Altars of Power and Grace: Create the Life You Desire--Achieve Harmony, Health, Fulfillment and Prosperity with Personal Altars Based on Vastu Shastra

I purchased Altars of Power and Grace after seeing an interview on [...] with Robin and Michael Mastro. I've been interested in Altars for a while after a friend of mine said she had a few in her home. The Vastu Shastra "balances the energy of our living environment" and is similar to Feng Shui but thousands of years older. This book offers an interesting history of Vastu Shastra, excellent detailed instruction on how to prepare space for your altar and where to set it (them) up in your home. They are 'sacred spaces' so to speak that empower your desires through the earths energy fields and who or whatever you believe in as a devine presence, whether it be God, Buddha, the Great Spririt, a Universal Consciousness or All That Is. It gives ideas of what to display on the altars, but also stresses that it's important to pick items that have personal meaning because it's important that you can relate to and feel emotion in your altars. Several ideas are given for 'Igniting' or activating your altar and how to maintain them once they are active. Since reading the book cover to cover (it really is an interesting and easy read) I have set up 2 altars. Each one is beautiful to me. I have already seen positive results from both of them. I'm a little surprised it's happened so soon but I'm obviously delighted.I would recommend this book to anyone who has a serious interest in spritualism.

Well written, lots of good information.

Enjoyed it very much. It's full of good, easy to understand information and fun, descriptive and usable ideas. My first alter is in my art studio, using items I have and treasure. I purchased 2 items; a Yantra and Saraswati figure. I pick yellow & blue flowers from my garden. It was set up, I looked at it, re-read and enjoyed it. Then I Acitvated it. I've been painting about 3 years, was feeling frustrated. Yesterday, I noticed myself being more relaxed, concentrated and free with myself and my work. The next alter is in my planning mind, items are being gathered. This book is written in a way in which I am able to relate and have fun with the building of alters. I even moved my water fountain outside based on the information in this book.

Easy to read book on manifesting intentions through the use of Vedic style feng shui spaces. The book shows you how to create a small space dedicated to your goal (improved abundance in health, business, love, etc) in accordance to Vedic directional wisdom, and in turn, the reader has a chance to use the space or altar as a daily reminder or prayer/meditation space to remind us of the goal while we are at home. Pleasantly surprised by the thoughtfulness you can put into focusing on your intention and the pleasant feelings that come from the process. Very glad someone recommended this book to me.

This book has a lot of samples to show you how to set up your own altars. I've used it to set up my prosperity altar.The only funny thing is, I think my cat drinks the water out of the cup. LOL. Highly recommend this book if you arethinking of having a sacred space in your home.

When you go through this book, the first thing that hit me was the well written, wonderfully organized information. The jewel of the publication, however, is in the images the author provides for the reader to enjoy along with the information he generously shares on the traditional and non-traditional creation of altars. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is seeking inspiration for the creation of in home, at work or traveling altars of any kind. Inpecable.

If you are looking for inspiration for building sacred space in your home, this is it. A beautiful book that expresses how to use altars as a form of appreciation and a focusing tool for interacting with the divine. Really glad I bought this book.

This book is amazing. I took it out from the library and had to buy it. they give very clear instructions on how to create powerful alters. they also explain why you put the items in the specific spots. very informative

I read this book before The Way of Vastu ... I found it enlightening, simple and straightforward .. a real gem, I will never be without these two books ... truly life changing!
