I purchase roughly 300 items a year on Amazon and I can state without hesitation, this is the most convenient, satisfying, perfect solution to an everyday small challenge that I have ever bought. I’ve gotten sexier and more exciting items, but finding a device that allows me to open tightly stuck jar covers has been high on my list for years, especially as I’ve gotten older and for the first time I’m dealing with slight issues of flexibility in my fingers. This item is so simple and so logical, it's hard to believe it was not invented years earlier. It could not be easier to install, it could not be easier to slide a jar into place and it could not be easier to grasp the jar and simply twist it. It worked 100% of the time. I’m sorry to see that this is suddenly not available anymore and hope it is only a temporary shortage. It may sound funny heaping praise on a can opener, I admit this is not the hottest birthday present someone could think of, but the truth is, I’ve bought electronics, computer devices, all sorts of items on Amazon that were plenty of fun to use, but none has satisfied me so completely as this little device that solves an age-old problem as simply as this one does. I love it and I’m grateful for the guy, whose name I do not recall offhand, who invented this and offered it for sale at such a reasonable price here on Amazon.

When my parents had their home built, my dad had a product like this installed under the cupboard (not sure who manufactured the product). They have lived there for almost 13 years, but I only learned about this magical jar opener in the last year. I went on Amazon and found several choices. I liked the color of this and that it was from a small business. It looked easy enough to install so I bought it. I am THRILLED with this. It was easy to install (*tip I used a power drill for the 3 screws). I installed it in a front corner under my cupboard and you cannot see it when you are looking at the cupboard. With my cupboards I was somewhat worried that the two longer screws would go through the bottom and would be seen and in the way of where I keep my dishes. Nope--they are not as long as I thought they were. Once installed it is very tight to the bottom of the cupboard AND it is so easy to open jars now. What used to take me about 5 minutes (pounding on the counter, hitting it at an angel with a knife, and finally hot water for minutes) now takes me about 10 seconds or less. No effort on my part. I highly recommend.

This opener is the BEST. Doesn’t take much effort to get even the toughest cap off. It is installed under my kitchen cabinet. Simple, convenient and easy for even a child to use. Highly recommend.

Works good pain in the butt to install after sitting on my counter for months

My mother is a senior with arthritis, and was struggling to open jars. Some jars are really tight, and will even put a strain on me. This Grip Jar Opener helped a lot! The only problem is that Mom is short, and it is sometimes too hard for her to reach up and back under the cabinet, and hold up a big heavy jar. This jar opener helps her to be independent, but I still like to be called to help her with the big heavy jars. I like it because it is a lot easier for me to open jars too!

I had one of these mounted (out of sight) under our cabinet for years. Loved it and used it often. In a recent kitchen renovation, I forgot to remove it and out it went along with our old cabinets. I was so happy they still make it because it's honestly one of the most useful tools in my kitchen. I'm not old, nor do I have arthritis but why struggle even a little with opening jars when this makes it (almost) effortless. This opener works on almost every size jar or lid you throw at it . . . from metal olive jar lids to thick plastic caps on energy drinks. I don't even try to open jars myself anymore - - - usually I find I'm giving the jar a half-effort try as I head directly toward this opener. There is nothing negative to say about it except that the teeth on it do mar the lid a bit. The teeth bite into the sides of the lid to hold it in place while you turn the jar/bottle, and that usually leaves marks on the sides of the lid/cap. It leaves teeth marks on plastic lids that are on peanut butter or mayonnaise jars, and would scratch tin/metal lids like those on olive or jelly/jam jars. I don't typically save jars or bottles, but every once in a while I'll open a jar that I'd like to reuse later. On these occasions, putting a thin old rag between the teeth and the lid will still allow grip enough to open it initially, yet protect it from scratches so you can reuse it again. Our old upper cabinets had a recessed bottom, so this was tucked up and completely out of sight. Our new cabinets have a flush bottom so if I mounted this under our new upper cabinets, it would be visible. This is not ugly, but it's also not something I wanted visible in my new kitchen so I mounted it under a shelf (with clearance below it) in my pantry instead. Since the jar I'm opening typically comes out of the pantry anyway, this location works just as conveniently. Super handy item that you'll wonder how you managed to live without.

OMG why didn't we buy this years ago ?? Easy to install can't see it unless you know where it's located. Works great from sqda bottle size cap all the way up to very large jars

Ma mère est âgée et a des problèmes d’arthrite au jointures qui lui enlève presque toute sa force aux mains, alors il faillait trouver quelque chose de facile a comprendre et à utiliser. On a essayé une myriade de produits qui ont tous échoué, d'une façon ou d'une autre. Les gros élastiques glissaient, les serre-pots demandait de la force pour serrer, les ouvre-pots à batterie n'ouvre pas un pot qui est trop coincé, trop gros ou trop petit etc. Alors le plus simple est le plus efficace: des dents pointues dans un support blanc caché sous l'armoire. On entre le pot de façon à ce que les dents "morde" sur le couvercle, on tourne le pot dans le sens horaire et clac s'est ouvert merci bonsoir. Un conseil: ça ne sert à rien d'utiliser l'adhésif qui vient avec l'appareil; c'est juste pas assez fort pour le tenir en place. Il faut le visser avec les vis fournis. Pour ceux qui ont justement des problèmes de force dans les mains ou de tenir un tournevis, il faudra l'aide de quelqu'un qui peut le faire. Mais une fois que c'est bien vissé sous un comptoir, vous n'aurez plus besoin de quelqu'un d'autre pour ouvrir les pots!
