Weld looks stronger than the original that came with the hitch kit.
Only time will tell if this replacement part will last longer than the original part that came with the whole hitch assembly. The ball on the original ripped almost all the way out of the base plate.

This tongue ball plate should work with most sway bar setups in the trailering world. I purchased this so that my Husky Sway Control and Weight Distribution Hitch with Sway Control could couple up with our new trailer - we left our old ball plate attached to our old trailer. Note that you will have to buy two plates if you use dual control like I do and you'll also have to buy the Self-Tapping Screws (or if you are really good, you could weld it on). Appears to be good quality steel and is powdercoated. You shouldn't be disappointed!
