I need to plane the top edge of a door that is getting stuck. Don’t want to remove it from the hinges first. Will this be able to handle that task?

I realize this was asked years ago but for those of you that are just now finding this question, don't sand or plane a door to fix it sticking. There's a pretty easy way to bend the hinges into correct position, just takes a little experimenting. There are videos on YouTube.

How do you adjust and slow the blade? Like the metallic pin that is seen in many Japanese brushes. I dont see a piece for this in the picture.

All of the adjustments are made by loosening the wood wedge, make the blade movement and using a small mallet to tap the wee tight

What is the size of this plane? It is listed as 40 mm which is 1.57". Is this correct?

Measuring mine: The Blade is 42.5mm at the top (the thick part), 40mm where the chamfer begins, and 33mm at the edge. The plane body is 52mm x 17mm x 150mm.

How can i sharpen the blade?

If you are not doing a precise job, the new blade has already been good enough. For the beginner of using Japanese's plane, the most challenging task would be taking the blade out. The instruction on the product is correct but you must experience this task by yourself. If you want to sharpen the blade by yourself, you can google "how to sharpen a Japanese planer". There are many examples online.
