Reliable Pocket Knife with Classic Design
The Schrade Imperial IMP13L is an excellent pocket knife! The stainless steel blades are sharp, durable, and open smoothly. It has a nice weight to it and feels solid in the hand without being bulky. The classic two-blade design makes it versatile for everyday use, and the quality is impressive for the price. A great knife to carry daily or add to a collection.

WHOA..THIS KNIFE IS.....
I got this knife not because I need another knife per say but because it's a neat super quality designed knife made in China. Not all Chinese knifes are poor quality some rank with the best out there. I wasn't expecting such a top-notch design. This knife rivals much higher priced pocketknives. The blades are easy to open are centered correctly, the scales are actually beautiful and have a mother of pearl look even though there not and have brass pins. I mean these really look high quality and have no gaps against the bolsters!!! Bolsters are secure and mirror polished. The blades are super sharp have no wobble and lock solid. They have a satisfying crips snap to them. the blade springs are solid, no play at all. You couldn't ask for more except an "EXTREMELY" low price which it has!! I haven't found anything to carp about this knife. Man, like it's gorgeous.

Good knife for the money
Pretty good knife for the money, but I have a few gripes. First, these are a little small for a true trapper pattern knife. I also happen to have a Case full-sized trapper, and this Imperial "large" trapper, is still smaller... The regular sized trapper knives from Imperial would be considered a "mini-trapper" from Case knives... So I think Imperial's sizing is a little off here.... Second, Imperial only produces the "large" trapper in this rather feminine "cracked ice" pattern scales, whereas if you get the "regular" trapper (mini-trapper for Case knives) they come in a variety of color options... This is also the same for Imperial's Canoe pattern slipjoint folder as well.. Not sure why they only offer the "large" models in "cracked ice" scales, but yeah.... That's all you get if you want the large... The steel is just okay... You really get what you pay for here... Don't expect these knives to hold a super sharp edge, or even hold it for very long for that matter. These are what I would call beater knives for when you just need to hack through things for utility purposes and don't want to get your nice knives dirty or gunked up... Fit and finish is okay. I have a few different models of imperial knives and they all have minor flaws like the the scales not being completely flush with the bolsters... And the folding action is not very smooth at all, but still works just fine... So these are just concessions that you will have to make for a knife of this price. Overall, these are great knives for the money. If you are looking for a knife with perfect fit and finish, and blade steel that takes a razor blade edge and holds it, then this is not going to be the knife for you. It's a good knife as long as you don't set your expectations too high.

Fantastic value, beautiful knife
Upon arrival, the clip blade touched the liner and the tip was pretty rounded off. I was able to put pressure on the blade and get it lined up, and took a fine file and strop to sharpen up the tip. The opening and closing was pretty rough in the beginning. I oiled and sharpened both blades, opened and closed it about 100 times, this helped a bunch. The fit and finish of the knife other than the two things I fixed, is great The scales are really nice with no gaps. Might be the cheapest AND best looking knife in my growing collection. This is the second Imperial I've bought recently. The IMP22Y sodbuster I got last month was flawless and only needed sharpening. My taste in folders has mostly been flipper, ball bearings and top shelf blade steel recently. It is nice to find such cool, simple knives for so little. The minor adjustments I made to this knife really made it a 5 star knife. The blade steel took a wicked edge and has held up well to carving wood. This knife's description is different from place to place but for the record....It has Stainless Steel liners not brass like the sodbuster, and the scales are pinned with Brass pins. Knife snobs and beginners alike should love it. This knife is an out-of-the-park home run.

This is a good knife, not a bad copy.
My second Shrade Imperial and I have three Case folders.I can not find anything wrong with this knife, although it is dirt cheap.I like it a lot.Fit and finish is not bad at all, very nice opening action with good kick at the end and guess what- no blade play. All my other classic folders do have a little blade play and this one doesn't.Good size too-full four finger grip and good, workable size blade.A medium, practical size knife over all.I thinned out they cutting edge ,as I always do with any knife, and this Schrade cut and sliced with great ease and was pleasure to use.The blade profile is just perfect-exactly like Case and maybe better than Buck in this category- very good precision in wood working and food prep. The steel doesn't rust and is very adequate for light and medium duty tasks.Overall the knife is eficient and well build, while the price is a joke.I would buy more but alredy have the most popular models from Buck and Case.

Very happy. High quality for a low price.
This is a knife I would think would be $35 or $40. It was only $10. High quality and a little bigger than I thought. Nice and tight with a good snap when extending and retracting the blades. Love the look of handle.
