Miele Descaling Powder for Washing Machines and Dishwashers

Great for cleaning both washer and dishwasher

We have been using these for years, to keep the inside of our washing machine from developing the unpleasant smell that develops on damp things. It has probably also prevented scale build-up on the internals. The machine is still running, after two decades.

Had various issues with ten year old Miele dishwasher. Glasses not getting cleaned. Dishes with food-spots remaining. This stuff does work, but we needed an additional Miele product for a full fix. (The dishwasher pods) I do wonder if the pods were all we needed. Maybe because washer is getting 'older' it needs the better pods. Whatever the case, it worked extremely well.

I have a Miele dishwasher that has a built in water-softening system and utilizes a salt reservoir to reactivate the water softener. I operated it for years and years without any salt thinking that my water was soft already and didn't need softening. Eventually (like after 7 years) I had an issue with the dishwasher building up deposits on the interior and the dishes didn't seem as clean as they once were. I ran this descaler through the dishwasher, added some miele salt to the reservoir, adjusted the dishwasher to the actual water hardness in my area (see your manual) and it's like night and day. The interior of the dishwasher sparkles like brand new. I couldn't be more happy with this product.

It does take some of the deposits out as far as I can see but because you cannot see what is inside the washer it is really hard to tell just how much scale it has removed. Turned the water dark with the application so I presume it did a job. How much a job........I can't say for sure. Inside of machine does look cleaner though.

I have a Miele and like to stick to their products. This one helps maintain the machine. Our local water is not the best quality, and I think this helps.

If you own a Miele Dishwasher or washer, you must descale it, and it is recommended that you do so every 6 months. A word of caution here regarding the instructions. The item I received from Amazon had instructions in multiple languages, but none in English! I had to contact my Miele Experience Center, which carries the product (at a higher price), to get instructions. Basically, you empty the contents of the container in the WASHING MACHINE DRUM and run a cycle on HOT water, as if you are doing a laundry. And for the DISHWASHER, while the instructions in the Miele manual are somewhat complex, I was advised to empty the container into the dishwasher, and just run a cycle (without dishes). Most importantly, you use THE ENTIRE CONTAINER, not a portion of it.

useless and expensive product... If you want to descale your dishwasher than do it with vinegar!
