of superior quality. Ive seen a few people right bad reviews on these taps...but i truly believe that its due to the fact that they DONT KNOW how to use them, and they probably never used one before buying these. However, i think if the manufacturer provide instructions on how to use them.....then the novice people and rookies would rate this product 5 stars consistently.

Doesn't hold M2 taps
It's ironic that a tap handle has such poorly chased threads. When I got them they were so full of sharp edges and metal filings that they would barely turn. I had to clean them up and polish out all the snags to find out that the smallest will not hold the m2.5 tap that I bought the set for. Fairly sturdy after a half hour of cleaning up the unfinished machining. Hard to grip, I had to use channel locks to tighten them down enough to be secure on the taps they did fit.

Good buy but get your file out.
Good taps for the money study and seem durable. But you'll need to get your file out to make them good. Mine came with burs where the nut compresses the flutes and they required excessive force to tighten down all the way. 10min with a file they were good to go.

Nice set. The 1/4" (smallest) handle doesn't slide
I ordered this 3 piece set because I needed a very small tap wrench for a 2-56 tap. The 1/4" size (smallest) wrench fit the tap, but had to be tightened with pliers to hold (could not just tighten with my hands) because it was not quite small enough. My only wish is that the handle on the wrench moved back and forth in the hole like the 3/8" and 1/2" handles do. It does not, and is a bit clunky because of this. Since I'm only using the 1/4" wrench on a very small 2-56 tap, I will probably cut the handle down to be shorter so I can turn it easier.

I purchased these as the price was very good. Whilst I did not expect to get top brand-name quality and finish, I think the manufacturer of these handles could still have put a little bit more effort into the feel and finish of these handles. The finish on the steel is very basic and is one that I suspect might tarnish overtime if not protected by a decent tool oil from time to time. This set just appears to be crudely made. The set of handles does indeed accommodate taps from M3 all the way up to M12 although the chucks need some effort to nip up the jaws tightly. Taps with a smaller shank i.e < M2.5 might be a struggle to get tight in the smallest handle. I couldn't test this as my smallest tap is M3. Small taps with an oversized shank should be ok. While this set will probably work fine, if you are looking for a tap handle set with a better finish and better grade tool steel I think there might be better ones out there, albeit for a few $$ more.

Works as intended

Quite well made by modern (Chinese) toolmaking standards but only time will tell if the jaws have been properly hardened for long life. Amazingly cheap. Well worth a shot.
