Quiet, reliable workhorse
We've owned this shredder for nearly 2 years now, so I think it's fair to rate its long-term performance. The short summary: I'd totally buy this shredder again. It is by far the quietest paper shredder I've ever owned, but that's really just icing on the cake. The speed is decent, the resulting shreds are small (admittedly this is my first micro-cut shredder), and the capacity of the bin is big enough I'm not emptying it all the time. I don't remember what the rated duty cycle is, but when we get into a document purging frenzy, I never worry about whether I need to take a break before I reach the end of the stack of papers I want to shred.BTW, I think overengineering the duty cycle is the most important thing to do when looking for a shredder. Sure, if it sits in your home office, you might on average shred a sheet of paper a day, but that's not the way you'll use it. It'll do nothing for days or even weeks, and then you'll weed your document collection and have a stack several inches high you want to get rid of. Buy something you can run nearly continuously until the bin fills without burning out and then you don't have to worry about it.Another thing I really like is the support for using a bag in the bin. It's much easier to just hoist out the bag and dispose of it than trying to pour a bin of shredded paper into another bag for disposal. The "full" indicator is pretty accurate; I usually shake it down once and call it good the next time it lights. My wife is more aggressive and will pack down the bag a few times before changing it. The "correct" sized bags always feel like they are generic and slightly oversized for this shredder, but usually it's possible for me to squeeze the air out of the (full) bag and tie a knot in it, which is handy. (If my wife has been shredding and packed it down an extra time, that's a lot more problematic.)There's a convenient spot to store the box of extra bags in the bottom of the bin. I probably wouldn't miss it if it weren't there, but it's nice that I'm not storing extra bags on the shelf somewhere and I always have one to hand when it's time to change bags. There's also a vertical translucent panel on the bin which I think is supposed to let you see how full the bin is, but in my experience it's worthless -- a large part of that may be due to the fact we have the shredder turned "sideways" to fit where we keep it and consequently we can't look at it square on. Since I don't really care (and I have the idiot light on top when it reaches full) I don't view this as a failing. This has been a great shredder, and an even better shredder for the price. We've never regretted buying it, and I don't think you will either.

Wish We'd Had It Years Earlier
What is there to say about a product that functions flawlessly? Have had and used this shredder for about 4 years and never had the slightest problem with it.

Solid machine
I decided to spend the extra money to get a shredder that will hopefully last longer than a few years and one that can actually shred more than a few sheets of paper at a time without too much trouble. This shredder does achieve the second goal without any issues. It can shred 10+ sheets of paper without struggling or jamming. Only time will tell if it meets my first goal of being durable and long-lasting. I am cautiously optimistic as it appears to be well made. Additionally, I like the oversized bin which does not require frequent emptying like the cheaper products I have used. With that in mind, be aware that the machine is 2 feet high.

Shreds 16 sheets at a time.
I bought this since I had so much documents to shred. This shredder has very little noise. The only drawback I found with this is I hit the reverse button sometimes when loading in the paper. The shredder will full the 8 gallon bin in about 20 minutes and then will have to cooldown for 40 minutes.

So Far So Good
I just shredded 10 years of tax returns and this thing worked stellar. It got warm but I am hoping that with the thermostat on it it will help on the lifespan. I have never had a shredder ever last more than a couple of years but this one is of to a great start

Durable and long-lasting for the price
Very quiet when shredding and handles a high volume of documents well. The bags hold 20lb of paper and the shredder is easy to use and simple to replace bags. It has a nook at the bottom to hold the box of bags so there's no need for extra storage.Has lasted several years with plenty of use and is still going strong and quiet as the day it was first used.

Great price and super quiet
My wife bought one like this from Staples when it was on sale. I loved it and could not believe how quiet it was compared to anything like it that I have ever used. I researched it further and found out the run time before getting warm and shutting down was also better than other models. It also cools down and resets in a shorter time.I wanted one but the sale price at Staples had expired and they wanted to sell me one for over $200. While I waited for it to go on sale I found the same one here at Amazon for $20 less than the Staples sale price.I have shredded almost 100 pounds of paper so far and it is still going strong. I lubricate it after emptying each bin full with a little canola oil squirted on a paper and running it through. Never use a petroleum based oil like W-40 as it could cause spontaneous combustion.

Quiet and Powerful
Over the years I've had a number of shredders that claim various things but I found that they do not live up to expectations. This one does! Very quiet but you can hear the power as it makes short work of anything. Glad I found it. Worth the money.
