I am not a big sweets eater, but these are not too sweet and have an excellent coffee flavor. The hint of caramel just enhances the taste even more. The best part is they are a hard candy that does not soften or stick to your teeth. Definitely worth the price.

Nostalgy From My Youth😋
Since I was born in the Hague (where hopjes are manufactured) and the company stopped making these little sweets I just had to buy this tin filled with the REAL Haagsche Hopjes. It is a little pricey, but it is well worth the $$$👍

Flashback to childhood
I had an old family friend that would sit in his rocking chair and eat these candies. For close to 40 years I questioned my memories and if I would ever experience that “coffee candy” he would give my brother and I as children. I had all but given up, until now I have rediscovered that taste and black and gold branding I remembered. These coffee candies are the best thing I have had in recent times.

Happy to say the negative reviews don't apply to my purchase
I purchased one of these (in the tin) from another company years ago. Wanting another I was thrilled to find it on Amazon. Well, after reading a few reviews about damaged tin and sticky candy, none of that applied to my purchased. Amazon shipped it in an envelope which worried me. Upon opening it, it was tightly wrapped in bubble wrap. The tin had a security sticker on the lid and tin was perfect. Upon unwrapping my first candy, it was perfect and not sticky. Normal in every way. And...did I mention yummy? Yup, which is why I purchased a replacement. Two thumbs up!
