I had the original model when I was a child, bought this as a reminder of happy times, very nice reproduction just a pity the wing on the front was damaged when it was assembled in the factory, it's still a nice thing to own.

I was after a decent example of the original model of this car but they fetch about £200 so I thought I'd buy this remake (I have an idea to display the model with some other film memorabilia). The most obvious difference looking at the photos online was that it didn't have those jewelled lights, just painted plastic. I assumed that it would be very much a plastic 'cheap' copy but might look OK for what I wanted, but when it arrived I was really pleased! The base is plastic, the lights are plastic but other than that the rest of it is really great quality, especially considering the price! Next to a tatty version of the original it looks really good, all the same detail is there. Lovely model of a childhood hero!

Purchased this for our toddler who is obsessed with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, it comes in at roughly 1/45 scale at 15.5cm long with retractable wings at the side. The ones at the front and back don't push in, but can be removed (kind of). The man, lady and two children are fixed in, it is pretty much all die cast with plastic fittings. It is a lovely model and just like the one in the film but smaller obviously, much smaller. It is larger than a matchbox car though, about double the size. Overall it is a really nice car, in fact it's a beautiful car (that is what my daughter calls it) and what price can be put on a child's smile? Recommended, if not a little pricy.

I had one of the originals as a kid which is long gone so thought I'd revisit my childhood and give this one a try. It's a very good reproduction which I believe uses the same tooling although there are a few downgrades such as a plastic base, no jewelled lights and a bonnet strap that's printed on. The 60s version in mint condition are selling for around £200 these days so £30 is a small price to pay for something that looks almost identical.

Bien reproducido.Aunque lo expongo en vitrina fuera de la caja, realmente para un coleccionista como yo,(tengo miles de piezas),la caja tiene que estar en buen estado para no devaluar su valor y por la presencia. Pues llegó muy chafada, pues iba con otra pieza, (también un auto famoso del cine), metidas en un sobre y las dos cajas estaban en un estado lamentable. Y repito, el modelo bien hecho, las alas laterales se abren al mover la correspondiente palanca.

Chi apprezzava Corgi e Dinky da piccolo, saprà che questo era un modello molto caro e ricercato dai collezionisti. L'automobile originale era prodotta in Inghilterra dalla fine degli anni 60 ma si trovavano nei negozi specializzati in modellismo fino ai primi anni 80, quando la Corgi ha chiuso i battenti. Ne sono state fatte 2 riedizioni, nel 92 ( direi identica all'originale ) e nei primissimi anni 2000 ( versione semplificata con solo 1 personaggio alla guida, alette laterali rosse da aprirsi manualmente). Ora finalmente sono ritornati tutti e 4 i personaggi, le ali bicolore come un tempo e anche le alette frontale e posteriore ( entrambe assenti nelle 2 riedizioni ). L'impatto visivo dunque è lo stesso dell'originale seppure alcuni dettagli restano semplificati come nelle riedizioni precedenti : alcune finiture delle plastiche sono dorate e non cromate come le originali, i 6 fari non sono più di vetro sfaccettato e la cinghia del cofano ora è solo dipinta, non più in rilievo. A parte questo, resta un modellino dettagliatissimo, ben realizzato, coloratissimo e proposto ad un prezzo imbattibile : su internet i ricambi "repro" dell'originale costano quanto questa intera auto. Pardossalmente la si potrebbe prendere anche solo x il numero di ricambi disponibili. Ma in realtà è un bellissimo oggettino in sé ( non per bambini! ) immancabile in qualunque collezione che si rispetti e destinato ad acquistare valore nel tempo.
