Works great.
I love this little guy. Ive been using the Aeropress for a year now with the included paper filters and always wanted to see if i was missing anything by not using a reusable filter. So I bought this filter and I'm glad I did. I wouldn't say that the coffee is better when I use this filter vs the paper. I would say its just a different style.... like it has little more depth to the taste. I like the 'fine' filter cause it really does keep almost all the grinds out. When I use this filter and i'm at the last sip of my coffee I can see a thin circle of silt at the bottom of my cup about the size of a nickel. I like to swirl my cup to mix the silt with the rest of the coffee and then savor the last sip.mmmm then I cant wait till tomorrow to have another cup! Also just so you know, this filter is really thin. It fits great on the Aeropress and creates a good seal. Because it's so thin it is kinda on the fragile side. I can see someone bending this filter if they are not mindful of it. It feels well engineered and would not consider this a design flaw but rather a character trait of this filter.

For Aeropress THIS is the filter to get, hands down.
Been using it steadily since I got it, the fine mesh performs fantastic and unlike the paper filters, lets the oils in the coffee pass through for your enjoyment. It cleans easily and after the first couple of times you'll adapt to both removing it and fitting it in the filter house to use. Unlike the paper filters which would "fight" letting liquid pass through with the finer grinds, the Able's handled everything I've thrown at it even up to Turkish fineness, letting the brew pass through with a steady, ordinary downward pressure. Very durable despite being such a thin and porous metal, but I'd suggest a little care in handling it just to remain on the safe side. Besides the better taste of the coffee, it eliminates you ever having to worry about running low on the paper filters as well as their expense. Cleanup is as simple as rinse and run a dishcloth/sponge over each side and you're done, not quite as convenient as discarding it with the grind puck but I'll take that trade off for what I've gained without hesitation.

Better than paper filter.
This stainless steel filter has been a great upgrade for my AeroPress. It produces a fuller cup of coffee compared to paper filters, with more oils and richness coming through. The flavor feels bolder and more complete, and I like not having to keep buying disposable filters. It’s sturdy, easy to clean, and fits the AeroPress perfectly. A quick rinse after use is usually all it takes, and it’s ready to go again. It also makes the whole setup more travel-friendly since I don’t have to pack paper filters along with it. Durable, reusable, and better-tasting coffee—definitely worth it over paper.

Great for finely ground coffee
I've been trying to get as close as possible to an 'espresso' like shot and this fine permanent disk has worked great for this purpose. I am grinding just a tad courser than espresso level and the result with espresso roast has been amazing, more body and really strong. I am primarily using it to make 'shots' for Cappuccino's so I don't mind a bit more acidity. Pros - Reusable, very fine holes so little to no sediment, easy to clean, let's the oils through. Cons - A bit fragile, but with care I can see this filter lasting a very long time. I am happy to have chosen this permanent filter over the others that are out there. Able kept it simple, it's made in the US and it delivers as promise, what more could you ask for!

Get the oils, but you may not even notice. Paper is "neater".
The paper filters are so cheap and clean and work so well that it is hard to justify a permanent filter.on price. I wanted the oils, so I sprung for this one. It works well and is fine enough that my espresso grind stays out of the cup. I probably can't tell the difference in taste, but I'll keep using it now that I have it, until my wife gets tired of the extra mess I make. The paper filters are "neater" to use. It fits perfectly, but be careful with it. It feels fragile, but I've had no issues for a month so far.

This is a really nice filter. I bought it to replace an S filter that I thought I'd lost. Of course, I found it after this one arrived. The good news is that they both work really well, and I cannot taste a difference in my coffee using either one. Both will let more oils into your cup than the paper filters will, which is a flavor I prefer. However, it looks like I'm getting a bit more crema with the Able Brewing Disk. The S filter has larger pores because you can see through it easier. And I've noticed that I have to rinse the Able Brewing Disk under forceful water to be sure to get all the small particles out of its pores. The disk is a better fit than the S filter. But both seem fragile enough that I will have to be very careful not to damage them. The Able Brewing Disk is a very good alternative to the paper filters.

Nice addition for Aeropress
I am not as much of a coffee connoisseur as James Hoffman. I cannot tell the difference between this and the paper filters the Aeropress comes with as he correctly can. For my purposes, this means no running out of paper filters. Me likes. Now, what do I do with my unused stash of paper filters??

Use it on my aeropress with paper filter too. Makes great cups. No grounds observed.

This was added to a gift of an aeropress for my aunt who loves coffee. This disk worked great to hold back most particulate, and was very similar in brew quality to the included paper filters, if not better. Some replacement metal filters for the aeropress can make it a real workout just to get a cup of joe, but not this one. She said that it was no harder to depress the plunger than with the paper filters, which is great because she has mild arthritis in her hands. She goes on hiking trips and wanted a reliable, reusable filter that could help her eliminate waste, and this was perfect!

The first question that should come up with a product of this nature is: “Does it make good coffee?” The answer in this case is an unequivocal “Yes!”. There is none of the fiddling required to perfectly position the paper filters, it will hold vacuum for a steep of several minutes and no appreciable amount of sediment gets through. We had a wire mesh filter before this and it was pretty good. This one is better. I would recommend to any aeropress user - ditch your paper filters and get one of these!
