Very informative and detailed book on Sarabhai's collection of Pichhwais.
The book details the extensive collection of the Sarabhai foundation with great diligence and amazing attention to detail. It is wonderfully written - even though the language is a bit stiff and formal - and gives plenty of additional information to give historical, artistic and spiritual context to the paintings. This holistic approach is much appreciated as it give a 'big picture' view to the artistic tradition of paintings in Vallabh Sampraday / Pusthi Marg sect.However, I am a little disappointed in the quality of the pictures reprinted here. They don't seem to be of the same high definition and finish as Amit Ambalal's 'Krishna as ShriNathji'. (hence 4 stars for this book rather than 5)
