Not a coarse potting mix; may not be suitable for cacti
This is a fine but dense potting mix. Not sure what the main components are, but it seems to be sandy. It is not coarse and tends to hold a LOT of water, as some other reviews have mentioned. This is probably okay for succulents like jade and Aloe vera, assuming they are placed in a bright spot and you adjust the watering accordingly. However, I would not use it for cacti that need a free-draining mix. You will probably need to add perlite (which is barely added) and maybe some other components like cinder to improve drainage for cacti. But I feel you shouldn't have to purchase those again separately for a mix that is marketed and sold as a "cacti and succulent potting mix". I can still use this as an amendment for my aroids and other plants like rubber plants, etc. But if I want a cactus/succulent potting mix, then I won't buy this again as this is not a coarse potting mix. Previously, I have tried Mother's feed succulent mix, which is cinder-based and is very coarse. However, it was not available; so, I bought this brand, which was a disappointment.

Drains properly. So works great when that is priority.
Works everytime. Don't expect a blast of growth just from a soil. It does the most. Important thing. Drains properly.

Sandy mix
This is more of a succulent mix than for cactus. You need to add more grita to make it fast draining

Your succulents will start dying. Not good quality soil. Holds too much water.
1. It is not ready to use as is out of the bag if you have snake plants. This soil barely has any perlite, it is just for the label, there isn't enough perlite mixed in it and it is nowhere premium quality (for succulents). My snake plants which are known to be very hardy and resilient started dying in this soil. Green leaves started turning yellow and brown. Rest of the green leaves started curling like a straw or drooping due to too much water. I checked for root rot prior to planting in this soil. 2. It retains a lot of water which leads to root rot for cactus/succulent plants. If you use it as is, you certainly will ruin your succulents. Do yourself a favor and check the reviews with photos, they are telling the truth. This soil is not good for your succulents, you will have to buy perlite, coco husk chips or pine bark/orchid bark to barely make it work. I planted a few snakes in regular local soil (with no perlite) as a control group to see which one does better. Surprisingly, the regular soil group was doing much better than the plants in TrueBasket Mix. Its just better to just use your regular garden soil and add perlite, husk chips, orchid bark on top and save your money. Your snake plants will love it, your wallet will love it, you will love it.
