Men in Black (1997) / Men in Black II - Vol / Men in Black 3 - Set

I got this set today and was surprised by how light it was. I thought there would be three Blu-Ray cases. But, unfortunately the company that released them decided to have the type of set in which the discs just lay there on the sleeves. They were all fine, but I took them out and put them in Blu-Ray cases so I could be sure they would not be damaged by the package. The case that holds the discs is very solid and seems well built though. The case is in a sleeve and you slide it from the top or bottom to get the case out and then the Blu-Rays are inside. It looks very under cover and cool. The figure seems very well made and will look very cool sitting in whatever place I decide to stick it. Each blu ray is packed with special features. Things like photo galleries, behind the scenes, blooper reel, games and commentary. I always watch all the special features, so this is a great thing for me and those who do so as well. I easily downloaded the digital copy for each. Well, I have had problems with actually getting the movies from Sony. The Sony Media manager is not showing up on my Windows 8 PC. But that has nothing to do with the movies, or the fact that they were easily put into my movies list on Ultraviolet. I just have to figure out how to download them. All and all I think this is a very cool set that any fans of the movie should own. I got it for less than $60 which is a great price. While I gave this set a 5 because of the great movies, the sturdy packing and all the great special features, I would give the way the Blu-Rays are in the case a 1. Just put the discs in the standard cases. They may cost more, but I would rather pay more and have safe discs than pay less and have to worry.

It seems Amazon is combining the reviews for different versions, so to be clear mine is for the 4K version of the trilogy set. Men in Black is the franchise that, along with movies like Independence Day, vaulted Will Smith into the status of summer blockbuster movie star. The original trilogy spanned a period of about 15 years, from the 1997 release of the original movie, the 2002 release of Part II, and the 2012 release of Part III. As most are aware, the premise of all the movies is that aliens are living free among humans on Earth, and a shadowy, secret, organization called Men in Black keep track of all the aliens, keeping them safe, and in line, and making sure humans are blissfully unaware of their existence. It starred, primarily, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as Agents J and K respectively, who in all the movies have to stop some kind of plot that will destroy Earth, or cause some kind of intergalactic war. All of the movies blended a lot of humor, action, and even a bit of drama, and managed to tell unique stories without being carbon copies of each other, which would be very easy to do in a franchise such as this. Smith and Jones, and later Smith and Josh Brolin (who played a young Agent K in Part III) had great chemistry with each other. And, it seemed genuine from the behind-the-scenes material. If their relationships did not work, it would have never become a franchise that moved beyond the original movie. Smith as a brash younger agent played extremely well off of Jone's deadpan curmudgeonly delivery. And in Part III Brolin did a wonderful job playing a version of Agent K that was different from how Jones played him but was able to include elements of what Jones did with the older version. For those who get the 4K set, the movies look and sound wonderful on the upgraded format. Obviously, Part III looks the best, but even the original is a great upgrade over the original DVD release. Each movie has two discs, one UHD disc with just the movie, and one original blu-ray with the movie and extras. Each movie has at least one general behind the scenes feature, and then several specific featurettes such as, for example, scene breakdowns, how they came up with and made the alien creatures, the special effects, etc. There are also gag reels, trailers, and music videos. Then there is a commentary track on each movie. A lot of material for those who like going through the extras. The only negative to the set is that the discs are stacked on top of each other in their case (each movie has its own case within the outer box). It is a minor point, but it would have been better packaged so that each disc sat on either side of the case in its own housing. That said, I definitely recommend picking this set up.

Packaged well, arrived on time, all discs play as they should.

My apologies, thought I only received two of the movies but turns out disc 1 is MIB one and two, disc 2 is the third movie. Great price and should order, no skipping or anything wrong with them. Highly recommend ordering.

This movie is timeless! We watch it at least once a year!

La visione dei primi due film è un appuntamento irrinunciabile per qualsiasi amante del cinema, specie se anche appassionato/a di fantascienza. L'ultimo film della trilogia è godibile ma punta moltissimo sugli effetti (molto ben realizzati peraltro) e sfrutta un filone di idee già ampiamente sviluppate nei primi due film, aggiungendoci comunque qualche nuovo ingrediente. L'umorismo è brillante e (quasi) mai banale, spesso con un taglio geek/nerd. Ottime le interpretazioni degli attori protagonisti — nel primo film, particolarmente memorabile quella dell'"antagonista" Vincent D'Onofrio... e Linda Fiorentino si lascia sempre guardare. I tre blu-ray arrivano in tre custodie separate standard, riunite in una semplice scatola di cartone con un lato aperto. Ricchi e particolarmente interessanti i contenuti speciali, che si soffermano a lungo sui diversi stadi di realizzazione del film (interpretazioni, costumi, scenografia, effetti speciali, effetti visivi, effetti sonori, musica,...). La qualità delle immagini nelle versioni su blu-ray è ottima (visibilmente migliore di quella dei corrispondenti DVD) e fa godere appieno dei dettagli di scenografia, armi, alieni... e tutto. Da avere, specie a questo prezzo.

Great set of films. I think the 4K really shines in the third film, the other two are obviously upscaled, but otherwise surround sound is great. The first one is probably the best, partly as it set the trend and just a classic that everyone's seen, but I think a big part of the success is the foul language, as it makes the story (about aliens) and all the comedy bits just feel a bit more genuine. They tone that down in the later films, though the 3rd film probably has some of the best emotional acting by Will Smith.

Muy buen pack a muy buen precio, incluye la trilogía de Men In Black, son 3 amarays cada uno con su carátula y una funda de cartón. Buena calidad de imagen y sonido. Bastante contenido extra en cada disco.

Las primeras son completamente en inglés sin subtitulos en español, la tercera película si tiene subtitulos en español, deberían hacer mención de eso en las especificaciones
