The only brush that works
Cat: Short, thick coat. Too fat to groom herself properly (is on a diet). Needs help. Constant stinky lower back and dandruff. First tool used: Slicker brush. Pros: Semi-useful for removing dead fur and therefore stink. Cons: Did nothing for dandruff. Irritated cat's skin if used too long. Had to stop every few minutes to manually remove a wad of fur from the pins. Needed another tool to remove weird gunk at the very base of the pins. Next tool: Boar bristle brush. Pros: Not irritating to skin. Semi-useful for dandruff. Cat loved it. Cons: Worse than the slicker at catching/collecting dead fur. Like the slicker, needed to constantly stop to remove fur from the tips of the bristles, and needed another tool to remove anything stuck at the base of the bristles. Equigroomer: Pros: Removes dead fur AND dandruff instantly and in noticable quantities. No irritating skin. Cat ADORES it. No need to stop to clean the brush, because instead of getting stuck on the brush the dead fur collects on the surface of the cat's coat and you just grab it off. Cons: Have not found any yet. Conclusion: This 1 brush does the job I needed 3 tools for previously, AND it does the job better + faster. My fat cat and I are both happy. I'm gonna go try it on one of my smaller cats now. Update: I learned a bit about how this tool works because I wanted to know how it was so effective. Supposedly it has tiny barbs that silky, healthy fur can slip right through--but since dead/shed fur has a rough surface from the spiky, damaged cuticles, that's what the barbs catch and pull on (the metal never touches the cat's skin; it catches on the ends of the damaged fur [when you brush in the direction of fur growth, not against]). I've definitely seen the results on my cat; she hasn't been this soft in years, because when I pet her I finally feel her healthy fur instead of all the damaged stuff. This has also been working on my cats with finer, longer fur.

Best Grooming Tool EVER!
Best product EVER!!! I ordered this easygroomer after watching Girl with Dogs on YouTube ~ I’ve never been so pleased with a single deshedding tool! Like one of the other reviewers, I opened it and thought “…REALLY???”. Well big YES, REALLY!!! I brush and comb my 19+ year old kitty Maizie several times a day because she loves it. THIS equigroomer took it to an entirely different level! Within FIVE MINUTES I had a humongous pile of fur removed from her! She was constantly purring LOUDLY the entire time! Next cat, the predominantly outdoor one, Mr Angel Fluffy, who loves pets and cuddles but not keen on combing, LOVED IT! Both kitties are short haired, by the way…and it left both of their coats feeling AMAZING! I know they HAVE to be feeling so much better, too! (I’m going to test this on another neighbor’s long haired kitty!) I’m soooooo excited about this product that I’m gifting two of my friends one so they can share in the magic of this product as well! The quality is great, easy to sanitize, easy to use, so worth every penny spent!

Works GREAT
Freaking love this thing. Works like magic deshedding both a German Shepard and my Pyrenees mix. It works really well removing loose undercoat without damaging the top coat on both dogs and cats. I’ve used it on both and have never had any signs of pain from the animals I’ve used it on and they all seem to enjoy it! Over all easy to use, small enough to tuck into a pocket, and works great. Couldn’t recommend more

It's just a sawblade in a block of wood
When I buy something I usually look at the worst reviews to see what I should be expecting if it turns out to be trash. I saw a few shorts on youtube using this, and my cat hates typical brushes so I figured i'd buy it and try it out. As those negative reviews tend to point out, this is literally a saw blade embedded in a block of wood. If that makes you feel uncomfortable to use on your pet, you've been warned. If you still want one and have the means to make one yourself, since it is just a saw blade and some wood, do that instead of buying one and save some money. That being said everything else I read basically didn't matter. My cat loves this thing, it's the only brush I've ever used on her that she not only willingly lets me us on her without her attacking me, but the only brush that actually gets rid of her lose hair. She gets mad at me when I stop brushing her and will sit by the brush and stare at me for hours until I get up and start again. Its alot easier to clean up then her old brush, all the hair either sticks to the blade and is pulled right off or clumps up by her tail and I can pull it off in one big wad. Alot of the comments i read were concerned about hurting the animal if they move too much, since its just a saw blade, but my cat wiggles around and moves as i brush her and she hasn't had any issues with it at all, although I actively avoid her soft tummy just incase and only go around her back and sides. Otherwise its an amazing brush, but if you can get one cheaper or make your own I'd recommend that over this 20 dollar one. The cost alone for what it is is the only reason it's not a 5 star.

Simple but effective
I have 2 large dogs. 1 Pitbill and 1 Belgian Malinois. The pitbull has a short coat and is not bad but the Belgian Malinois is insane with the amount of fur he leaves in the house. I can fill up 3 vacumn canisters from just one room. I have tried several different combs and brushes, even the dog vacumn and although they work to a point they don’t stand out. I was skeptical about this brush because it looks so simple but I e never tried a horse brush and I used to have horses. I got the 5 inch because the 8 just seemed too big especially when you have smaller areas to brush. It’s simple wooden handle with a silver plate with little ridges on it. Honestly it looks like a jigsaw blade. I ran this down my dogs back a couple times and fur just came out from nowhere. He has such thick fur but it’s so weird how this brush gets the under fur out and not even the top fur. The brush is so easy to clean and wipe down or run under the tap and dry it. It is versatile enough to get all areas even the delicate sensitive areas. This is so worth the money.

Professonal-Level Brush for Consumer Price
I briefly worked at a vet a long time ago and used these brushes. I loved them, but the name on it had long worn off before I worked there, so I had no idea for YEARS what brand it was. Over the next near decade, I would spend a lot of money on worse quality brushes trying to find one that worked remotely as well. Even my $60 brush removed both the top and undercoat and didn't remove the dry flaky skin. My cat is disabled and can't groom herself, so she doesn't have protective oil to prevent dandruff. But thankfully I saw someone using it in a youtube video that did have the intact logo! My cats, including the able-bodied one that normally hates being brushed, are absolutely in love. The teeth look nothing like any of the other brushes I have and that's a good thing. It only removes the fallen undercoat and leaves them looking shiny and smooth. It's also notably reducing the skin flakes. Use at a 90 degree angle in short, firm bursts.

Amazing for old cat!
Saw this on girl with a dog YouTube channel and it is amazing. Have an 18 yr old short hair cat that has very dry skin and isn’t grooming herself very well. This took out the dry undercoat and she looks much better. She really loves me using it on her and SO much hair came out and her coat looks more shiny and healthy. Great product!

Interesting Grooming Tool
Recently have seen this being used by groomers and was intrigued enough to buy it. I have 2 cats and a Sheltie - and this works well for the cats - but I don't recommend it for a long coated dog, mainly because it cannot reach far enough 'inside' a full coat to remove the volumes of undercoat of a dog like a Sheltie I didn't give it 5 stars for 2 reasons: 1) My Sheltie - see comments above - although it should work on his head and legs during shedding 'season' 2) I like the volume of undercoat this pulls from my cats - but, after using this, the soft undercoat just sits where the comb (it is not a brush) stops - and because the undercoat is 'soft & fairy-like', it can be challenging to gather together - and if there is any static - it can stick to you hands - making it difficult to to ball up & throw away. I haven't figured out the best way to collect it - yet: tried to use the cat brush, hoping it would do the job, but it doesn't quite work. Next time I'll try to follow up with a metal comb - or my mini-vacuum! I do like how this combs/pulls our a lot of undercoat, and the cats don't seem bothered by the tiny saw-like teeth. So: it is probably a '5' for effectiveness in getting out the loose undercoat on a short-haired animal - and I like this enough I will figure out how to easily-efficiently 'catch' & dispose of all the loose hair.

Best purchase for dogs that shed a lot
Honestly this is worth the price just for the time it has saved in dealing with a dog that sheds a lot! I’m amazed by how well it works and wouldn’t waste money on cheaper options if you have a dog with a double coat.

Might look like a saw blade but it works!!
Works really well for my GSD. I've seen this used by a week known dog groomer based out of niagra on her YouTube channel. So I decided to give it a try. As others have said, it does indeed look like a saw blade. However it is fantastic at pulling the loose hair out, particularly from places that are not easy to do with other brushes like legs and tummy. My dog loved it and lay down for a nap while I used it, a good sign as usually he isn't keen on being brushed and tries to get away when he gets bored. But he seemed to take enjoy this brush so I'll definitely be recommending it to anyone who wants a tool that's gentle but effective! I bought the smallest one and it's great.
