Gecko Grip gloves top notch product/customer service
First item of business, quality, this is top notch. They give you the needed grip when dealing with meat that want to slip and slid everywhere. They protect your hands from both the searing heat and the gooey mess that comes with pork fat making it easy to manipulate and carve whatever you want. Second I MADE A MAJOR MISTAke when i ordered my first set. I thinking I had a smaller hand ordered the MED/Large. They were extremely tight and I was ready to order another set due to my screw up, but what I didn't expect was to receive an email from the OWNER of Verde Products, Tracy Beggs took the time to email and find out what I thought of there product! I was flabbergasted to see that type of customer Service in this day and age. We emailed back and forth and I explained my deliminia about the fit, they were not the correct size and Tracy had me measure and email him a picture of my palm with a tape and then a picture of the glove on my hand which showed the tightness around the knuckles. The response was an immediate shipment of the next size which arrived to my house in two days. They fit like a glove (pun intended) I was ecstatic, first for the product (got a new smoker this year) and its function, fit came next with the new set. But I screwed up on the size and I knew it. Then the owner takes time to email me and find out what I personnel felt of there products made me the happiest customer around. You cannot buy that type of customer service, finding the same is like finding a needle in a field of haystacks. Outstanding product, Outstanding Customer Service, you will be pleased, but make sure to follow the sizing directions when ordering!!! Tracy keep up the good work.

These gloves are great. The do what they claim, and saved me from burned hands
These gloves are great. The do what they claim. Most of all, I received a communication from the company in email the thanked me and gave me some important details to know when removing the gloves. You have to carefully remove them one finger at a time working the gloves off instead of just grabbing 2 or 3 fingers and yanking, which could tear the gloves apart over time. Where I notice these gloves ROCK is when I am dumping a canister full of RED HOT coals in my charcoal grill, then using tongs to move and arrange those coals evenly before placing on the meat. This requires your hands to be over these HOT coals for many seconds. Where normally you have to keep yanking your burning flesh from above the coals every 2 seconds, you can leave your hands in place for many seconds and not feel a thing. They do an excellent job at being heat resistant. Just remember, it is smooth silicone on the inside of the gloves, so if your hands sweat, it just takes some finessing to remove the gloves off one finger at a time. They are slightly bulky, so depending on what you are doing, like using some tongs, or having to grab small items, these gloves could pose a challenge. Might just take some getting used to how to hold or grasp some items. Just a note of caution, because these are so good at being heat resistant, you might be reluctant to periodically remove your hands from them HOT coals if you need to do some attending to coals or meat. Take for example having to constantly rotate 65 chicken wings on a grill. The glove do absorb heat over time and I have felt them get hot, which, if you are not careful or paying attention, could get burned by the glove. Remember, the gloves do not come off fast, so if those gloves get hot, you wont be able to rip them off. I love the glove, would highly recommend them and am glad to have them so I can actually hold my hand over red HOT coals for more than 1 second.

Works well be better for small or average size hands.
I purchased these gloves early this year. On the whole, they have been very good but have a couple caveats. My hands are a little larger than average. I can pull these gloves on with no problem, but if I sweat a little inside the glove, they tend to form a vacuum seal and become very hard to get off. I don't expect the majority of people to have this problem. Silicone gets very slippery when it has oil on it. The first time I used these gloves to move meat in the smoker I was surprised when I tried to pull them off. When you mesh the issue above in which the gloves can form a tight seal around your hands with the oil induced slipperiness, you have a little bit of a trial on your hands. The gloves are greasy so I didn't want to go back into the house to get a pair of pliers or some help (it would have created a mess at every door), but having one on each hand made it impossible to get a grip to pull it off. I finally realized that I could get out of them if I bit onto a finger and pulled. Sort of a modern version of the chinese finger trap. Please realize that all silicone gloves get very slippery when oily. It is nothing unique to these gloves. I've used these gloves to rotate food in the smoker as well as pull the fire basket. They offer lots of thermal protection. I really like this product but I will be looking for a similar product that's just a little larger.

Consider your use
Even though they appear to be of good quality, I do not find these to be an all-around good glove. They probably function well for specific purposes, e.g. handling large pieces of meat from a smoker grill, but for simple outdoor grilling activities I think you're still better off with a good protective mitten. The Gecko Grip gloves undoubtedly offer good grip, but they are not exactly comfortable or flexible to use, and they do require some effort to remove. Therefore, for frequent on and off, they are not very usable. I also experienced considerable heat transfer around the seams when handling a hot Pyrex dish from the oven, to where prolonged handling would cause discomfort, maybe not to the extent of burning your hands but enough to put the dish down. I suggest you consider your intended use before investing in this product.

Great all-around cooking gloves
I used the gloves yesterday to handle the meats I was cooking in my new smoker. I am a woman, so I was worried they would be too big. The med/large fit perfectly! I was able to handle all types of items including metal racks, glass serving dishes, to delicate meats, without any problems. I love the way they have the grippy bumps that just grab on tight and stick like glue. The temperature was up to 300 degrees and I never felt even the slightest bit of warmth through the gloves. The gloves were good and sloppy by the time I was done cooking and the clean up was also great. I washed them in a soapy sink of warm water and stuck them on two water bottles to dry. Piece of cake! Wish the smoker was that easy to clean. My old oven mitts may be getting fired for not pulling their weight! I read some other reviews and I cannot wait to try them with canning and opening jars or even Gatorade bottles. I have RA, so gripping can be a problem at times. Absolutely love these gloves!! Even got an email from a real person at Verde River, asking how I liked the gloves. Thank you for a great product and superb customer service!

A true review
It's probably best to give some details relating to the one star rating issues rather then just saying I think they are great. . Too small. I have moderately. large hands and they fit me fine. They seem small due to their grippe nature. More about that in a bit. They transfer heat - Well duh, everything transfers heat if you hold on to something hot long enough and how long long enough is depends on how hot the hot is. I do a lot of smoking, grilling, and general cooking and have had any number of kinds of holders over the years. Current crop includes heavy leather, not quite welding gloves, kind of a knitted white "heat proof" fabric gloves, and these. of the three these gloves transfer the heat much slower then the other two or any other device I have used. Can't get them off - Well yes of course, their sticky so you have a good grip on hot pots, pans and grates . It's not pretty when you drop one of those especially if the grate has five pounds of hot brisket on it. After I received them I got a nice email from the Pres. of the company thanking me and of course asking for a good review. It also included some rather convoluted instructions about removing the gloves to avoid suction. Obviously he must live very far from any water deep enough to involve scuba diving and wet suits. A light dusting of corn starch, talc, or baby powder of your choice inside and they glove slip easily on and off. Reapply as necessary which isn't after every use. They are, for want of a better word, cumbersome - Granted you aren't going to be picking up dimes with them but they are a heck of a lot better then the leather gloves or any mitt I've ever owned and better protection then the knit ones and I don't see myself picking up dimes with those either. They are also far easier to clean then anything else I have ever tried.

They insulate pretty much as you would expect and grip very well
I have been using these gloves for several months. They insulate pretty much as you would expect, you have to be a little careful with hot metal racks. My beef is the fit. They are difficult to get on and even harder to get off. My advice would be to get a larger size than you would for regular gloves but I am not sure that would be adequate. These glove seem to fit me fine once I get them on, it is just that there are points of constriction, especially in the fingers that make them a chore to don and doff. As soon as I posted the above review I was contacted by the seller via e-mail stating that they had processed a full refund for me and apologizing for my problems. They offered to send me the next size larger at no cost to me. I replied and told them to forget giving me a refund. I would be happy to have a set of gloves that I don't have to struggle with. Those gloves arrived today and fit nicely, very easy to get on and take off. I was concerned that the fingers would be too long and clumsy since the smaller size was the correct length for my fingers and hand, but that is not the case. They clearly have this figured out. I still suggest that if you normally wear a large size glove, and especially if with some manufacturers you have to go with extra large, that you go with extra large in these gloves.

Crap gloves DON'T BUY!!!
Don't believe any of the hype from other users. Let me preface by saying I have been a professional chef for 17 years in 4 and 5 star hotels and restaurants. I bought a pair of these for personal use with the rotisserie on my backyard grill. Knowing that these gloves probably wouldn't hold up to the intense heat of the metal rod in a 500 degree closed grill, I was very careful to only handle the cooked meat with the gloves this reducing their temperature exposure to the approx. 200-300 degree surface heat. This is why I wanted silicone, so I could just throw em in the dish sink after. The second time I used these gloves, both of them split at the joint between the thumb and forefinger. Considering this is the part of the hand where 95 percent of people carry the bulk of any load they carry, that makes these gloves absolutely useless. I'm not just talking about a crack either, there was a large gap in both gloves about 2-3 inches wide. The hot grease from the skin of my turkey immediately found its way through to my hands. If I didn't have the so-called "asbestos" hands of a professional chef, this would have burned me quite badly. Save yourself the aggravation and skip these. If you really want something heavy duty, there are prof. Chef online outlets like etundra that sell pro wet gloves. A bit more expensive, but for a reason. I was trying to save myself a few bucks since it wasn't a professional need. Won't make that mistake again

Safe, grippy and much safer than cloth oven gloves
Easy to clean and do work like they should. The only small issue is that if you are holding onto to something hot for a long period of time you do start to feel the heat in the tips of the fingers. This the only smooth area on the gloves, which is the reason for this. The grip is great and definitely no slippage and more grip than cloth gloves. You also don't have the issue of bursting into flame if you accidently brush the element when removing a pan from the oven or griller. Being able to wash them in the dishwasher is another bonus.

Pessimo acquisto.
Scivoli da far paura, piccoli, e per nulla resistenti al calore. E dopo 3 volte che li ho utilizzati la gomma si e lacerata.

Fantastic!
We use in a laboratory for handling hot metal flasks from boiling water. Best gloves we've ever come across and better still, seem to be able to use both gloves on one hand! Will definetly purchase again although such good quality, won't need to for quite a while!
