Literally a lifesaver for my English Bulldog!
I came across this brand when researching ways and options to cook my dogs food and I can’t say enough how AMAZING this product is! We have 3 fur babies but our English bulldog has a million and one sensitivities and allergies and no matter what the vet wrote and suggested he got no relief. His hair was falling out, he had very red and inflamed skin and now after only two and a half weeks of stopping dog food and cooking all of their meals his skin has begun healing and his hair is growing back! We couldn’t be any more grateful for this brand and the huge impact it’s made in our dogs! Don’t hesitate go ahead and purchase this!!! We also love the turkey and whole wheat macaroni recipe as well!!

Vitamins AND recipe!
I used to purchase the frozen food by this company. My dogs, who are incredibly picky, loved it! It’s the only food they would eat consistently, which is really important because they’re diabetic. They have to eat their food so I can give them their insulin. And this food guarantees they will eat! I cook a full batch every other week. Putting in a little bit of effort saves SO much money! And since I’m following the companies own recipe, I know my pups are getting all the nutrients they need. I’m so happy this company sells their nutrition blend and provides the recipe! And more importantly, my pups are happy, too!

My Corgi Loves It
My corgi is not picky, and he’s used to eating “people” food. Since he was a puppy, he’s gotten Kongs stuffed with healthy food & I don’t hesitate to give him healthy leftovers. I KNEW he’d love eating the recipe that came with this product, and he does. We recently purchased this item, so I can’t yet provide feedback on how it is health-wise for my boy. But, I did want to provide some cooking tips. First, I tried the full recipe in a 6 qt slow cooker. BIG mistake! Really need a slow cooker about double that size for the full recipe. (Do they even make one that large?) So, if you’re going to cook in a slow cooker I recommend making half the recipe. I ended up cooking part in the slow cooker & part on top of the stove because of the quantity. Messy & took a long time. Cut the potatoes quite small unless you cook them separately. I cut them in what would be bite-size chunks for my dog, but they didn’t cook well in the slow cooker. Ended up taking the undone potatoes out (kind of painstaking to separate out the hard potatoes) and cooking separately. If you’re making the full recipe, you need one heck of a big pot. Not sure what I’ll do next time - a half recipe won’t last us a full week. I think it’s a misnomer to call this a “kit!” It’s some nutritional powder & instructions for using it. I think of a kit as the parts needed to make something. This isn’t a kit, and it’s an exaggeration to call it that.

Great fresh food supplement
This is a wonderful product that I have been faithfully using gor my dog for a few years. I have always wanted to feed her fresh dog food but I also wanted her to be getting the nutritional support that she needs. The Just Food For Dogs powder has everything she needs. I make the recipe which is provided and I am able to give her fresh nutritional food.

Made my dog throw up
This did not agree with my dog at all…made her constantly have to go to the bathroom and she threw up multiple times.

More work, but worth it. She loves it!!!
It took about 2 months to transition my 12 year old Lab to JFFD, but the effort is well worth the results. She had been on a number of premium kibbles over the years but in the last year her once beautiful coat has changed for the worse and she started to get dry flaky skin. Since she’s transitioned to JFFD her coat has improved immensely and the skin condition has cleared up. I’ve tried the Chicken & Rice as well as the Fish & Sweet Potato. The chicken and rice didn’t go well. My problem with the chicken was getting chicken livers and gizzards that were fresh enough. I’d try it again but just have to make sure the livers are fresh. She’s now on a rotation of the Beef and Fish recipes. It took some practice to get things tuned in and a good system going. I invested in a LEM MAXvac 500 because my old Foodsaver is to slow, a 20 quart, and two 12 quart stock pots, a 30 quart mixing bowl, and a big 15 quart strainer. I do all my cooking outside on a Camp Chef 3 burner stove. You don’t need all these things to do the job but having the right tools for the right job reduces stress and makes it much easier. FYI: I decided to boil the ground beef instead of sautéing it. Sautéing it left to much grease that was definitely not agreeable with her even when using 90/10 beef.
