this was very good bubble gum rock/pop band in the early 70s, this outfit white plains is a bit shy of the bay city rollers so if that was your thing in the 70s and all you will love this compilation of tracks that are mostly 45s released between 1969 and 1975, i must say the songwriting is a bit better then the bay city rollers where and the songs very catchy BUT OBVIOUSLY the byr had a better song writing team, how many of these 45s where written by white plains??? i do not know but there is a wealth of info inside the inlay and the remastering is fantastic on this cd as this label is a division of cherry red uk and they usually NEVER GO WRONG!!!, this is a nice collection of 45s for fans of other 70s bubble gum/glam rock uk bands such as kenny, mungo jerry, the dead end kids, chicory tip, barry blue showaddywaddy, lieutenant pigeon or hello, if you remember all of those bibble gum/glam uk bands from the 70s then white plains fits right in there with them, im sure you will love this then, i also hear elements of MUD here as well, nice release from the 7ts label....

Excellent collection of 25 songs by the pop group the White Plains from the U.K. "My Baby Loves Lovin" is an infectious slice of pop heaven but with this release, you get to hear the finest remastering I ever heard on this recording. The production values on this release are stellar and make it a very enjoyable experience. The White Plains had far more recordings than we realized at the time in the U.S. when they briefly hit big in 1970.Some may understandably call this bubblegum music, but that doesn't take away from the musicianship. These are mostly well-crafted tunes with strong group vocals. The release includes a top notch booklet that tells their story.

This CD by White Planes is an excellent CD to lay back and chill to! just don't expect too much as they only had one world wide hit, "My Baby Loves Love". my favourite is here, "Noises (In My Head)". this is the best sounding recording of White Planes music on CD. there is a 24 track Best of CD called "My Baby Loves Love", released over 20 years ago, which contained the hit singles and choice LP tracks. this has all 25 single sides, A's and B's!. if you like easy listening and simple pop, "The Deram Records Singles Collection" is big bang for your buck! Amazon says this review was written by me, Jake Burrows, but I am not related to Tony Burrows of this group. LOL. when I was listening to "My Baby Loves Love" on the radio on the way to work, I was told about Tony Burrows and started to wonder if I had any relation with his family. now I can make a joke with my Uncle, and tell him that I'm going to listen to my brother's band! White Planes are ausomn!

Excellent collection of all their singles and B-sides (minus the two from the late ‘70s that were recorded after the band’s hiatus). Well-researched booklet written by Phil Hendricks. Ricky Wolff is finally given proper credit for his lead vocal work. Long overdue!

White Plains, a UK group, were also successful with some of their songs notably 'MY BABY LOVES LOVIN' in the US.Being only 'Singles' collection there are so many highlights. I like all the tracks on this CD, however, personally there are some real standouts that include STEP INTO A DREAM, BEACHCOMBER, DAD YOU SAVED THE WORLD and MY BABY LOVES LOVIN'.People/fans who like WHITE PLAINS music will welcome this release because of some rare songs that have not seen the light of day since their release unless you hunted for them like on EBAY eg. 'Dad you saved the world' single with the brilliant b-side song 'Beachcomber'.The CD booklet is extremely informative as always with Cherryred 7Ts releases. They include notes on who are WHITE PLAINS, chronological list of singles, chart positions/ Cat numbers/production notes as well selective colour reproductions of record labels, European picture sleeves, just simply brilliant.The CD sound quality is excellent, beautifully remastered. The picture collage of sleeve covers is fantastic!A highly recommended buy.
