Bought as part of a series to re read on my Kindle. I had bought the book a few years ago in paperback and wanted to read it again.

Flight of Eagles was my favourite Jack Higgins read so far. Totally fantastical plot that somehow you want to believe. This is 'Boys Own' stuff. If you enjoy an heroic WW2 thriller that always moves fast and furious, with a romance running along side, this is a tail to go for. I got the Kindle version, which is such a simple way to review potential purchases and subsequently buy. Ace!

I could not put the book down. I had never heard of Jack Higgins before I read this book. I’m hooked and looking forward to reading his other books starting with Cold Harbour.

Another brilliant read still my favorite author gripping to the end. He never fails to give a reader exciting reads

It is perfectly readable and a fairly interesting story but some things irritate. Given that it is primarily a 'flying' book, let me give you some simple examples.1. In 1980(?) a pilot takes off to cross the channel without checking if Cornwall is fogged in. Really?2. In a 1975 twin engine plane, the pilot decides to ditch in the sea 'because' they lost one engine. Really?3. In WW2 combat, the same 'trick' is used multiple times to down enemy aircraft without firing a shot. Really?As a pilot: 1. No! 2. No! 3. Not even if you were up against an absolute novice.Other than that sort of nonsense and the shallow character development, it is an easy read with some merit. The story is good, as Jack Higgins' stories usually are, but the writing here is fairly ordinary and his style is getting rather dated.

I loved this! The setting during WW11 was set perfectly. The characters were interesting and credible. I've read most of his books and this one did not disappoint.

Spectacular! I remember my father gifting me the novel on my twentyit birthday and by god it turned out to be one of the best peices i have ever read. I would definitely recommend this book as a good read!

If you like historical novels on WW2 flyers and mysteries with a twist.......... you are going to love this book. I read it about 20 years ago and then again maybe 5 yrs ago. Finally decided I needed to own it ! Just finished it again....... An excellent read !

This book takes place in Work War Two. The father is American and the mother is German. One brother flys for Great Britain and the other for Germany. The book was written in 1998 and was reprinted in 2011. This is one of Jack Higgins better book- my favorite one is The Eagle has Landed
