If you want an inexpensive, great minimalist wallet and do not require it to be metal - Get this one now
I am writing a review because I find them helpful when I am looking to buy. Also, the reviews on this are mixed, so I wanted to perhaps help anyone making a decision. First, the seller is excellent. The product was shipped and received on schedule. It came in a fairly nice box. The product was exactly as represented. Do not hesitate to order from this seller. Minimalist wallets are very "in" now. Chances are the reader does not know much about them (as I did not) and is faced with enumerable choices on the market. I looked at a lot. I did not know whether it would work for me, so the price point was important. This wallet is obviously exceptionally well priced. If you have read the other reviews, my comments may be helpful. Yes, it's "plastic" (polycarbonate). However, it is a very nice and hardy plastic. It looks sleek and more expensive than it is. If you want a metal one, this is not for you. I did not care. No, it will not handle one card very well. It needs maybe 2-3 (or more if you have them) to work properly. Some have criticized the wallet for this. But if you are only interested in carrying one card, why would you need any wallet? Virtually everyone has more than one card. So far (I have had the wallet about a month) the elastic has not stretched out and it works well to keep money. The "bump" makes it easy to store and remove money. You will have to fold it three times to properly carry it. I carry very little cash. If you are someone who carries a lot of cash, neither this nor any minimalist wallet is for you, in my opinion. Yes, it is easy to remove and replace cards. You will notice that the wallet is ridged. If you push up slightly to expose the top of the cards, and lightly pinch the bottom, the cars fan out and are easy to remove and replace. Unless you have an awful lot of cards, I know where each one is placed so it is not a hassle to find the right one. No, I have not noticed scratching being any kind of problem. This is not a criticism because I knew what I was getting, but obviously most of us have our license in a clear holder to show when required for ID. You can't do that with this wallet, obviously. It has to go inside. I have not found that to be a problem at all. I Love the wallet. At less than $15.00 dollars, it does not seem to make sense for you to labor over it. If you don't like it, so what. But you will if you have the same observations I expressed here.

Better than my last wallet which was a rubber band.
Update: I've had this wallet for a year and a half since the original review (below) and I've since updated from 3 stars to 5 stars. It's been the most solid wallet I've ever owned (even with 10 cards). It's insanely low profile which has been great. Getting cards in and out gets easier with time, but coming from a regular wallet it was definitely a learning curve. I'd definitely get this wallet again. -- Original review -- Overview: a decent slim wallet that doesn’t cost a fortune. Better than my tri-fold wallet I had that killed my back from sitting on it. Slightly better than the rubber band I used for a few weeks after my dog ate said tri-fold wallet. Pros: A decent slim wallet that can hold several cards as well as cash. Fits nicely in my front pocket and is nice and durable. Not a rubber band. Cons: Getting cards in and out is a pain if you have more than one. More often than not I’ve ended up accidentally removing several cards instead of the one I need...occasionally some fall on the floor while I’m taking them out...so there that. Getting them back in is also fairly difficult because they don’t slide in nicely anywhere but the front or back slots. Sometimes it’s just better to take everything out and put everything back in each time. The rubber band wins out here. Overall it’s a solid meh. Not bad, but not great. Not a rubber band...but sometimes I long for the rubber band. I probably wouldn’t buy it again, but it was a good non-rubber band entry into the wonderful world of slim wallets!

Almost perfect, but needs a solution for scratching cards
The wallet is nearly perfect for its size, I simply cannot stand thicker wallets after many years of using this wallet and its replacement when the first one finally wore out (I may have sat on it weird and broke it, it was a long time ago though which is a testament to the quality as this replacement is already 6 years old.) One problem, that isn't necessarily fault of the wallet butbof the general pitfalls of this style. Over time (and somewhat quickly on the "printed" ones) it will destroy credit cards. The chips work fine, but the mag strip and any printed on writing on most CCs will get destroyed from rubbing against other cards in here. For several years I made sure to keep another card with mo embossed lettering in between cards as a buffer (such as a license or something between bank cards) but even still the friction/abrasion of sliding them against eachother will eventually rub off the mag strip and printing enough that it will no longer be legible or work anywhere without a chip reader or nfc. Either way, great wallet... just prepare to be reordering cards frequently.

Works great no problems.
Great card wallet fits all my cards and cash, rubber band doesnt stretch easily. Worth the money, don't have to buy a new one for a long time. If you fold the money around your cards correctly, it is very easy to use and quickly access your cards and cash. I have not lost any cards yet, keeps them secure.

10 years old and still kicking
I love this wallet and have been carrying it daily for 10 years. The band is still in great shape, but after a decade it has stretched so that i need to carry a minimum of 6 cards and I recently reduce my daily cards to 4 so it's time to upgrade. That said, I will be buying the upgraded metal version of this wallet so I can carry that for another 10 years. Buying this wallet was an awesome choice and I highly recommend it for the price, size, and quality.

Radix one slim wallet
This review is for the radix one slim wallet. It is a plastic wallet with a silcone band. I will be returning the radix as it couldnt compare to the roco slim wallet. Ive had a competitors product for years and the silicone is starting to wear out on it. It is the Roco slim wallet, but unfortunately they have changed their original design which looks more like the radix. The differences from the current radix and the old roco are as follows: 1. Material. The roco is aluminum so very stiff, the radix is plastic. Strong plastic, but it does bend when you try. It shouldn't be a huge issue, but the metal will be much more durable and protect plastic cards from deforming or cracking like they can in a traditional cloth/leather wallet. Unsure of the durability of the radixs durability longterm. The roco has worn down some of the paint over the years, but no damage, bending, cracks, anything. Extremely durable and wish i could just get a replacement band for it. Material also goes into the "stickiness" of the cards. With the metal wallet, it seems the cards slide along it much easier and dont stick to the wallet allowing you to access you cards easier as well. 2. side cutout. The cutout on the radix is more shallow, meaning it doesnt cut in as much. When you try and remove cards, it gives your fingers much less purchase and makes it more difficult to get your cards than on the roco. Both pushing from one side, and pulling from the other, its just overall more difficult with the radix. 3. Band. The radix has a bump on one side supposedly to allow your finger to grasp it and pull it up easier so you can put money between the band and wallet. If i ever put cash in it, i would put it under the wallet anyways and not between it and the band, maybe with the larger cutout it was easier to access, but bills loose make it more visible, and they can catch on stuff much easier, even being ripped out from just going in and out of the pocket. Also the radix band is not a uniform thickness band, but has an almost rectangular shape with formed "edges" to make it slot into a certain spot around the wallet. When you stack up more than 4 or so cards, its thicker than the band is created so the corners are out of place anyways creating a stress point. With a uniform band, like on the roco, you can continually rotate the band so it doesnt get fatigued on a certain spot. The radix one is a good wallet, but I found the original roco to be far superior in design. Unfortunately they changed their design and i will have to see how the new roco compares.

Ultimate Set Up Guide for the super cheap
For the ultra minimalist set up try this. Just order the radix one replacement bands (2) for $7.99 from their website. Then get a produce grade band off a group of broccoli at the grocery store it's labeled PLU #4060, 2inch x. .5inch. It has a higher food grade rubber that doesn't smell or degrade quickly like office rubber bands. Use that to hold your cards sideways. Set your cash stack lengthwise like a U, cards in the middle, with the radix band to wrap around lengthwise. The purpose of the side band keeps the cards from slipping out sideways and keeps them organized when pulling one out. I also keep one primary card on the outside for quick access. This lasts a couple years so tell your wife to be on the lookout for a couple bands when you get broccoli and just have a replacement radix one band on hand also. New credit cards can cut the silicone from time to time. We all know that we gather 1's, 5's, 20's, etc at various quantities and it becomes rather thick. This method solves that problem where the radix model with the hard card cases only shows like one bill folded up. We all know that doesn't work for most because we like to have some cash on hand. I've used this method for 10 years now and I'm on my 3rd radix band and 5th produce band.

Great concept but TWO inherent flaws
I initially purchased this wallet because I was sick of carrying around a bulky leather wallet. I only carried 4 cards with me and a wad of cash; this worked great as a replacement and does exactly what it's supposed to do. It's really great when wearing formal wear because it's slim and doesn't get in the way. Cash is a bit cumbersome since you have to unfold your bills before paying but if you normally use cards it shouldn't be an issue. Having owned this wallet for over 6 months now I've noticed two major downsides (you can determine whether or not it's a deal-breaker for you): 1) The elastic band. Since it is made out of rubber and rubber has a memory to it, when you insert x amount of cards and cash into it, the rubber will eventually expand and loosen. Keep in mind I only carry two ID cards and two credit cards with me and no more than 2 bills. If I remove my ID/credit card to pay for something the other cards have a tendency to slide out. I have come close to losing the cash on the back of the wallet because of this. 2) It SCRATCHES all cards. This is a major issue because it affects the longevity of your cards; it is an aesthetic and functional issue that will eventually render them unusable. Since cards are cheaply made using plastic and they are stacked upon one another, pulling out a card will scratch is against the wallet cover and the other cards. The metallic numbers on my credit card are now black and shaven off; the magnetic strip and chip are showing signs of wear. Multiple swipes are required to have the cards read. The Black Steel version of this wallet probably has an even bigger problem with this since it's made of metal. Unless they were to make a wallet that uses springs instead of rubber and a leather insert/cloth between every card, there is no solution to the two problems since they are contributed to the design. The slimness of the wallet and the price-point is enticing. But for me, the overall risk it is to use this everyday is greater than the convenience. I will not recommend this wallet to any of my friends or family; but if the issues above do not bother you feel free to purchase it.
