I've been using this Femmenessence Maca Pause for a year and a half, now taking two, twice a day. Originally, this amount was too much and I was having some side effects like headaches. So I started on lower amounts and slowly worked up to where I am now and I'm doing fine. I was impressed with the research on the Maca Pause and wanted to give it a try to help with the post-menopausal issues. I did NOT want to go the horse urine route!! It seems to have helped to balance out my mood, but this was not an immediate effect. It took time. I had to be patient. I am also estrogen dominant. This product, plus progesterone cream, helped correct that. (The estrogen dominance in me almost always showed up as an intense headache behind my left eye.) Some women say it helped them lose weight. I'm not sure is this product is the reason because I've also been eating carefully and exercising. But I am down to almost my goal weight, although a ton of carbs over a short amount of time puts the weight back on quickly. I would imagine this is true of most women, but I'm not certain about that. The 3 pack is about the best value for the money that you're going to get. If a woman is dealing with postmenopausal issues, this product is worth a try.

I love this stuff! I suffered with mild hot flashes for a long time and once I started taking this just once a day The Hot Flashes pretty much went away completely. Very pleased.

I bought this product to help with energy and to help keep my hormones balanced as I am in post menopause. A nature path recommended this to my sister, and she recommended it to me and I recommended it to my sister-in-law who has had excellent results with this product for her hot flashes. It’s a really high quality product so I feel good about recommending it. Because I am sensitive to most medications and supplements, I do take just half the suggested dosage, which seems to give me a little extra extended energy for the day.

Really works

While I think this is a good quality supplement, and did give me energy, it also made me hungry, so that's not a good tradeoff. Nothing that makes me hungry is anything I'll ever buy again, so this product was a no-go for me. I originally got these for my mom who is post-menopause and because of breast cancer, can't take PremPro anymore. My mom hasn't really noticed anything while taking them, but then again, my mom has taken so many different natural menopause supplements and never noticed anything with any of them. She loved Prempro and was heartbroken when her doctor refused to give it to her anymore because she got breast cancer. According to her, none of the natural stuff has really worked for her. I was hoping this would be different, but it wasn't :( I just tried it because my body weight is so low that I don't get periods so I figured it might be good for me. The doctor tried to give me some nasty chemical hormones which had listed side effects such as weight gain, acne, edema, hair loss, depression, etc., so I threw those nasty things in the trash without even opening the bottle. I'd never even consider a medication that could give me side effects like those. So I thought I'd try something natural - and these did give me a sense of well-being and good, smooth, non-jittery energy without any crash afterwards. But I noticed that I also wanted to eat more after I took them so I quit. For me, nothing is worth being hungry or gaining weight for, no matter what possible positive effects it could have. I'm giving 3 stars because it didn't do anything bad to either one of us, except for the hunger thing, and to me, it felt like it had some really good qualities. It might not increase everyone's appetite, that could've been just me, and the energy and sense of well-being it produced was positive. Hormonal supplements can be different for everyone, so I suggest that people experiment around and see what works for them and what their body responds best to. I have found that in terms of hormonal products my body responds well to Evening Primrose Oil and Alfalfa Powder and I would recommend both of those products for female hormone balancing.

I would say this product works 80%, I had a lot of stomach pain and stopped taking it.

The amount of times to send this as a must for ladies going through menopause, etc I should get a percentage. Great product!

Guess I’m part of the small percentage that this product did not work for. Severe stomach pains (like almost ER visit pain), bloating. NEVER again!!
