A Good Movie From It's Time
The movie is pretty good, I actually like the old school action scenes. Some parts are actually a little funny, if you don't take yourself too seriously. I've seen some reviews where people complained about this movie being "racist", and that's not fair. This movie is a product of the time, EVERYONE said or did the same things, that's why certain things are in this movie. I like to think of them as move of a historical recording than something racist... if that makes sense? Either way, I like it.

The 1980's and the W.O.R.L.D of Illicit Seduction
As I write my review of this movie from the era of the 1980's.. What comes to mind is .. the sex trade was a booming business for "Street walkers/pimps" due to the fact that technology such as today wasn't available. That under belly world soared due to networking and corruption that ran rampant in society . Cities such as Los Angeles,New York,Las Vegas,Chicago,Detroit and dozens of cities had this problem. This is one of the reasons why Serial Killer's such as "The Green River Killer,The Grim Sleeper Killer" and other psycho's murdered hundred's of women because the police didn't care , until it became headlines. Personally teenage girls and boys shouldn't be exposed to this type of life. If a female or male of 25 or even older wants to engage in this activity for income? Then that is the choice that they make .. even Drug dealer's sell narcotic's and their isn't much a care in public reaction's. Because people assume a 22 year old male selling drugs is a very dangerous profession and he knows the risks? Such as being robbed, killed by a rival or arrested by the local police.? I saw this movie on cable television back in the 1990's on cable and I am certain that certain scenes were edited out? In the 1970's actor Charles Bronson was starring in Vigilante movies and around the 1980's he turned towards portraying a Cop...By this time he was in his 60's .. Most of the actors in this movie I have seen their faces in many B-list movies of the era. Peggy Lipton former wife of Quincy Jones and actress from the "Mod Squad" plays his wife... Sadly she died in May 2019 from Cancer. Her daughter is movie star "Rashida Jones,".. Actor Juan Fernandez plays "Duke" the pimp.. Nicole Eggert plays the reformed teenage prostitute ..The movie does have it's shocking moments .. such as the scenes with the girl's on the city bus..,., One of them being touched by the Japanese man.. who's daughter is kidnapped later . The other is when the woman who's a female pedophile .. talks to the little Japanese girl in her living room. The only scene that was truly a "Feel good" moment is when the pimp is thrown in the cell with "Big Bubba" and get's his better's !!! Any parent raising a teenage girl in 2021 .. Please let your kids see this movie. The reason I say this .. is because teenage girls .. have accounts on social media websites. Sadly they may encounter this type of sleaze online, in person when they leave home for college. The world is a scary place and .. NOT everyone is your friend..!! Don't take candy from stranger's ... folks !

Beyond unrealistic
I normally like Charles Bronson as an actor. I like his strong, silent on-screen persona. Unfortunately, in the early 1980s he started working for Cannon Films, purveyors of low-budget action schlock, and became an icon of conservative white male rage. He made a series of Death Wish sequels for Cannon (all of them vastly inferior to the original), along with this piece of rubbish.Bronson plays a vice cop pursuing a sex trafficker named Duke. Duke and his henchmen are Latino and black, respectively, because in Cannon movies all Latinos and blacks are criminals. Bronson's character is clearly deranged, and has an unhealthy obsession with his teenage daughter's sexuality, but because he's a conservative white man and the movie is aimed at conservative white men, everything he does is given a free pass (the filmmakers give his daughter a black girlfriend in an obvious attempt to convince us they don't think all blacks are bad). He takes Duke prisoner at gunpoint (kidnapping), forces him to eat his watch (assault), and then sets Duke's car on fire (arson). Of course, his captain does nothing when Bronson confesses this to him, because the filmmakers know Americans hate consequences, even though Bronson has committed three felonies, any one of which would have gotten him kicked off the force and landed him in jail in real life. Also, several innocent people were killed when Duke retaliated by opening up with an automatic weapon on a restaurant Bronson was in (Duke also inexplicably gets away with this, because apparently every cop in LA except Bronson is completely ineffectual). Nope, his captain just lets him go merrily on his way without so much as a reprimand. At this point, reality has officially left the building.Later on, Bronson and his partner bust into Duke's apartment without a warrant. If this is how they conduct their investigation, it's no wonder Duke ends up back on the street each time they arrest him, as Bronson claims. Also, they don't call for backup, because that would just get in the way when they interrogate the black henchman by holding him from a balcony by his ankles, then accidently drop him so he falls to his death. Oops! Again, no consequences for this. With Bronson's only lead now silenced due to his incompetence, Duke has apparently gotten away scot free, but the writers come to Bronson's rescue by having Fumiko (the Japanese girl he was trying to rescue) give him a poem, from which he manages to deduce the location of Duke's hideout (even though she's never been there). Oh yes, there's a Japanese girl in this movie, who got in Duke's car and went home with him. The movie is trying to show that women in Japan are treated disgracefully and encouraged to submit to everything men do to them without question (perhaps the only realistic aspect of the entire movie), but Fumiko's completely docile obedience to a total stranger goes beyond believability. There's being trusting and obedient, and then there's just being stupid.Anyway, the last fifteen minutes is absolute nonsense, as Bronson and his partner track Duke to his hideout (again, no warrant, no backup), which gets his partner killed, and Bronson then single-handedly kills Duke's entire gang and apprehends him, so Duke ends up getting raped in prison, and justice is served, sort of (I'd imagine Bronson's partner and all those innocent bystanders in the restaurant might have different opinions). Yeah, this is a ridiculous, racist movie, and not worth anyone's time.

Forbidden Subjects is not Bronson's best or worst.
An older Charles Bronson stars in "Kinjite: Forbidden Subjects" which is supposed to be about Charles Bronson cracking down on weird sexual crimes coming to America from SE Asia in the 1980's. The whole proposition didn't really fly and almost nobody has seen this forbidden film. It's not Bronson's best or worst.Forbidden Subjects is however a strange watch with the main bad guy being the baddie from "Crocodile Dundee 2," Juan Fernandez. Fernandez is mostly a drug dealer and pimp. Bronson aims to put him out of business any way he can. Such is the aim of the film and, in that way, Forbidden Subjects has the look of one of Bronson's vigilante films of the 1970's.This one is not worth buying but it might be a curiosity watch as it is now available on Amazon Prime.

BANG. The most righteous hard core script, performed by the most righteous one.
Get it straight folks: Mr. all-time action-hero is not waiting around for the syndicate to say it is ok.BAD ASS. A very righteous script. This should not be a surprise to any Bronson fan. Thanks for watching. And yes, it opens with a BANG!!. Some nice car chases; nice scenery.

Modest Bronson film, but it's still Bronson Film
Last of the ten Bronson-Thompson collaborations. Typical Cannon-Bronson vehicle with some unexpected sleaziness. Picture is a bit on the soft side and audio is ok but who expects more from these eighties Cannon films. I think this is as good as other MGM/Cannon releases. I'm very happy with the English subtitles and overall this blu-ray is recommended to all Bronson fans.
