High Quality Camera and Easy Setup
We hooked this up to my TV via the HDMI port, and were immediately blown away by the clarity and microscopic detail ability of the camera on this microscope. The pictures I attached don't really do it justice because seeing these images in real time on a 48 inch TV was spectacular. We were surprised at the variety of depths we could zoom by simply sliding the camera closer to the item and using the zoom/focus. The closer we got, the more detailed and impressive the zoom feature was.The camera easily adjusts for light differences, and very little light is needed in order for the camera to pickup a picture, but the LED included in the microscope is very bright if needed. I took several pictures of the microscope with my phone camera, and I had to turn the LED light all the way off because it was so bright that you couldn't see the item on the plate below the microscope. The brightness of the LED washed out the details on my phone camera. The camera also does automatic white balance adjustment so that the clarity and color accuracy are very good. I will attach pictures. The camera easily adjusts to multiple depths and light levels. It is difficult to snap a picture without wiggling the microscope a little bit because you have to push a button on the side of the microscope if its not hooked up to a computer, but the camera adjusts for that phenomena as well and will adjust the picture to have clear focus instead of movement blur and jitter.PROS: Easily hooks up to any TV or monitor with an HDMI Port at 1080p resolution. Awesome high quality optics and adjustability. Great brightness adaptation by the camera and bright LED with adjustment knob. Easy to adjust focus and magnification levels. Powered via USB port via your computer, a portable USB power source, or the provided 120V adapter via your wall outlet. Camera can take pictures and save on micro SD card. Powerful software included for more functionality including size measurements and time lapse photography. NTSC and PAL standards for the camera.CONS: It ships with very short USB and HDMI cables. They are probably 12 inches in length. I had to use a USB extension cord to be able to reach my power supply in my wall while having it connected to the TV. If you use it on a desk near a laptop, the length of the cables are appropriate, but hooking it up to a TV will probably require some extension cables. I also noted that the HDMI cable has a normal female port that connects to your TV/Monitor, but the male end that connects to the camera is smaller than the standard HDMI connector.NOTED OBSERVATIONS: I was surprised to learn that the sound of the camera is transmitted to my TV via the HDMI port, which opens up the possibility of being able to use a sound mixer to mix in audio while recording in real time.

Not impressed
This microscope is ok until you need to really zoom in on something and then forget it. The picture at it's best is still pretty blurry and it doesn't want to stay focused very long. You barely touch it to adjust focus or snap a picture and you have to start all over because it gets really out of focus.

More than what's advertised.
Blown away by this thing overall. Let's get the bad part out of the way right now - that stand it comes with - is pretty much garbage. It flexes like crazy, has a tiny amount of travel before you have to release a set screw and slide it up in order to get back into focus. However, I had anticipated this, and plan on mounting it to a "real" microscope base. Now onto the good stuff. Picture quality is better than I was expecting, having HDMI output is great - no PC required to use this. Very smooth video frame rates, even in low light. The working distance at the lowest magnification setting is insane, well over 14" above the part. (perfect for surface mount soldering) The LEDs, while tiny thru-hole type, are amazingly bright for what they are, and well diffused. At the lowest magnification, hooked up to a 22" LCD, it was still a massive image, with a decent field of view. At higher magnifications, your working distance decreases, until you're literally right on top of what you're viewing. I tested it with a 32GB micro SD - and it works as advertised, takes pictures and what not. What I didn't expect and got anyhow: Time lapse photography, manually adjustable exposure, auto-power off option, built in-slide show, USB power input - which when plugged into your PC, turns this into a USB camera. (note, it automatically shuts off the HDMI output when it detects a PC connected - which caused a blank screen and some head scratching at first until I powered it with the included AC adapter.Overall, for the price, this thing has far exceeded what I expected.

Seems to have lost functionality on Window 10 systems
For the price point this seem a very useful digital microscope. The grand kids loved seeing what things look like at that level and we had a lot of fun with it. Well to be honest who doesn't love this stuff? When attached to my computer I was using it for some of its other features and that too worked. That was until one of the Window 10 upgrades (I'm on the fast ring for the spring update). Now it doesn't see the microscope anymore, the software says plug in to USB and it is but program doesn't see it. Updated the program but that didn't matter. You can see the microscope as a drive and read files off it so the USB seems to work.So for now I can attach to a monitor take the pictures and then get them off via the USB but all the software functions of the program are lost.I tried this on two computers with the same results. So while I still like it I have to say the issues are now not looking good for some of the intended uses and thus the overall rating has to be just 2 stars. If it were full functional I would have given it 4 stars.Has anyone else seen this issue and most important solved it?

Good Value/Functionality for the money
1. "Real time" HDMI signal is a little noisy, but pictures are clear, good color, ...2. Ability to "snap a picture" of HDMI image (to SD card) a real plus (don't have to use external computer).

Missing Camera on first order - UPDATED
Just opened the box after recieving it today and the camera itself was not in the box.***Update***Ordered a replacement and it came with all pieces parts. Hooked it up top the TV and it works spectacularly. SD card in camera allows for saving imagery if your not connected to a computer. Stand was stable and not a problem. All the cables operated as they should.
