Despite having a male name my grand niece loved the color and used the engine as a gateway to trains...much to the angst of older female relatives accusing me of trying to convert her into a boy. The interest in mechanics has produced a three year old girl who can tell the difference between Phillips and flat head screwdrivers.

It's purple, she's happy
Perfect size for small hands and carrying around on the day's errands. I didn't want to get too carried away with tracks and accessories and all that mess since they already have a lot of toys so got each girl a wooden train car they'd like. My 2 yr old girl loves purple so got this one.
